[ +- ] MAP Question!
I should've put it out I suppose, I didn't because I didn't want to cause confusion. You guys are still in the water, this is where you'll be when you touch ground. However, barring any deaths on their side, that is where they'll be. The Orc with the horn is T1.I think the only best course of action would just be running towards the other boat. In the 2 "Suprise Round" turns, can I spend them running and then jumping to the orc's boat? Or something simuliar?
@Smiley Yes. You land on the deck next to the orc with the horn in time to see him get throat knifed. You see another orc lying there, his leg is bandaged. You have one turn as that ate up one of your turns for two movement actions.
Or you can do something else. But that's an option now.

Rolls
Varin: Acrobatics (Dex) - (1d20+9)
(18) + 9 = 27

Ooof, 21 didn't hit an armored orc and it's not clear to me a ranged or melee penalty had anything to do with it...
That said, I am trying to work out a plan via PM with the GM that might allow me to Aid Another in melee at some point. When AC is high, you can use tactics to (effectively) lower it.
Aid Another
In melee combat, if you’re in position to make a melee attack on an opponent that is engaging a friend in melee combat, you can attempt to aid your friend as a standard action.
You make an attack roll against AC 10. If you succeed, your friend gains either a +2 bonus on his next attack roll against that opponent or a +2 bonus to AC against that opponent’s next attack (your choice), as long as that attack comes before the beginning of your next turn. Multiple characters can aid the same friend, and similar bonuses stack.

Rolls
Petra Pestlegrind: Acrobatics (Dex) - (1d20+2)
(18) + 2 = 20
Petra Pestlegrind: Reflex (+2 if vs spells or poison) - (1d20+3)
(20) + 3 = 23
Fall Damage - (1d6, 8d6)
1d6 : (4) = 4
8d6 : (44541463) = 31

He didn't hit because of range penalties.
AC for mooks = 16
AC for Elite = 18
Researching your proposal.

Did I just take 14 Damage?
Ouch.
14/28 HP
(EDIT FIXED MY HP! I did Max for each level instead of average.)

Did Petra take 45 damage, or did I misunderstand your last OOC reply?
You also said 'you could try again' but I think in this context we need to stick with the rolls you made and move on...

The total fall damage was 45, you took 11. Originally it would've been half, but you(Petra) rolled the nat 20. So I dropped it to 1/4.

Petra needs to reconsider her efforts as 45 damage is just a touch life threatening. Azote doesn't raise the dead.@everyone: If Petra dies, I am OOC declaring my "DNR" right here and now. Does anyone else have a preference on 'revive or not revive' for their PC?
((Not like I think you could find someone to raise her, but should an NPC suggests there IS a way then I'd rather you say no.))
[ +- ] If you raise dead on Petra anyway
If someone tried to revive her anyway, I (player and PC) couldn't stop you and you'd probably pay a horribly steep price for it... And in the end, Petra will not remain the party regardless after a death experience, unless she becomes a DM-NPC while I (with GM permission) start someone new. So I can't recommend that.

The moral of this is NOT TO THROW SOMEONE IN A BARREL!
Just jump like I did. :P
Does this setting have any fun rules for reviving someone? Like coming back with nightmares, strange cures, or white hair and pale skin.
