Part 1: Deliverance

"On that front, Avox, you'll get no argument from me."

Thinking back on his experience as a smuggler, Jack tries to put some pieces together. While it would make sense for this area, those people didn't move like farmers. More like smugglers, or mercenaries. And nobody needs farming equipment delivered secretly. More likely they are a group of ne'er-do-wells of some sort, and that delivery was probably drugs. Yet they were unusually cheerful and friendly for drug dealers. Odd.

Jack's pensive look is broken when he chuckles softly to himself, a realization dawning upon him. He shakes his head with a humored look on his face as he focuses back on the conversation. He runs a hand over his hair, scratching the back of his scalp as he looks at the others. Jack raises a hand, counting on his fingers as he looks upwards and attempts to math it out, "Well, thirty-three hundred, then. Half to the ship is sixteen... fifty. Cutting that six ways gives each of us... two... hundred and... twenty-fi.. no, two-hundred-seventy-five credits."

"Don't spend it all in one place," Jack will say. At the earliest convenience, Jack will be sure to divide the credits from the account that Thessa transferred it all to, distributing it all to the appropriate credsticks. Afterward, should nothing happen in the meantime, Jack will return to the Raging Rancor for a drink and some food.
OOC:
Going to deduct 10 credits for the drink(s)/food, unless it'll cost more. :)

"It'll be hard to spend it in more than one place..." Savi grunts. "I'll head back to the Rancor for a bite as well. If Thessa has info on another job it won't hurt matters to be easy to find. Anyone else up for a drink?"

He waits for the others to chime in then walks back to the cantina with whomever opts in.

"Yeah that sounds good, it'd be nice to see more of the sights than just the landing pad." he says with a chuckle before following Savi and Jack

"I may come later. If not then I'll be on the Horizon." Avox says, before heading into the town. He spends his time looking about town, seeing if there are any locale bounties posted somewhere, or if any new ones have appeared since he last checked them. "Though the last bounty I actually tracked down is now a shipmate." Avox mulls over, wondering if it really was a good idea to join up with these people.
OOC:
I am doing this to pass time and for flavor mostly, but if I find out anything fun I am all up for it.

Bo hangs back at the Horizon. She will try to distract herself by reading latest news and intercepts on the holonet. Then finds herself meddling with the droid more. She tries to get some back up power into it from the ship in order to download it's programing and start restructuring some of it. She starts getting more and more figured out by process of trial and error. By the time anyone returns to the ship she has a lot of it pulled apart and a few larger cables and a dozen wires connecting it to the ship and her slicer gear. Half eaten rations sit sit beside her and a few grease smudges and new electrical burns mark her hands and face.

Those of you that return to the cantina are greeted by an ecstatic Skent and placid Wre, who asks what she can serve you. The food and drink are simple here, and meals costs only 5 credits. Alcoholic drinks are 5 credits, non alcoholic are 2 credits. Water is free, though not completely transparent.

Jack gives Skent a tired smile before turning to Wre to order, "Three meals - whatever's on special should be fine - and three waters. And get me a beer. Something Corellian, if you've got it. Thanks." Seated in a secluded booth, Jack will turn back to Savi and Doc, "My treat."

Doc thanks Jack but after the 'water' arrives he quickly slides a small cred stick over and asks for some more beers instead "As your doctor I'd strongly advise sticking to the beer, the alcohol should kill off anything nasty....the water may be a bit more of a gamble" he says quietly to the others with a small chuckle.

Their first job under their belts, coupled with the gestures made by his companions, Savi sits back, blows out a breath and relaxes for what seems like the first time since he faked his own death.

With a genuine smile on his face he leans forward, takes his beer, and asks, "Why can you never count on a Chandra-fan to pick you the tab?"

Seeing the surprised and confused looks on the other two as they pause mid-sip, he continues, "Because they're always a little short."

Despite their groans, Savi gives a good belly laugh and holds his glass up. "To a job done and another on the horizon." - the double entendre fully intentional.

Jack dismisses Doc's thanks with a small wave of his hand. Admittedly, he partly wanted to pay for his meal because if it weren't for him, Doc wouldn't even have to be here, scraping out a living. He'd never admit it, but Jack always had a knot of guilt in his stomach when speaking to the Jasvan, and some part of him thought that paying for his meal might alleviate some of that.

Grateful to Savi for distracting him from that train of thought, Jack smirks at his quip, raising his drink slightly and giving a lazy "Hear, hear" in reply.

Part of him wished he wasn't in the cantina. He suddenly had an urge to ask Savi and Doc about Thessa and her 'friends,' but nothing good would come from discussing any such concerns in her place of employment. Instead, Jack just says, "As bumpy as this was, I can't imagine the next going any smoother."

A few more minutes pass, then you see Thessa emerge from the back of the cantina. She walks over to your table and beckons you to follow her. "Come, we have a private room in the back for special guests."
Jan 13, 2017 10:22 am
Jack, nearing the end of his beer by that point, acquires another from the bar before following Thessa.
Jan 13, 2017 10:39 am
Doc stands up, still nursing his first drink, and follows the others into the back
Jan 13, 2017 11:26 am
Savi, anticipating a potential negotiation, leaves the dregs of his first drink, picks up a water, and follows the group into the private room.

You walk down a short hall and turn into a small chamber. The space is filled with a round booth curved around a table, and you step inside you feel a light tingle, as if passing through a charged field. Thessa slides in to the back, and gestures for all of you to join her. The tactically minded amoung you recognize this as a sign of trust...she won't be able to get out of the booth once you have joined her. "Please, sit. We have privacy in here."
Jan 14, 2017 12:18 pm
Doc follows Thessa in and takes a seat.
OOC:
Has Avox joined up with us again at this point?
Jan 14, 2017 6:51 pm
Jack slides into the booth, looking at Thessa expectantly.
Jan 14, 2017 6:57 pm
Savi follows suit and slides in on the other side of Thessa - more so that Jack can get out easily rather than to hem Thessa in.

He then, as he was taught, waits for his negotiating partner to speak first.
