Bast lets out a chuckle and adds sarcastically, "Yes, ma'am. Understood, ma'am." He runs a hand over his hair, opening up the door for Ishala to step through. "You know, you were one of the better officers I knew. From back then."
OOC:
Only assuming Ishala was an officer, due to medical training. If not, I'll change it!

I nod slowly. "Completely off the record? I've heard similar from many others. There are some, shall we say 'concerns', about their increased presence." I lower my voice. "Have they been harassing you, sir, or your family? I want to be able to help in any way that I can."
Feb 1, 2017 10:18 am
Ishala grins as she walks out the door. "You're not wrong, so of my classmates were right shabs. Remember Juris Getchell?"

Whaymel takes a deep breath and slowly exhales. "Harassing? No. I wouldn't call what they've been up to harassing as much as unrelenting annoyance."

"Same thing!" Wupera says with an edge in her voice.

Slowly nodding in agreement with his wife he continues, "She's right. It's gotten to the point where I've had to ask some of those thugs working for the empire to leave. Always wanting me to spy on my own customers. I just won't do it!!"

"They even tried to bribe him the one time, 100 credits for a list of rebellion sympathizers!" Wupera adds. "Said they were going to talk to someone more 'official' about persuading Whaymel to spy. If that's not harassment, I don't know what is!"

After a brief moment of silence you notice that the little girl has wandered up to the door and is peeking between her mother's legs. "Who's the droid, Mommy!?!?" she asks, pointing towards C6-9K.
OOC:
Heading over to check on GHG Heavy Industries??

"Mmhm," Bast murmurs with a grin, "Hardly knew how to read a surface map, let alone a galactic one. In one day - one day - he had two accidental discharges with his weapon." He laughs a bit, "But of course he slid by, cause of his father."

OOC:
Yup, just strolling by, nice and casual, looking at all the buildings so it's not obvious we're casing the joint. Also find one to go into, to give a reason for us to be there.

C6 was trying to look as unobtrusive as possible but when he heard the small voice he looked down at the little girl "Greetings small lifeform. I am C6-9K, I assist my colleague here in various ways in addition to preparation of meals and other things designated as 'snacks'" he says, really trying to sound friendly.
Feb 3, 2017 2:40 am
Before her parents can stop her the little girl runs out of the house, brushing up against Xin on the way, and over to the droid. "Hi C6-9K! I'm Lanya, Do you have snacks?"

Wupera, slightly embarrassed by her daughter's behavior, looks over to C6-9K and mouths "sorry".

"Lanya, get back here. You just ate!"
The narrow and tight streets of Falu open up significantly as Ishala and Bast approach the Industrial District. To your immediate left is the building of interest; GHG Heavy Industries.

A nondescript building the covered front entrance leads to large double doors. A security guard, leaning against the wall next to the door, casually checks the IDs of those who are entering the building. With a quick look you notice several security cameras along the perimeter of the roof.

To the right are a couple of smaller buildings; Ruhak's Active Wear and Mernoki Engineering. Ruhak's Active Wear has been in business for as long as anyone can remember and manufacture high end active wear for just about every sentient species that populates the planet. They have a small showroom up front, but the majority of the building is used for manufacturing.

Mernoki Engineering is a new engineering firm that specializes in producing specialized manufacturing droids. This building is strictly an office used for research and development.

Bast groans, "That doesn't look fun." He eyes the cameras, trying to detect any blind spots that may be present.

"Greeting Lanya, I'm afraid I do not currently have any snacks. C6 says sounding somewhat sad, casting a glance at Xin to insinuate there may be a reason for the lack of snacks "It is indeed a dark day".
OOC:
I was thinking about using a Destiny point to have some snacks but we're all out....which was also kind of a worrying realisation that there are 5 Dark Side points hanging over us lol

"It is true. I... it's been a long morning and I'm afraid the stresses of the day perhaps made me hungrier than I am, typically, at this time of day." I give a look of embarrassment to C6-9K.

"I am troubled by this news of payments. Does the empire have any reason to believe that you employ resistance sympathizers? Or is this simply something that they ask of all businesses? What business is it that you run, if you don't mind my asking?"

Ishala murmurs, "Play along," then pulls out her datapad, and gives Bast an exasperated look. She berates him, "I told you it wasn't over here...it's that way!" She points down the street toward the back of the GHG building. "Men! Never want to read the map, always think they know where they're going." She throws up her hands and marches off down the street in the direction she indicated.

Looking at the layout and coverage of the security cameras Bast is fairly certain that there may be some blind spots that can be taken advantage of if a careful approach is taken. Unfortunately his investigation has drawn some unwanted attention from the guard stationed by the entrance. The man starts to walk towards Bast and Ishala, the latter's performance only drawing more attention to the pair.

The man gets no further than about ten or so meters from his station when a group of employees heads towards the entrance. With one more glance towards the duo the guard heads back to his station to check on the IDs of the employees entering the building.
"Awwww" Lanya moans, her hopes of an early morning snack dashed. "Maybe next time" she says, as she shuffles back towards her front door.

"Wupera and I run the Fallen Falu Grill." Whaymel says. "We get all kinds of people in there and people talk. Guess the Imperials would think I'd be able to point out customers who may be sympathetic to the resistance. No way I'd rat out my customers, no matter what their opinion of the resistance might be."

"We just want them to leave us alone." Wupera adds.

Ishala hisses, "Stop being so obvious. I'm a terrible actor."
Feb 5, 2017 12:08 pm
Bast looks around, baffled for a moment by Ishala's quick improvisation. Likely, it was mostly his confusion and blundering that hindered her plan. "I don't think I could do any better," he mutters to Ishala once the guard is walking away.

"Here," he says, not-so-subtly pointing to the alleyway before he catches himself and is a bit more discreet. "I think if we actually go behind that building there," he gestures to the active wear building, "Then we might be able to sneak around to the side of the building and stay out of sight of the cameras."

He begins to lead the way, unless Ishala protests.
Feb 7, 2017 12:33 am
Ishala follows him.
Feb 7, 2017 4:46 am
"Of course! Home of the Bespin Batha Surprise! I thought I recognized you! That dish is absolutely delightful. If only my droid chef here could learn how to create such a wonderful dish." I sigh wistfully.
Feb 8, 2017 11:07 pm
With the guard busy dealing with his normal duties you are able to move into the alleyway without drawing his attention. The narrow alleyway, while not dirty, is home to both of the adjacent business' trash receptacles, which makes for a tight squeeze as you walk through and reach the back of Ruhak's Active Wear.

There are several employees out behind the building taking a break, a few of them smoke, while the others chat amongst themselves. A male Twi'lek is the first to see you as you round the corner. Startled, he jumps, spilling his drink over his work uniform.

While several of his coworkers start to laugh the Twi'lek's face turn sour as he stares down the surprise guests.

"Employees only!" he yells. "You two need to go back the way you came from."

Several of his coworkers line up behind him as a show of support.
Whaymel gives Xin a proud smile at the mention of his restaurant's specialty.

"I'm glad that you're such a fan. Perhaps if you're in the area you can stop by for a bite to eat." he offers as he slowly starts to edge back into his house. "It'll even be on the house if you can do something about those thugs that keep showing up."

Looking back to ensure both of his children our inside he says, "I'm glad you stopped by, but if there's nothing else, we really need to get ready for our day."
Feb 8, 2017 11:12 pm
Bast approaches the Twi'lek, scratching the back of his head and looking around like he's confused. "Really? Oh, sorry. Can I bum a smoke from one of you first?" He tries to get as close to their group as he can, using the opportunity to look around the rear of the building for any significant details.
