Both blades find their mark as Parallel pounces upon the creature, and the strange monster is driven into the ground.

Silence fills the cavern.
OOC:
Combat over!

Also, everyone gains a level!

Parallel stows his dagger and picks up a torch to examine the room.

I could have sworn I heard a scream from the back of the chamber...

The large chamber you are currently in is empty save for natural rock formations.

Two passages lead north from here. The one heading northwest cuts into a small cave where the creatures came from, but the torchlight reveals only patches of thin bedding made of dried grasses. The other passage runs further north and Parallel can see it extends past an empty side cavern.

Switching to his bow, Parallel cautiously moves into the NW passage into the cave.

"Hey Parallel! You see anything down there?"

Investigation - (1d20+5)

Parallel only finds three nests, little more than dried grasses nestled at the base of the cavern wall.

"There’s are there three empty nests. One more cranium hound is out there."

For good measure, he kicks the straw around in a quick search. He then doubles back to join the others, headed up the other passage.

The passage leading north slopes upward as you all proceed, picking your way across loose stone and dirt. You can feel a slight breeze as cool air shifts past you and down the way you came; perhaps the surface is near.

You pass by three small chambers. Each one shows only the primitive tools the grimlocks used or fiddled with, along with a few throws of animal hide on the floor, but otherwise these chambers are unoccupied.

After giving the chambers a quick search, Parallel quickens his step. Feeling the fresh air makes him yearn for sky.

As Haesh sees Parallel runs off and yells out, "I think we have one more thing to take care of before we go."

"I don't think we'll find any more villagers. Let's get to the surface quickly."

"Wait just one minute!"

Haesh pushes Jandral in the chest with the head of his warhammer in an attempt to knock him prone.

"Unless my eyes have deceived me it appears we have a traitor in our midst!" Haesh yells out to the party.

"Tell us why we should not bind you up and leave you here?!"

Knock Prone (Athletics Str) - (1d20+6)

Intimidation (Char) - (1d20+4)

(12) + 4 = 16

OOC:
Will post my reaction after these checks are resolved. How does one resist Intimidation? Adding an unmodified d20 roll.

IIRC ties go to the defender. My roll against Intimidation is going to win if it's any kind of WIS or CHA based check or save.

Rolls

Acrobatics to resist Shove - (1d20+4)

(8) + 4 = 12

Resist Intimidation - (1d20)

(15) = 15

OOC:
Yes, I tend to think of the initial roll (shove in this case) as the DC, so meeting or exceeding that number would mean Naozar was successful in resisting.

I would rule that attempting to resist Intimidation would be a Wisdom saving throw.
Nov 27, 2017 4:54 pm
Naozar is pushed back a half step but stands his ground. He removes his mask, revealing the delicately scaled face now almost completely undisguised by smudged cosmetics. "I'm no traitor. Yes, I lied to you about my parentage, but that was because I knew you would never trust me if I didn't. But now that you've fought beside me and you've heard my words to the illithids how can you still doubt me?"
