Excellent. Not to spoil too much, but the plan is to hook Mordred up with the party as they're leaving the city and Shamush once they're outside. We'll see how they play it!

Vad, trailing behind the others, tries to think of a way out of the city without being detected.

Running towards the harbor won't do us any good... C'mon Leth, think. What's the best way out of the city? Leth thinks to himself as he runs.

edit: ha.

Is the map orientated with North at the top?

Yeah, close enough.

Leth, in the heat of the moment, seems unable to recall anything but a bawdy hunter's song about coneys and grass snakes.

Felor realizes that the city gates are probably not a good idea. If they can lose their pursuers, maybe the guards at the gate wouldn't know not to let them through, but...that's a big risk to take.

To Vad, it occurs that the harbor might be the easiest place to shake off the men pursuing them, and they might find there an unattended boat or a sewer tunnel that might help them get out of the city undetected.

"The harbor! Quick!" Vad yells to the others.

I think we need another round of Athletics checks to see how well the first leg of the chase goes!

Felor was made for endurance. Long distances. Not sprinting away from blasted guards!

edit: OK I take it back, maybe he was.

The harbor? Okay, well, not where I thought we'd be going, but maybe he has a better recollection of the city than I do. Leth thinks as he follows Vad's instructions and makes for the Harbor.

Edit: geez. I may have used up all my good rolls.

Leth stumbles.

The closest guard in pursuit attempts to pin him to the ground with his spear...

EDIT: Had the wrong character, wrong AC. The spear misses. Leth gets up and continues running away, side by side with Vad now.

Leth almost stained his pants when he fell forward and saw one of the guards coming at him with a spear. Luckily, he was just barely able to roll out of the way and back up onto his feet, leaving the guard behind him.

Okay. Let's not do that again.

Leth, now catching back up with his companions, yells out towards Felor as they run, "You still have that dagger?"

Breathing too heavily to voice an answer, Felor slips the knife out of his belt and passes it to Leth as they run.

Which way are we going? Fjorgyn's sign seemed to indicate south, through the mercantile district. Maybe we can lose them in there?

You're kind of headed southeast; Vad suggested veering east to the harbor, but Felor is in the lead at this point. The river is to the south, but it's not a given that that's the best immediate way out of the city.

Dead ahead another low garden wall presents itself. Beyond is what appears to be the weedy vegetable garden of a three-story house, once grand, but now in a state of moderate disrepair. Not far behind you, Scarlip shouts invective at the guard who failed to catch Leth.

Felor will continue running in the same direction, scale the garden wall, and carry on past the house (assuming there's a route past it and not through it).
