Part 1: Deliverance

Knowing his job as the negotiator of the group, Savi realized staying behind simply wasn't an option. "I'll be happy to be done with this job as well, Doc. Let's go get paid."

Savi checks to make sure his blaster is secure at the small of his back - hidden yet readily accessible in case the worst case scenario rears its ugly head. He didn't expect to use it, however. His silver tongue was the only weapon he tyoically needed in these types of situations. He would get the crew paid, and paid well for this mission. But he was determined, above all else, to get the job completed. Something about this run made him uncomfortable. The sooner it was done the sooner they could move on to more lucrative missions.

"Coming Avox?"

The bounty hunter finishes checking the cargo and nods. "After you senator."

As you approach the exit from your berth, you are approached by a bored human in a uniform. "Welcome to Dantooine berth fees are 50 credits a day hope you enjoy your stay," he drones. Clearly this is something he has said many, many times. "Please let me know if you need any repairs or restocking services." At this he looks slightly more hopeful.

Jack holds a credstick out to the droid as he passes by, saying, "This is for the YT-2000 in bay 8. Horizon Chaser. We should only be here the day."
OOC:
It only has 50 credits on it, anyhow!

Adaasha straps on her belt and holsters her pistol. She double checks that the ship is secure as she can make it and heads out to the Rancor with the crew.
Nov 29, 2016 10:10 am
OOC:
Is anyone staying? Avox established that the cargo was unloaded already.
Nov 29, 2016 2:38 pm
OOC:
I think everyone's going except Bo, who is gonna try to find info on the pirates who attacked us
Nov 29, 2016 3:12 pm
OOC:
Should probably have someone watch cargo if it is outside the ship. Or see if we can pay the droid to have people watch it.
Nov 29, 2016 3:15 pm
OOC:
I'll hang back to keep an eye on things, will edit my original post
Nov 29, 2016 4:02 pm
OOC:
Yeah, I thought we were all going since the cargo was unloaded.
Nov 29, 2016 5:11 pm
Maskcot says:
OOC:
Yeah, I thought we were all going since the cargo was unloaded.
OOC:
thats exactly why someone needs to stay to watch it. If it was still on the ship we could leave it and assume it'd be secure, as it stands it's just sat on the dock where anyone could pinch it
Nov 29, 2016 10:19 pm
OOC:
Bo was hoping to catch up as quickly as possible after her hack
Nov 30, 2016 12:50 am
Bo's search turns up very little. There are a few random references, such as "That sleemo Sontebrem", but no hard data to be found. She is able to easily catch up to the group before they leave the port, and passes Doc standing watch on the crates.

The rest of your group walks out into the cacophony surrounding the landing bays. There are people from myriad worlds selling services and wares to locals and travelers alike.
OOC:
Feel free to describe what you see and hear as you walk along. What vendor catches your eye? What interaction seems interesting? Who do you see that you didn't expect?

Avox heads with the rest of the group to the cantina. At one point they move through a crowded food market. Cramped, messy stalls all bunched together were all around them like a maze, along with a myriad of activity resembling those you'd see in more urban areas.
"Why are they all bunched up like that? Plenty of room on this planet." Avox asks internally.

As he observes the comings and goings he notices that there is no enforcement around here anywhere. Odd, considering it is not terribly far from the starport. As they pass tight alleys and secluded corners in the market he starts to figure it out. All the commotion masks several substance exchanges and user meet-ups.
"Dusters? No it could be Death Sticks." He thinks. "Maybe that's what Chusk is having us deliver. Could be his big move to get in on the drug market here. I wonder who has this turf now; they wouldn't like that kind of thing."

Avox keeps to his own business and keeps with the group. Ignoring merchants peddling their merchandise at him as he passes.

As they move past one of the stalls, Jack spots a green-skinned Twi'lek and a Human man standing by a shop stall displaying a variety of apparel. As the Twi'lek moves away from the stall, she bumps against the man beside her. She apologizes, and he dismisses her concern with a wave of his hand. Jack's eyes narrow when he notices the Twi'lek's hand slipping out of the human's overcoat pocket with credstick in hand. She catches Jack's stare and knows that she was spotted, though she does not look immediately worried.

Jack simply turns away, ignoring what he'd seen and letting the Twi'lek get away with her prize. "Supisy," he mutters under his breath in Ryl. He makes a mental note to not let anyone get too close to his pockets.

Not surprisingly, Adaasha finds a parts dealer near the landing port, run by a human and his two Dantari assistants. Ada watches the Dantooine natives move a new supply of parts. 'Wouldn't mind bein' hoisted around like that stabilizer...' Ada thinks to herself. 'I wonder if this place actually has anything worth buying. Might come back and check it out if there's time.'

Every so often I truly miss Coruscant...

Savi takes a great deal of delight in people watching. As he strolls with the group he eavesdrops on snippets of the varied conversations swirling about him. A laborer barks at his compatriot who had dropped his end of a crate they were transporting. A clumsy Twi'lek excuses herself for running into a human in the crowd. The ubiquitous merchant haggling with a customer unwilling to pay exorbitant prices. He'd seen it all a million times before, and yet every crowd, every conversation, every instance was unique.

Every interaction told him about the people having them. Savi gleaned information from linguistic exchanges the way others might infer from appearances, garb, or mannerisms. Every phrase, how it was crafted, what it said, what it implied, revealed culture, identity, and motivation.

As he drifted among the clouds of conversation, Savi was learning a great deal.

He smiled as he accompanied his companions toward, hopefully, an interesting negotiation.

Bo tries to keep to herself. She is always cautious on new worlds. It takes her time to climatize. She stays alert and watches the rooftops and shadows when others seem distracted she is even more paranoid.
OOC:
in the Grand Canyon for work. I'll be more reliable after Tuesday, so this is my pass for an opportunity to do some fun character building. I normally love these open agency chances. Cheers

As you make your way through the crowded market, the smell of food from a dozen worlds mingles. Some is enticing, some revolting, and some of you are reminded by your bellies that you have not yet eaten today. A flock of urchins rush by in a swirl of colour and laughter.
OOC:
how do you find your way to the cantina?
