So Petra took 11 damage? Sounds more than fair. All hail the power of a nat 20.

Fine...

But someone is coming back as a Fell.
Can I vote for one of the orcs? Are we voting? ;)

Oh I am pleased, don't get me wrong.

I wouldn't have complained if the rolls did not go my way and I took 45 damage either. Some lessons are harder than others, right?

Tbf. I did warn you.

Tbf, I thought you were warning me about being the projectile myself (which is the plan we did not go with) AND warning me about "not jumping clear fast enough," from the barrel which I thought I could do BEFORE impact, though?

Just turns out I am not a half-gnome Evel Knievel. ;)

A couple things that have come up in the private threads for PSA:

Skill prerequisites:
Any midnight specific feats, prestige classes, anything at all, that references a skill prerequisite, that prerequisite should be treated as 3 lower than the actual number in the source material due to the skill conversation from 3.5 to Pathfinder 1E.

Conversation confusion:
A player wanted a feat, but did not know how to apply the Pathfinder Feat to the version of their ability from Midnight. The ability in question was changed dramatically from 3.5 to Pathfinder 1E. When dealing with the Pathfinder 1E version, the meaning was clear.

When dealing with base 3.5 materials ensure you're checking the Pathfinder 1E version for changes.
That's all for now, getting a lot more free time coming up this next week, so I'll probably make a lot of updates to the player materials as a number of flaws have been pointed out to me lately and I want to provide you the most accurate information I can.

For some reason this morning my head went to elementary school.

Nah, the orc's attack missed! I have a force field!

I called time out! Your attack doesn't count!

lol, You can make a con check, DC12, to stabilize on your next turn...

So silly observation... that i think about constantly in Pathfinder. You dont have to drop a bow to draw a one handed weapon. You can hold a bow one handed. In fact to fire it you hold it with one hand, and the arrow in the other. You could technically hold a bow in the left hand and swing a one handed weapon in the right. You just couldn't also fire the bow. If the rules say otherwise, they are officially silly and wrong, because I could demonstrate this quite easily.

Yea, makes sense to me. Some feats even mention having a hand free. However, you wouldn't be about to get Str + 1/2 Str.

One-Handed: A one-handed weapon can be used in either the primary hand or the off hand. Add the wielder’s Strength bonus to damage rolls for melee attacks with a one-handed weapon if it’s used in the primary hand, or 1/2 his Strength bonus if it’s used in the off hand. If a one-handed weapon is wielded with two hands during melee combat, add 1-1/2 times the character’s Strength bonus to damage rolls.

True, true. If it's a light weapon you can't two hand it anyway, though.

Hey!
I am not dead yet!

Seelah just took a big hit.

We were doing fine besides this big dude.

This combat is a nail-biter. XD

Good luck up next, @WanderOne!

Yeah after looking up what a Cedeku was, you can't two hand it, as it's a light dagger anyway. Lol

Let Seelah have her charge. No attack from the orc. Combat over.

I never said it was, I was just pointing it out, sheesh.
Jul 3, 2025 9:42 pm
I probably wouldn't have mentioned it, but I had to figure out what a cedeku was. Lol

Sort of like this, just with less curves:
[ +- ] Kukri
I actually own that one. Best knife I've ever owned. Simultaneously a knife, machete and a hand-axe.
[ +- ] Confession

Your PC is awake now! Successful check to revive him to 1 HP, per the Midnight "Natural Healer" feat like I used on the halfling Tefli.

My plan was not to use magic until we were at minimum moving through the water again, possibly even later than that if the elders advise against it at the risk of sending up a beacon to a nearby Astirax and/or Shadow patrol: "HELLO, MAGIC HAPPENING!"

Fun fact: We probably coulda used magic this time. Buuuuuuut Jasir didn't have anything that'd have helped too much.
