Rolls

Attack - (1d20+9)

(7) + 9 = 16

Damage - (1d8+6)

(2) + 6 = 8

Your claws dig into one of the ballista crew felling it. This leads to the nearest and next nearest archers opening fire on you while the other crewman swipes at you with a short sword. The near archer and remaining balista crewmen completely miss their marks but the far archers shots drive home.

Rolls

Bow shots - (1d20+4, 1d20+4, 1d20+4, 1d20+4)

1d20+4 : (1) + 4 = 5

1d20+4 : (2) + 4 = 6

1d20+4 : (12) + 4 = 16

1d20+4 : (20) + 4 = 24

Slashy slash - (1d20+3)

(4) + 3 = 7

Damage - (3d6)

(564) = 15

OOC:
To clarify, there is one swordsman and two archers?
May 6, 2017 11:13 pm
OOC:
Theres a swordsman and an archer from this group left and an archer from the next group across also firing at you.
May 7, 2017 12:35 pm
I lunge forward and slash at the archer nearest me. If it is felled, I attack the swordsman. If both fall I close the distance to the others.

The first blow lands but the archer remains up, but with the second blow the archer crumbles to the ground and you absorb their soul. Two more rapid shots sound from the distance and the crewmen swings at you with their sword again. With foes on both sides Alara fails to dodge away and both attacks hit.

Rolls

Shots - (1d20+4, 1d20+4)

1d20+4 : (13) + 4 = 17

1d20+4 : (14) + 4 = 18

Buckets o damage - (3d6+5)

(634) + 5 = 18

I stab at the swordsman with my claws, then chug back the ol' estus before - if the swordsman is felled - closing the gap to the next group.
OOC:
Oh man that hurt.

Action: Attack!
Bonus: Estus (x3)
Move: Move to archers if current foe is down.

You efficiently strike down the remaining ballista crewman and charge headlong at the other archer. Seeing you charging towards them they ready a short sword and stab at you. Your arrival also alerts the ballista crew that were near this archer and the loud twang of another great bow suggests the the next archer along has also spotted you.

Rolls

Short sword stabs - (1d20+3, 1d20+3)

1d20+3 : (17) + 3 = 20

1d20+3 : (9) + 3 = 12

Snipers everywhere! - (1d20+3, 1d20+3)

1d20+3 : (16) + 3 = 19

1d20+3 : (6) + 3 = 9

Ballista crew go! - (1d20+2, 1d20+2)

1d20+2 : (20) + 2 = 22

1d20+2 : (19) + 2 = 21

Stabs damage - (4d6+4)

(6142) + 4 = 17

Arrow damage - (1d8+2)

(2) + 2 = 4

OOC:
How far am I from running away?
May 14, 2017 2:52 am
OOC:
if you had a way to survive the fall you could go over the inside edge of the wall and break out of the combat, otherwise you would need to go back to 80 feet to the gate house.
May 14, 2017 12:40 pm
Seeing myself outnumbered, and out positioned, I shift my focus, lightening my body, chug back what's left of my estus then roll off the wall.
OOC:
Well that's convenient.

Bonus: Psionic Focus to Mastery of Air (take no falling damage, and ignore difficult terrain)
Action: Chug Estus
Move: Off the wall

Rolls

Estus - (2d6+4)

(21) + 4 = 7

You land safely out of the sight of your assailants on the wall. The streets are cluttered, and though it offered cover for now as you move theyay again be able to fire upon you.
OOC:
How do you try to escape the streets? Describe and make a roll...

I concentrate for a moment and the air immediately around me begins to whirl, hopefully deflecting any stray projectiles. I stay close to the wall and race along it towards the direction I had come from, seeking to return to the bonfire.
OOC:
Bonus: Mastery of Air (Concentration) -- Attacks on me have disadvantage.
Move: Move It!
Action: Hustle!

Rolls

Athletics - (1d20+2)

(3) + 2 = 5

OOC:
we are dropping into narrative time btw...
You start running but soon realise that you are completely turned around by the tight warrens your trying to get through...
OOC:
your getting lost in the city streets, how do you find your way, make a relevant skill check...
May 22, 2017 7:32 pm
I slow my pace, and try to find a place where I can see the high wall to try and reorient myself in the direction of the bonfire before continuing.

Rolls

Perception - (1d20+4)

(6) + 4 = 10

You think you know where to head and make your way way along the cluttered streets. You arrive at the edge between two districts, one which is higher then the other. You cannot see from where you are a way up, but you are sure that the bonfire was on that level.
OOC:
You will need to get up onto the higher level, without getting shot to pieces by the archers on the wall. Describe how and make a relevant skill check.

OOC:
Ahh, this very much has come to respect my experience with games like Dark Souls -- I make a poor judgement about geography, then don't know how to proceed and put the game down for far too long! Here's to trying again :)
I focus my mental energy on my knowledge of light and its absence (psychic focus on Mastery of Light and Darkness - granting darkvision out to 30 feet). Then, I focus inwardly and will the area between myself and the wall with as much darkness as I can muster (Spend 5 Psi Points on Darkness -- creating a 50-ft radius of darkness as per the 2nd level spell), and fill myself with a bit of vitality while drawing on psychic energies (use Bonus Action to heal equal to Psi Points spent, in this case 5). Then, I step into the welcome shroud of darkness and move towards the edge of the two districts, looking for a hand hold or way to ascend to the level that will lead to sanctuary.

Shrouded in darkness, you safely avoid the onslaught of arrows, and after a time return to the garden which the fire keeper tends.
OOC:
Welcome back! Let me know if you want to go over anything.

After what felt like a year of being lost in the streets of the city, the emebered glow of the fire is a welcome sight. I sitcross legged and ponder it's warmth. Then reorient myself.
OOC:
What are my paths out of here?
Apr 11, 2018 12:08 am
Other then the door to the gate courtyard there are three ways out of the garden, to the left and right wide staircases that lead to raised ground on either side, suggesting that the city behind the wall is raised, and the garden sits sunken to the ground level outside. And the great door that leads into the keep proper.
