"Uh... Who goes there!?" Haesh yells out to the woods.

Knowing that everyone probably has had enough sleep by now Haesh raises his hammer pounds on the doors of their shelter a few times hoping its enough to wake the others inside.

"Guys... I don't know if I'm just weirded out by the woods, but I just saw something move out there!"

The alert is enough to rouse everyone inside the farmhouse.
Feb 28, 2017 11:09 am
Golwen immediately connects with Rhevia perched atop the house. See anything?

As he does so he gathers his kit and hurriedly moves outside. Once there, he freezes, uses his elfin vision, and listens intently...

Golwen's focus is momentarily taken up by his telepathic link to the owl upon the house, and he himself senses little besides the tension now in the air.

Jandral wakes, and his hand flies to his mask just as it has every morning since this expedition began. No one seems to have messed qith the mask. His secret seems to be safe for the time being. He rises and follows the others outside.

"What is it?" he whispers.

Parallel wakes, well rested and wary (he makes a note to self to make sure any take a watch tonight).

He grabs his gear and joins the crew outside. Sidling up beside Haesh, he questions him quietly, "What did you think you saw? And in what direction?"
Mar 1, 2017 1:54 am
Rhod rises with his companions but stops to light a torch from his pack with the embers in the hearth. He steps to the porch and waits for Haesh to indicate where he saw the movement.
Mar 1, 2017 4:56 pm
Haesh is able to inform the others that the movement came from beyond the treeline slightly to the west-northwest of the farmhouse, and appeared to move northward.
Mar 1, 2017 9:27 pm
Golwen nods when Haesh describes the distance and direction. "Rhevia saw it too. A humanoid, walking in that direction." he whispers. "We should follow."

Before anyone can answer he sends a mental command to Rhevia, Try to keep the "man" in sight. Follow him as best you can from the air.

OOC:
Make a Stealth check for Rhevia. How close or far away does she stay from the humanoid while following?
Mar 2, 2017 12:08 am
OOC:
Without trying to seem like I'm dodging the question: she'd follow as close as she must in order to keep him/her under observation but no closer. Skimming the treetops would be my guess. I'd be okk with her flitting/gliding from tree to tree as well. But I wouldn't want her getting close enough for any kind of contact.

Rhevia takes to the air and lands upon a tree branch high above, still under the canopy. She appears to wait, while staring in the direction the creature seemingly headed off to.
OOC:
For sake of clarity, the reason I ask is to determine a DC for any Perception checks to maintain observation as Rhevia gives chase. Since her darkvision range is 120', I will assume she stays at that distance to stay within your guidelines. Note that it increases the possibility of more obstacles interfering with line of sight, so if you wish to have Rhevia shorten the distance, let me know.

This will also come into play should any of the characters decide to follow. You should also decide what you are going to do.

OOC:
Whoops. I meant to say, you should all decide what you are going to do.

OOC:
I understand why you asked. I just felt douchey giving my answer. I didn't know how to describe it otherwise. I just didn't want you to think I was purposefully being a smart ass or difficult.

You read it exactly right. I'd put her at around 100'. As far away as possible without risking losing the target but not so far that she can't clearly keep a good watch.

Thanks.

After a moment, Rhevia's wings flap silently as she takes off into the early morning, heading north. The sun has not yet risen, though the sky is starting to lighten.
Mar 3, 2017 12:10 am
Seeing Rhevia fly off, Golwen can no longer wait for a response to his suggestion to follow the fleeing humanoid. As stealthily as possible he moves through the forest in pursuit.

Looking at the others moving forward silently, Haesh decides to follow. He tightens his grip on his hammer and moves forward trying to keep up with the others, but cannot help feeling uneasy. His eyes are constantly shifting as he looks from tree to tree.
