Cat, as you look at the items, you don't immediately recognize most of them. They seem to be local houses, possibly mining guild symbols for some of them.

I push my way past the others. "You Balandur? We're looking for a dead Lord."
May 7, 2018 1:20 pm
Aye, aye. I'm Balandur. What's this? Dead Lord? No lords of the dead here. Maybe beyond the mountain there are those that would make a skeleton their lord. We down here prefer our lords breathing, thank you very much. he says, voice full of that grumpy old man tone.

Baraq squawks, "Where is Long Reach King?"
May 8, 2018 1:50 am
Long Reach King? Who is - oh, do you mean the King of the Long Reaches? Aye, now that is a name I've not heard for many years. He's been dead near on to a thousand years now, by my reckonin'. Legends tell that he was buried in the mountains, ensconced in a proper dwarven tomb. They said that the first sun of summer, breaking through twin towers of glistening granite, would fall in such a way as to bathe him in light every year. Never did like clambering around the mountains. Messy cold work. But these dwarves have access to ancient knowledge I'd be a fool to ignore. he says. You notice a tremor in his hands, but his eyes bore into you, as clear as anything you've ever seen.

Baraq rolls her eyes. "Where?" she asks again.
May 13, 2018 12:58 am
"You'll show us the way?" Aera asks.
May 19, 2018 5:52 pm
Show you the way? Clearly not. Look at me! Do you think I could possibly go climbing across the granite faces of the mountains in my condition? No, you could find a guide to the mountains in town, or seek it out your own if you want to save the coin. I do have some maps here that could help you find it, if you'd like. You can't take them with you, of course, but you certainly can make a copy or whatever notes you'd like about them. You lad, you look like you know your way around books and maps and the like. he finishes, nodding his head towards Rolen.

"Climbing...granite faces?" Catriona gasps, wide-eyed. How could she ever manage that? If she could only shapeshift into a bird! As she has grown accustomed to, she too looks to Rolen.

Rolen smiles at Catriona "I'm guessing it's a figure of speech; a personification of sorts." He turns back to Balandur, his face returning back to neutral "These maps of yours lead to the tomb, yes? You'd have to be blind or stupid to be inept to find something as large as a mountain. Is this the last stop before the mountain or are there other places along the way?"
May 30, 2018 10:26 pm
"I can carry you on my back. Leave you by the edge of the mountain and come back for you afterwards."
May 31, 2018 5:12 pm
There may be small camps in the mountains proper, aye, but this is the last thing larger than a few tents or a shack or two you'll find. And not exactly a figure of speech. You'll see in the mountains. Pure granite, most of them. Several very sheer faces. he says, moving about, looking for a map. Ah, here it is. It's not quite a map to the tomb, but it gets you into the general area of the mountains where the tomb is rumored to reside lad.

"I suppose that is better than nothing." Rolen says under his breath, as he sets upon the maps, taking notes of anything that stands out. He turns to Catriona "Since this is our last big stop, take note of your supplies and plan ahead."

Rolen, as you make studious observation of the maps, you can see that the area south of the city is well-detailed. However, north of the city, you can see that areas are relatively uncharted. The mountains are clearly delineated and you see a few areas where some spires are indicated. Some hastily scribbled notes seem to rule out the two western-most spires, leaving a pair of possible locations. One to the north of the city, another to the northeast.

Rolen places his hand on the map and shaka brahs the two uncrossed markings "And these are the twin towers of granite? But two sets...that would make them quadruplet towers, no?"
Jun 3, 2018 1:03 am
Very observant lad. They are two similar granite towers. I ruled out these others years ago as a young man. Never did get around to investigating the other pair. It'd be one of those two you should seek though. the man says, somewhat cryptically.

"And any idea of which might be the better bet? OR anyway we'd be able to find that out without visiting both?"
Jun 4, 2018 4:07 am
"Send the flyers, they look at both and report back?"
