Before we switched over to Chapter 2 Varin gave you some stuff. You might have missed it.

I definitely thought the boat was stopping for awhile but it was not.

I see the stones, nothing interesting nestled among them that would cause the boat to want to stop and of course I can't be like "let's stop for me to get common rocks," so...my bad.

No issue, wasn't trying to offend. I can be a little unintentionally snarky sometimes.

So I tried to subtly ask this in character, but for my two pieces of info:
1. How many days by water approximately?
2. How many days by land approximately?

Also, i legitimately forgot ooc tags were a thing.

Apologies, I probably missed it, sometimes I catch subtle hints, sometimes I'm completely oblivious.

Just ask my wife.

1. How many days by water approximately? A little under 3 days.
2. How many days by land approximately? To where? Your final destination?
-If so, you're not really sure exactly where it is. Else you wouldn't need the guide. However, your character is familiar with the general area, you're guessing it'll take anywhere between 5-9 days overland from your general dropoff and meet up location.
-If not, specify and I'll correct.

To clear the air, the tone or snark didn't offend me. I just don't like to waste rolls and GM attention when my reading more carefully probably would have avoided it.

I didn't plan on initiating combat straight away, since there's a few different ways you guys can choose to tackle the situation, not trying to force anyone's hand.

I took the 3 jars of salt pork off my sheet. Figured we passed them around for breakfast.

It is up to you if I have any left.

I was thinking of slinging some meat towards the orcs when we got closer.

If they cause a problem at least.

I explained in character, but the primary concern with by passing them is they will hunt you guys down later, and by you guys I mean Wexley's Barge.

So! Summing up what's going on.

Three options before us:

1) Let Wexley talk to the patrol and bribe them (Ensures they don't follow)
2) Fight/kill the orc patrol. [Possible eel involvement] (Signed off on by Wexley)
3) Try and slip past orcs. (Likely sees the orcs pursue us later because we "snubbed them")

4) we sneak pass but fail and orc's attack.(I am hoping for this one truthfully)

The residential fighter’s player votes Option 2.

To be clear, so long as y'all remain hidden, the only ones the orcs would be pursuing is Wexley and Thaelin. They don't know you exist (yet).

Edit: Also, sneaking... Not really an option for the barge. You guys can very likely remain hidden. But there's no getting by them on the river without them seeing the barge.

I assumed we couldn't sneak.
I was more wanting us to try and get pass and see how to orc act.
If they try to board we deal with them.
Or other options.

I would like to at least try bribing past the orcs, but that is out of. Party hands.

Rather fight as last resort.

I don't think this is likely to happen. They're more likely to heal up, report, and come after the group later.
