She flits to avoid yet another airborne zombie head. "What is with throwing the head? Wouldn’t it be better to throw a better weapon or something?" Hmm, maybe she should not give the enemy any bright ideas.

Which, speaking of bright ideas, she tries to get her dust to lift the carriage up. All it takes is faith, trust, and pity dust. Plus, of course, a happy thought. Do undead evil carriages have happy thoughts?

"Hmph... Crushed by a firetruck? How undignified! I almost weep for you!"

Secret Move #3104: Shadow Bog

As she's running, Murasaki pulls a dark essence from the passing shadows, pitch black tendrils coalescing into a swirling mass of inky power. She lobs the gathered shadows over the pumpkin coach in an arc. When it lands, the mass expands along the ground, forming into a large pool of darkness that sits ahead of the coach's path.

"Do not worry! It will not affect you." She tells her comrades. "As for our foe..."

When the coach begins to cross over it, the pool of darkness acts like a puddle of mud deep enough to at least partially engulf it. The inky substance almost seems to have a will of its own as it clings to the coach.

The carriage is bombarded by a multitude of hindering moves! The bubble magic traps the carriage and those inside—the carriage is then overcome by the shadow bog! The two powerful moves end up in a tug of war. With a little faith, trust and pixie dust, the roof of the pumpkin coach lifts off! And with it, all of Belcher’s zombie gals.

AMAZOMBIE

Oh, yes! I have one foot outta the grave and I am thinking nothing but happy thoughts!

One amazombie catches the head that was thrown at Princess Diamond. She holds the head up so she can talk to it.

Hey, Janet! You lost weight!

There’s an understatement, the bodiless head replies. Whatchya girls up to?

The stratosphere! Wanna come?

A part o’ me does…

The amazombies continue to float up, up and away. To keep the pixie-dusted bubble afloat, the Anazombies will continue to think happy thoughts for the rest of their unlives (unliving happily ever after).

As for Belcher, his wheels are stuck in the shadow bog and he has no minions to throw at you.

SAMUS ARAN

"End of the line, Zombie Belcher!" Samus aims her blaster. "Hands where I can see ’em!"

Belcher puts his hands up—but strings immediately extend! They wrap around Samus.

"Fool—I can easily get out of that!"

Samus uses her Maru Mari power to roll into a ball—which causes her power armor to converge onto her rolled up form.


…but the suit answers to Belcher’s puppet strings! Instead of armoring the rolled up Samus and supplying her with two hundred fifty-five super bombs, the suit stands over her with helmet in hand and shoves Samus into her own helmet.

"THIS IS SO EMBARRASSING," says the voice in the helmet. "I CAN’T GET OUT OF THIS BALL SHAPE UNTIL I REGAIN CONTROL OF MY POWER SUIT."


Belcher steps out of the coach.


Sorry to do this to your friend. I would have liked to kill her, but since you launched my minions into space, I needed to improvise. You understand, I’m sure.

Belcher then whips strings from his fingers, hoping to yank the little fairy out of the air!The power suit launches a missle at Gong-Ju!

Gong-ju fails to block the missile. She cries out as the explosion rocks her backwards, leaving her scorched but still standing. The mermaid grits her teeth and rushes up to Belcher, unleashing a c-c-combo of strikes!

Casey slings a throwing knife at Zombie Belcher and launches herself in a flying kick right after.

ZOMBIE BELCHER

Gong-Ju is struck, but she hits back several times harder several times! Casey adds injury to injury with a flying kick!

She's pulled towards the Zombie and tries her best to break free. One hand still on her wand she sends some nasty stinging fairy bolts at her attacker. "You are definitely a bad guy. Not only that but, you're smart enough to know better. Cinderalla and Snow White would be so dissappointed in you."

Murasaki lights her fists aflame with her ki and squints her third eye. The subtle gleam of the thin puppet strings begins to stand out to her. She strikes at the strings in an attempt to free Samus.

Princess Diamond remains unscathed! Murasaki’s COMBO FINISH nearly frees Samus!

Belcher still has one string on Samus’ suit—which he uses to force her to roll up in a ball! He swings her round and round, to and fro, like a heavy metal yo-yo!

—a yo-yo that’s spilling hundreds of bombs!

Gong-ju knocks the bombs heading towards her out of the way before striking back!

Murasaki flips high into the air, avoiding the bombs and their resulting explosions entirely. She comes down towards Belcher with one leg held high, intent on hitting him with an axe kick fueled by gravity.

Casey frantically tries to dodge and weave through the rain of Samus bombs. But the explosions are everywhere and too strong.

"Its okay Samus. I know it ain't your fault. I still think you're the bomb..." she yells as she is blasted through the air.

She zips around avoiding the damage but, somewhere along the way her wand gets tangled up and she utterly misjudges her aim. Luckily she didn't zap and nearby farm animals or something...

Zombie Belcher gets skewered on Gong-Ju’s axe. He’s about to belch acidic vomit onto the mermaid—

—but Murasaki’s axe kick takes his head clean off.

As for Samus, she is still in ball form. She plants another bomb! All of you are engulfed!



You can see the silhouette of the famous bounty huntress as light and warmth washes over you.

SAMUS ARAN

"Sorry about the bombs," Samus says, relieved to see Casey waking up, unharmed (though her clothing is singed!). "That zombie really made a mess of my power suit."

"We understand, thankfully you are unharmed, and I hope that you can repair your suit. We also appreciated the healing."

She pauses and then adds, "I don't suppose you know where the Black Cauldron might be? According to princess Eilonwy, we should retrieve it and that should ensure that no more of these Cauldron Born are created."

Tears run down Casey's cheeks as she realizes she isn't dead. "Thank you, Samus! You saved my life. Are we best friends now?" she says as her emotions swell up.

Luckily, the river of tears also smothers the spots of smoldering clothing that she hasn't noticed.

Clad in her zero suit, Samus stands over a pile of armor plating. Her hope is to unravel the puppet strings to ensure she won’t lose control again. Then the five of you can find the cauldron and undo whatever Belcher’s vengeful spirit started…

But as her mind is so hyper-focused on the job, she finds herself startled by Casey’s emotional response to a rescue.

(Samus had once rescued some alien creatures on Zebes, and a baby metroid that loved her. But those were her only connections… none of them were human.)

She turns to Casey, not sure if she should embrace her. At 6’3", the height difference could make the hug more awkward than it would normally be for one whose experience touching another human was almost exclusively to check for a pulse. For all of Samus’ accomplishments, there was much in life she hadn’t done.

When Casey asked if they were friends, she responds with her personal phone number. She tries to stammer something more, but—


—suddenly, a monorail speeds by on the overhead track!

"WEEEEEEE!"

The whole monorail is full of zombies!

SAMUS ARAN

"The monorail! The source must be in another park!"

She carries a few parts with her as she runs to the monorail station. But the monorail doesn’t stop.

"I have an idea!" Ahe hooks up the parts she brought with her: her speed booster and arm cannon. "Step into the beam—it’ll get you inside! Take over the monorail and get off wherever the black cauldron is. I believe you can handle this, dear B☢️MBSHELLS!"

"Let's go!" Gong-Ju shouts as she steps into the beam and zooms forward!

Regaining her composure, Casey returns Samus' embrace. "I promise I won't call too often. Do you have unlimited texting? Nevermind."

Still in a bit of a daze, she wanders to the beam and steps inside.

"We're off!" Murasaki jumps into the beam without hesitation.
