You drop to your knees before the shadowy figure. It bends over you and you raise your head to meet it's gaze. There is nothing below the hood but blackness. Gazing into the abyss of it's hood you feel it try to drain you of your humanity.
OOC:
Mechanically you just spent your entire turn kneeling on the ground and this is the monsters next turn. Make me a DC 15 con saving throw, on a pass take half damage. Your hit point total is reduced by the damage you take, as if lost by dying. It can be restored by consuming humanity at a bonfire as per usual. Pass the save or not you are freed from the creatures temporary control and can take your turn as normal.

This time all your blows seem effective, but the strange whispyness of the creature seems to render your blows less effective. The creature retaliates with a strike of it's grotesque claws, but you slide out of the way just in time to dodge the swipe.

OOC:
I'm sorry, I actually needed to make a Concentration Check to see if I can hold onto Hunter's Mark after taking that damage from before. It's DC 10.

Edit: So after getting hit, Hunter's Mark failed. I would have cast it again right after, so just ignore the 3rd attack on my triplet of strikes right after taking damage, since I would've used that Bonus Action to recast it before attacking, instead of swinging a third time. Sorry about that!

That's fine I'll edit that in...
It's hard to read such a feature less creature, but you would almost say it is becoming desperate. You finally notice a sound that has been there all along, a low keening just sub-audible. It has slowly been growing louder as the fight progressed and is, though you have only just consciously registered it. The sound pulls on your dead heart, calling for you to give up. The shadow strikes at you again once again you avoid it.

Rolls

Attack - (1d20+5)

Harmia hisses through the pain, dealing a quick riposte back against the creature.
OOC:
Weird? Attack 2 didn't go through.

OOC:
Not that it matters for this combat can you roll concentration for hunters mark, if your not pressing on though just ignore this.
Your strikes cause the wail to crescendo splitting your ears for a second before it reverberates into nothingness. The monster turns to ash and you absorb the Soul of the Ashen Wraith. Where it stood two sprites of humanity float, and a bonfire has appeared on the ground.

Other than the way you came in the only exit is a doer made of solid stone.

OOC:
I keep forgetting! Thanks! Also, that was a Succubus, yeah?
Harmia, panting, drops her blades to the ground with a loud clang, and sinks to her knees. Her hands still shake from the experience with the wraith, and she rubs them down her face. Slowly, she's able to steady her breathing and come back to her senses, and she heads over, collecting the humanities and lighting the bonfire, and she takes a rest.
OOC:
Going to examine the soul!

Edit: Also, does my max hp return when resting at the bonfire?

Rolls

Concentration for shits and giggles! - (1d20+2)

(11) + 2 = 13

Feb 16, 2017 7:50 am
OOC:
Mostly, I changed the typing, resistances to incorporeality, made some slight adjustments to the enthral and draining kiss powers to balance it for one on one combat. Good spot!

Think about any reduction to your max health as you going hollow. So if you want your health back you'll need to offer a humanity sprite at a bonfire.
Soul of the Ashen Wraith. In the days the light first faded strange creatures tended to divine flames that ease the pain of those who were cursed. It seems the something in the tomb has extinguished one of this creatures, leaving behind a terrible creature of ash and sorrow. Offer to a bonfire to gain 1100xp, use for trading or to create a powerful item.
Feb 16, 2017 7:54 am
Harmia offers up the soul to the bonfire.
OOC:
going to level! Does this apply for Tosti's Harmia, too?
Feb 16, 2017 8:14 am
OOC:
Becouse you only just got there I'm going to say yes.
Feb 16, 2017 8:40 am
OOC:
Thanks! I'll do it quick!
Feb 16, 2017 9:59 pm
While resting, Harmia feels empowered by the light of the fire. Feeling hopeful, she absorbs one of the humanities she's acquired, restoring herself to a fully living state.
OOC:
Spent both Soul of Ashen Wraith and Ashen Forest to level up. Spent a Humanity to recover HP.

Only big change from leveling is that I have Greater Favored Enemy now. I picked Monstrosities for my 2nd type. +4 damage to both F.E.'s and I have advantage on saving throws from their spells/abilities.

OOC:
Why would your favoured enemies be undead and monstrosities? I mean only everything your fighting are in those catagories.... Makes no sense! ;)
Where to next?
Genisisect says:
Other than the way you came in the only exit is a doer made of solid stone.
Feb 17, 2017 8:07 am
Her senses restored, she feels a pull - as if from nowhere - to press onward. She stands, collecting her blades off of the ground, and proceeds to push upon the stone door.
OOC:
Right?! It's crazy that I would pick those things in a DS game. Though, I could've picked Plants right before helping Tosti with his plant-beast.
