Dustin follows Stool to the back of the cave.

Thanks Stool, I appreciate it. Bildaweer, first I want to apologize. Your idea about a bribe might carry some weight. I guess I am just being overly cautious. Let's show the others what we found and get out of these chains. I don't want to end up like Ront.
OOC:
Yes he is ending up being a lot nicer and social then I thought he would.

Cemos makes his way over to dustin and bildaweer he give fang the nod to come over. Having dustin back his lockpicks he says in a hushed tone. I am glade you have returned and it looks like our situation might be worse then I thought. I have the ability to reach out with my spirit and sence things, and there is not only a great evil in this place but also there is desecrated ground very near by used for some nefarious act no doubt. And our Lady dwarf friend here has nightmares of some sort. Talking about tentacles and buzzing.

We will have to approach the scarred one very carefully. We need to find out exactly how and why he was scarred. Hmm . . . well there seems to be three ways out. If we go to the north which seems to be the easiest, we'll be within sight of the guard tower outside. There's a guard also just out of sight to the right. He bears the gate key on a mithral chain. Mithral is very hard and unlikely to break with what we got on hand.

When we were outside the gate, a quaggoth held a long main chain and guards took small chains connected to main one which secured to back of our waists.

Ront was killed. A drow shoved an arrow into eye and pushed him off ledge into a web below, three spiders cocooned him for a later meal. Once we we started working, the drow guards left and we were watched by a quaggoth.

We noticed an escape route to the south and one to the west. The western escape can be accessed by a cage lift although two quaggoths stand guard.
OOC:
Just for clarification - on the map the escape routes are areas 1 and 13 and then the far western tunnel.

Stool stands, quivering with excitement. So excited, in fact, that he hasn't said anything to you at all, just stands there excitedly.

**TIMING NOTE** At this point, waiting for Fang to post up about his activity in the pen before your dinner shows up.

Dustin thanks Cemos taking the picks back.

I don't know what to think about those dreams. They do not sound pleasant. Dustin nodded sadly when Bildaweer spoke of Ront's death. In the end he fought and lost his eye in battle, I suppose in that way he pleased his peoples god.

He looked to Eldrith with a brief nod to acknowledge her.

The scared drow feels guilt and embarrassment over his wounds. I think they make him feel like he is less of a warrior, or cost him more then just status among his own. We did find some things which might help us out. I don't know what is in this bottle, we also found this paper and a bolt.

The paper has Undercommon writing scrawled on it.

Can anyone read this ? Dustin said looking at the writing.

Dustin tries to sniff the bottle trying to figure out what is in it.

The note appears to be a letter. It mentions Menzoberranzan, that transport trip is later than normal and the author expresses anxiety about an Elite that was wounded. I bet the author is talking about Jorlan.
OOC:
Perception check to see if I can tell if the writing is male or female.

Perception - (1d20+1)

(14) + 1 = 15

Anyone can make a Medicine or Nature check to try identifying what's in the bottle. Judging on where you found it and the writing, you think it was a male guard (since all the guards are male).

Fang, no, you don't have material components (unless you've scrounged them here, I'm willing to see if you have. let me know the components). You also don't have your focus (which typically allows you to ignore cost-less material components).

Medicine attempt

Hmm think it's alcohol.

Passes the bottle over to Fang.

Ok let me try and help get people out of their chains. If we are going to make a break that will help and give people weapons as well.

I have meditated on a spell that will allow me to beguile one guard. Perhaps that in conjunction with the bribe will get us out of here.

Hmmm try the bribe first, elves and it pains me to admit it but drow are elves are resistant to charms and such ensorcellments. Still those Quaggoth though might be ripe for such magic. Hey Jimjar know anything about locks ?
OOC:
How do I handle trying to unmanacle several people.
Dec 1, 2016 7:21 pm
Your first step is going to be to get your wrists free. I'll end up wanting 2 disadvantaged sleight of hand checks. It will take you a period of about fifteen to twenty minutes to accomplish. Once your arms are free, it will be a standard sleight of hand check and about five minutes of work per other person you do (longer than normal picking times because you are using an improvised pick). You estimate Jorlan has been gone for about 10 minutes already, and is likely to be back w/in 5 minutes with dinner.
OOC:
Running off to a meeting. Will post up about Jimjar and the dinner arrival when I'm done.

OOC:
Ok thanks I will hold off then with Jorlan coming back so soon don't want to be mid picking and found out.
