You spear catches some kind of invisible armour and fails to penetrate. In response it tries to grab at you, lightning arcs through your metal armour. The two figures do their shuffle again.

I choke back another mouthful of estus and stab repeatedly into the air as lighting surges through my body. If my spear strikes, I release as much psionic power as I can muster.

Trying to focus of through the blur, you barely catch the edge of the figures invisible armour. It reaches out again trying to shock you sending arcs of lightning trough you. The two of them make lewd gesture as he shuffles with the illusion again.

Your blow lands on the phantom, and both it and the other illusion vanished. A wand and humanity sprite is left behind where the foe once stood, but you gain no souls.

The room is utterly barren save the two fires that lead out to the wall, both are barred from the inside by a heavy block, but from here the can be moved easily.

Beyond is more wall much like on the other side. Ballista and archers evenly spaced.

The tower room is mostly barren just some decrepit crates which are missing a number of boards allowing you to see that the insides are empty.

I return through the passage I had come through to the bonfire. Smiling at the woman, I cross my legs and sit. A sigh of relief accompanies the ethereal warmth provided by the flames. As I sit, I examine the wand from the foe I just defeated.

Simple wand of Arcane Assult.This simple wand is favoured by spell casters who find their reserves running low often. This wand has 4 charges. While holding it, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast the magic missile spell from it. For 1 charge, you cast the 1st-level version of the spell. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend.
The wand regains all it's expended charges when you rest at a bonfire. If you expend the wand's last charge, roll a d20. On a 1, the wand crumbles into ashes and is destroyed.

Rested and reassured to have the new wand, I stow it in my pouch then climb to my feet. Turning, I head back to the wall to see if the wizards have returned since I rested, or if their souls are forever departed...

Been trying to finish the rebuild of the character, almost there just need to pick one more spell. I will post it hopefully in a day or two...

It seems that what ever that mage was, it was different to the other creatures that you have faced. His appearance makes you think that he was probably from elsewhere, in a way that reminds you of your own appearance in other worlds.

This section of wall is similarly manned to the other, with two soldiers manning ballista facing the invaders and one great archer facing towards the inside of the keep. Each group of soldiers are spaced about 40ft apart.

If I can make it to the nearest one, I open with two attacks. If I cannot, I move my base speed, then will use Mind Thrust on it instead.
