Psybermagi says:
I'll have to look into TaBA. I have yet to play any of the middle Earth games, this I live the books and movies.
TaBA is, to me, sort of like if
Microlite and
Strange Magic worked on an art project together. It's great for one-shots, and can easily be worked into another setting or even genre. I milked the "first run of
The Hobbit" whimsy and played a Woman from Lake-town who was a skin-changer and had a pistol. There was an Elf, a Dwarf from the Misty Mountains, a Goblin, a Man I invited, and... jeez, I think a burrowing creature that talked in our group? We had full-blown conversations with Giant Spiders and a good time.
Adventures in Middle-earth, played that, wasn't a big fan. It had its promise, and might appeal to some.
Others, haven't really looked at them...
