The Last Ambush

Ishala's shot finds its mark and the officer on the ground limbs go limp, his blaster dropping on his chest.
OOC:
At this point the encounter is over. There are two dead officers, one with a datapad. There are three dead and one unconscious trooper in the street.

The transport is no longer there. From a previous post:

The group gathers in front of the transport where they appear to have a quick discussion before sending the transport on its way.

As the officer falls limp, Ishala runs for the stairs, calling into her comm, "Quick, get the bodies inside before the guards come back."

"Grab whatever you can find."
OOC:
Updated my previous post as well!

C6 runs out, making a beeline for the officers body that was holding the data pad, scooping it up into his pack he flicks on his comms "There's no way to hide what happened here, and this will be the most likely place they will start a search for the team given they were dropped off here. I suggest we leave the bodies where they are and withdraw" he then leans down to quickly examine the body for anything of note.
OOC:
Just to clarify I was putting the data pad into my pack (didn't read particularly clearly when I read that back)

"I'm not as worried about the imps as I am getting into a firefight with innocent people." Ishala runs over to the troopers and grabs a bucket, placing it on her head to listen in on the comms while she looks over the armor. She pauses for a moment as she sees the young face beneath the helmet, and a look of sadness crosses her face before she gets back to the task at hand. More innocents, anyway. Poor barv. Half these troopers probably don't know what they signed up for, have no idea what they are representing.

Perception: is any of the armor salvageable?

Bast hurries out into the street at a jogging pace, strapping his rifle once more onto his backpack. He walks about, collecting blasters and either hooking them onto his load-bearing gear or stuffing them into his backpack wherever they might fit. He catches Ishala staring at the trooper beneath the helmet, and even though he didn't quite notice her look of sadness, he can assume well enough due to their similar backgrounds. Not to mention that Xin asked them to keep weapons on stun, but unfortunately the convoy didn't get close enough and the droid was about to locate them.

He desperately wants to rally them with a few choice words, but nothing is coming to him, and Bast simply continues to collect the weapons. Once done, he'll begin dragging troopers into the first floor of the building and setting them side-by-side. "Seems wrong to leave them lying out in the street," he says as his only excuse, not trying to take sides between his two allies.

C6 displays no emotional response at the comments from his companions and with a monotone "Very well" he grabs the legs of the officer and starts trying to drag him back....trying being the best description
OOC:
C6 has only got 1 Brawn guys so he's gonna struggle lol

It appears that one of the final acts of the officer with the datapad was to lock the device down and while it is now in your possession accessing its contents will take a bit of work. A search of the others turns up the standard equipment one might expect to find on Storm Trooper and Imperial officers, weapons, comm-links, etc. The other officer, however, is carrying four small envelopes, each with a number written on it. Inside each envelope are differing amounts of Imperial Credits.

Ishala doesn't hear any chatter over the Imperial comms and determines that the armor for all of the Troopers, other than the one that is still unconscious, is beyond repair.
OOC:
As it's the end of the encounter each of you may roll a Simple (no Purple) Discipline or Cool check to recover Strain.
Access to the datapad will take a 3 Purple Difficulty Computer check. Failing that someone can give me a two purple Streetwise check.

One set of Storm Trooper armor appears to be salvageable.
One Storm Trooper is still alive, but unconscious.

Envelope #23-A23 - 400 Credits
Envelope #23-A24 - 400 Credits
Envelope #44-A25 - 600 Credits
Envelope #01-A01 - 1000 Credits

OOC:
C6 has neither Discipline or Cool but his Will is better than Presence so I'll be trying Discipline (Edit: so is that 2 strain back then?)

Unless anyone has any specialisation at slicing I can attempt a computers check on the data pad 1 yellow and 1 green (2 Int, 1 Computers), or we can try a combined check if a couple of us get over it (so if anyone has either a better stat or skill)

Yep, two Strain with that roll.

Ishala gives the unconscious guard an injection from her medkit that will keep him under for at least an hour, but won't harm him otherwise. She strips him of his armor and bundles it up.
OOC:
I'm going to choose not to regain strain, if that's alright. I think any strain she got back would just be replaced by having killed all those people from ambush.

Bast wipes the sweat from his brow after they drag in the last of the troopers. "We should leave, now. Quick-like," he says, stepping back out into the street.
OOC:
Going for Discipline.

C6 points his blaster pistol at the unconscious trooper "This trooper may have seen us, at least he may have seen enough to identify us. Shall I eliminate him?"
Dec 31, 2016 10:50 pm
Ishala flings out a hand, "No!" and looks down at the ground. "There's been enough killing today. Leave him." She looks around at her companions, "Planned or not, we crossed a line today. There may be no going back to our old lives. Even if they can't ID us, they're not going to take this lightly." She follows Bast into the street and switches her rifle to stun.

C6 watches Ishla leave and then turns his expressionless face towards the trooper....

....after staring at the trooper for a few seconds he shakes his head and exits the same way as the others.

Bast is relieved that Ishala replied so swiftly. It saved him from making the choice. He understood the dangers of leaving that trooper alive, felt naive by wanting to do so anyway, but he also didn't think he could order an execution. He frowns, turning to Ishala as she approaches. "You alright?" He asks, heading down the street and away from the ambush site, checking behind him to make sure the group was departing together.

The sadness returns to her face. "We trained with kids like that, led kids like that. Now we're slaughtering them from ambush, with no warning. Most of them are just too simple or idealistic to see through the Imperial propaganda, but I'm not sure that means they deserve to die."
Jan 3, 2017 12:40 pm
I keep to myself as the others talk. There's nothing I can say that they don't know already. What's done is done.
OOC:
Sorry, I did it again. Will refill...
