OOC:
Quick note, you only roll the dice. You don't add your ability modifiers to the additional roll. So you'd essentially roll 2d8+4. Don't worry, I'll take your result and just ignore the +4 on the second roll.

Results of your actions coming up.

Those defending the starboard side each take aim at the ropes. In simultaneous bursts of fire, Jandral and Golwen break through and send the fish-men falling back into the water. Rhodrick's rapier flashes out with deadly accuracy, cleanly separating the rope from its tether, causing the climbing fish-man to slip beneath the waves.

Parallel deftly thrusts out with his weapons, severing the ropes and sending their climbers into the ocean. The lone fish-man barely has time to reorient itself when Haesh's warhammer comes around and smacks it across the skull, sending spittle and scales flying into the rain. With a hiss, it pulls itself up and over the railing, only to be met with a second warhammer as Tordek whacks it in the abdomen.
OOC:
Tordek, I moved you to the port rail since you didn't specify. Hope you don't mind.
The fish-man looks rough, one eye closed where Haesh connected and its breathing labored from the dwarf's attack. In a fit of frenzy, it opens its mouth wide and tries to bite at the human while thrusting with its spear, but it cannot get past Haesh's shield (9 vs AC, 8 vs AC).

Off the bow, two more fish-men climb over the rail, their grappling hooks unseen from where the party stood. They raise their weapons and move to attack some of the crew nearby. The four sailors take out clubs and daggers, but two prove to be no match for the fish-men's wicked weapons and become skewered upon their spears, falling lifelessly to the deck. Another sailor manages to strike at one attacker, glancing a blow off the scaly hide.

A large wave rises off the starboard side, and the Red Cutter lurches as it heaves-to to ride the wall of water.
OOC:
Everyone must make an Acrobatics check vs DC 10 or fall prone!

Parallel looks up in pride after protecting the port side from invaders, only to see that he was clearly mistaken. With a look of grim determination he rushes over to assist the crew repel the invaders.

He was not, however, prepared for the ship to lurch!

OOC:
For clarification, the two fish-men are at the bow, engaged with two sailors. They stand approximately 30' away from you.

The Acrobatics check takes place before your turn, so you may still act after making (or failing) the roll.
Dec 8, 2016 6:23 pm
Parallel bounces to his feet (looking around briefly to see if anyone saw their rogue look less than graceful) and moves toward the bow (12.5 ft or so).
Dec 8, 2016 6:32 pm
Jandral rolls back onto his feet, aiming his next bolt of flame at the nearer of the two fishmen at the bow.

He then looks for a rope to tie around his waist as a lifeline in case another wave hits.

Rolls

Fire Bolt, damage - (1d20+5, 1d10)

1d20+5 : (3) + 5 = 8

1d10 : (1) = 1

Dec 8, 2016 6:32 pm
Rhodrick tries to lean into the oncoming wave and is able to keep his boots on the deck.

He closes as much distance from the weatherdeck to the bow as he can, his face twisted in a snarl at the sight of the two slain crewmen.

Despite the roiling tumult of the deck, Golwen keeps his balance and directs his anger at the nearest threat. Taking care not to endanger anything flammable, he unleashes a fire bolt.

OOC:
Tordek, the fish-man engaged with you and Haesh is still standing. If you leave, it may get an attack of opportunity. Do you wish to continue?
Dec 8, 2016 10:48 pm
Both Parallel and Rhodrick get to the base of the fore weatherdeck, where the two fish-creatures are battling the sailors, but are unable to get into the thick of combat just yet.

Jandral slips a little as seawater gets under his boot, and his fiery bolt disappears into the storm. He does see a length of rope nearby, a tail-end of one of the stays for the main mast.

Golwen's arcane fire strikes true and sizzles against the fish-creature's scales to leave a blackened char.
Dec 9, 2016 2:35 am
Seeing that the ship is about to lurch, Haesh grabs hold of the rail and holds himself steady. Using the momentum of the wave he aims another quick swing up towards the fishman chest.

1d8+4 : (5) + 4 = 9

Haesh's warhammer impacts the fish-creature's chest with a sickening splat, shattering bones and rupturing internal organs. The follow-through propels the creature over the rail and its lifeless body splashes into the ocean.

Tordek, no longer engaged in melee, picks himself up and moves towards the bow, following Parallel.
Dec 9, 2016 4:10 am
The two fishmen manage to keep their balance as the ship heaves, but it is enough that their spears find no purchase. One sailor slips and falls, losing his dagger in the process. The other crewman fares better and strikes the fish-creature in the abdomen with his club.
