Hi all,
I'm an American transplant in Switzerland. Quite experienced in GMing play by post but I've mostly done this through discord and am now looking to branch out. As a GM I tend to fixate on verisimilitude, sometimes in contradictory ways. I tend to gravitate towards science fiction and modern settings, and also prefer d100 systems. Looking forward to running a game here soon.

What d100 systems have you used? It's been decades since I played any of those

Delta Green, Only War (FFG 40k) mostly.

Welcome to the community, Delta. What are the contradictory ways that you lean into verisimilitude?

In the past I’ve overemphasized certain aspects of a narrative needing to purport with reality, in particular with games that are military themed, rather than putting the game aspect first. I had quite a detailed Homebrew for one of my Only War regiments that was over twenty pages long of additional mechanics and ways to spend downtime. My players did actually enjoy the Homebrew I made but I burned myself out trying to make it as Milsim as I possibly could.

Ah, yeah, that might do it! I did something similar with GURPS in the 90s. Wasn't crunchy enough, so I developed a bunch of houserules and raided USENET for hundreds of pages of fan-developed materials...

Yup, that certainly sounds familiar, haha.
