Felor closes his eyes and takes a deep breath. This particular chant always draws his thoughts back to the mountains, he could seem them now in his mind's eye.

Edit: Add the previous Guidance roll (3) to this roll if possible, not sure of the timespan on that effect.

None of you notice anything out of the ordinary. The Frater beckons you to follow him out.
Aug 27, 2015 6:46 am
Felor looks at the other two, shrugs, and moves to follow the Frater.
Aug 27, 2015 3:49 pm
The party is escorted back to the vestibule of the temple. The Frater gives you a gentle nod and a curt smile, indicating that perhaps it is time for you to be moving on.

Leth frowns. "Well... that was useless." He says with a sigh, and then looks at Vad. "Alright, looks like it's time to be heading out to the Ophid."
Aug 28, 2015 10:05 am
"At least we have some insight into what's behind these crown-men. It's something... old. And if it's as old as that tomb, and still has some power... it must be powerful indeed. We must be cautious. But for now, we best set off, as you say."
Aug 28, 2015 4:04 pm
The party heads out of the temple.

At the bottom of the temple steps stand two justiciars and five men of the city watch. One of the justiciars, a tall, yellow-haired man with a scar running through his bottom lip, looks up at the three of you and smiles placidly. "Good morning," he says. "You are the friends of Edvers Kells, if I'm not mistaken?"
Aug 28, 2015 4:24 pm
Growing frustrated with this whole endeavor, Vad tries to answer the man as calmly as possible. "Who wants to know?"
Aug 28, 2015 4:29 pm
The justiciar's smile is infinitely patient. "The Tetrarchs and citizens of the city of Sthombo, whom we serve."
Aug 28, 2015 4:54 pm
The Justicar's infinite patience is matched by Felor's complete lack of it.
"Aye? And what of it?"
Aug 28, 2015 5:10 pm
"Two women, travelers from Banwod, were slain last night. You were seen with them. I must ask you to come with us. We would question you."
Aug 28, 2015 5:43 pm
"Dead?" Leth asks sorrowfully. It was what they had suspected, but to hear it said aloud was the nail in the coffin, so to speak.

"When? Where? How? Do you have any leads on who did it?" He asks in a rapid fire manner.
Aug 28, 2015 5:47 pm
Scarlip makes a subtle gesture, and the guards fan out to march up the steps on either side of the party. "The questions are ours to ask, woodsman. You will come with us."
Aug 28, 2015 5:47 pm
"There's no need for that." Leth says, crossing his arms. "I can tell you everything you want to know, right here, in less than sixty seconds."

"We took Edver's body out for burial. While we were there we were attacked - twice - by men who carried weapons with a unique symbol carved into them. Now naturally, when someone tries to murder you, you want to find out who did it and why, right? So we came back here to Sthombo and asked around to see if anyone knew what the symbol was, as it was pretty much our only clue. Those two women were just some of the people we spoke to. I probably talked to them for an entire minute, and that was it. They said they'd ask around for me. That's the last time we saw them, and that's all we know about it. So if you want to find out more, start looking around for that symbol. Maybe you'll have more luck than us. I even think we kept one of our attacker's daggers that had the symbol; you can have it if you want."
Aug 28, 2015 5:52 pm
Felor tightens his grip on his spear and eyes the guards warily.
Aug 28, 2015 5:53 pm
The other justiciar rests his hand meaningfully on the hilt of his scimitar. The city guards flank you, spears held at the ready.

"Friend," Scarlip says gently, "I will not ask you again. Come with us."
Aug 28, 2015 6:11 pm
Seeing himself and the others completely surrounded Vad raises his hands into the air. "May as well play nice, I suppose."
Aug 28, 2015 6:14 pm
"Very well. But we have urgent business out of town so will have to be on our way before sunset."

Felor will go with the justicars but not volunteer to surrender his weapons etc.
Aug 28, 2015 6:16 pm
Vad, you have to be positively humming with unspent magical energy by now.

The unscarred justiciar chuckles at Felor's comment about leaving by sunset.

"I really don't see the point, since I litereally just told you eveything we know... but if it makes you feel better, sure, we'll come along." Leth says, clearly annoyed.

Couple out of game questions.
I'd heard flanking doesn't exist in 5th edition? So if the guards attack us from their current positions, would they get any kind of bonus from flanking?
Also, what's the justice system like here in Sthombo? Does the party have any rights? Are they about to be disarmed and thrown in a prison and tortured? Or would Leth know that even if they were? Because if that's whats about to happen, Leth is not down for that at all.
