The Last Ambush

With a combination of knowledgeable fiddling and a bit of luck the power is restored to the datapad. Ishala, recalling some of her past experience using Imperial equipment, is able to access a few of the different pages. The first is a layout of the city, with the path of the now destroyed droid overlaid on top. It appears that the droid's entire purpose was to detect lifeforms along its planned path. Obviously the past ambushes have the resource teams a little jumpy.

The second page is simply a list of names, numbers, and locations within the city of Falu:
Whaymel Lectronfire - #23-A23 - Residential Location (Private Dwelling)
Basked Shipburn - #23-A24 - Business Location (AAA Mining Supplies)
Mirach Mucecud - #44-A25- Residential Location (Apartment Complex and Apartment #)
Grewhit Gen - #01-A01 - Business Location (GHG Heavy Industries)

Everyone has heard of Grewhit Gen, the owner of GHG Heavy Industries. He's a staunch supporter of The Empire and it has been rumored that he is using their recent appearance as a means of driving away some of his competition. The others are not immediately familiar to any of you.
OOC:
@mcneils5: So you want to use the advantages for cosmetic surgery? :-) I'm good with that.

At the satisfying beep that the datapad emits, Bast gets up and peers over Ishala's shoulder at its contents. "So is the Empire paying off these folk, or paying them for services rendered?" Bast questions aloud, looking around to his compatriots.

OOC:
Yeah, while the fleshbags in the party can cover their wounds with clothing after a fight I can't remember any droids in Star Wars that had a tendancy to wear anything at all really so I figured we'd need to take measures to hide any injuries C6 takes
Looking at the repairs Ishala has made to his chassis C6 looks at her "A most satisfactory job, you have my thanks" he says sounding as pleased as you have probably ever heard him.

He gets up and joins the others studying the list "I believe the only way to answer that question would be to ask the individual's listed here" he says in response to Bast's question "I'm sure we can be very persuasive"

Ishala raises her eybrows, "Maybe something a little less...direct to start with? Why don't we run a holo search on them, see what we can dig up?"
Jan 9, 2017 7:12 pm
Bast was about to agree wholeheartedly with C6-9K before Ishala put forward a much less aggressive and downright wiser approach. He gives Ishala an affirmative nod and says, "That's what I was going to suggest, too."

Ishala does a HoloNet search on each of the names, including the business information when it is available.

Whaymel Lectronfire - #23-A23 - Residential Location (Private Dwelling)
Basked Shipburn - #23-A24 - Business Location (AAA Mining Supplies)
Mirach Mucecud - #44-A25- Residential Location (Apartment Complex and Apartment #)
Grewhit Gen - #01-A01 - Business Location (GHG Heavy Industries)

Searching the HoloNet, Ishala and the others are able to piece together the following information about the four names found in the datapad:

Whaymel Lectronfire: Whaymel and his wife Wupera are the owners of the 'Fallen Falu Grill' an eatery not too far from where the ambush took place. The residential location listed in the datapad is the Lectronfire residence where Whaymel and Wupera live with their two young children.

Basked Shipburn: Owner of AAA Mining Supplies in the center of town who has seen a lot of business ever since the activity at the site started. Rumor has it that he's actually met Captain Isskar Cronwick, the man assigned the task of heading up the proceedings at the site. He's a strong supporter of Imperial rule and isn't shy about sharing this opinion to anyone that will listen.

Mirach Mucecud: The young women is a member of the Falu Security Force and appears to be well liked within the force and within the community. There are several news stories where her name appears, usually as a responding officer to some sort of disturbance, but nothing that jumps out as overly intersting. If she has political leanings one way or the other she keeps them to herself. The apartment complex and number appear to be for a single person occupancy.

Grewhit Gen: For someone so well known about town, there isn't a lot of public information on the man. Owner of GHG Heavy Industries and a shrewd/vicious business man.

"Anything useful? Where to begin?" I watch in avid interest as the two attempt to acquire leads.

Ishala considers the information with a furrowed brow. "Clearly the four envelopes correspond to these four people. Perhaps payments for materiel? That would make sense for the Lectronfires, they would have access to food supplies. And Shipburn and Gen could be supplying machinery. But I'm left with two big questions: what are they paying the cop for, and what the kriff are they doing out there?

"Maybe... hey, Xin, maybe you could talk to one of them?" Bast asks, turning to the Bothan, "You know, say something clever and get them to accidentally say more than they mean to. Psychology, and all." Bast looks hopeful, even if he's the last person to know anything about clever conversation. He looks back toward the rest of the group and says, "Might be worth a try before we do anything more aggressive. At the very least, if Xin went to go and talk to them, she could let us know what the interior looks like, in case we have to break in anywhere and do a more thorough investigation ourselves."
Jan 13, 2017 9:27 pm
As the talk moves away from a more 'direct' approach C6 loses a certain amount of interest and sits in a corner waiting for the others to decide on a course of action....if it was possible for a droid to reek of boredom you're pretty sure this is what it looks like.
OOC:
I forgot I'd taken the Second Wind talent for C6 so I'm going to pop it now to get a point of strain back
Jan 13, 2017 11:20 pm
"It's my job to be clever, is it not?"
Jan 13, 2017 11:55 pm
Bast grins, "Exactly! So maybe you could talk to them and figure out what's going on."
Jan 16, 2017 10:40 pm
OOC:
So what's the plan?
Jan 16, 2017 11:38 pm
OOC:
I was just waiting for any other opinions :)
Jan 17, 2017 12:49 am
Ishala nods in agreement. "Great plan."
Jan 18, 2017 2:47 am
"Then it's agreed. This plan involves little to no violence, so I like it already. The question is, with whom should we start?" I look over the intel once more and let it roll around in my head for a bit.
Jan 19, 2017 8:00 am
"I would suggest we start with Whaymel Lectronfire" C6 says in his usual monotone "They would seem to be the least public of the named individuals, least likely to have a security detail, and also they have a family so they would potentially be more willing to talk to avoid any trouble" after pausing for a moment to let his words sink in he continues "Additionally it may be an opportunity to get the recipe for his Bespin Batha Surprise....I've heard it is exquisite"
Jan 20, 2017 6:37 am
Bast gives the droid a look after that last comment; He simply could not figure him out. "That sounds like a plan to me, too," he says, turning to look back at Xin. "Kind of seems that we shouldn't all go, however. We should limit how much the four of us are seen together." He chews on his lip as he ponders, "I also don't want to sit idle and make Xin do all the work. Anything else we could try to figure out in that datapad?"
Jan 21, 2017 10:31 am
Ishala smiles at Bast's reaction. "That sounds like an excellent plan. I agree the civvies are the place to start. So, Xin and Cook will go talk to them, and Bast and I will work on the datapad?"
