A shorebird? This deep in the forest? That doesn't make sense. Felor furrowed his brow.
"Aye, something's not right here," he says to the rest of the party. "I swear I just heard a bird call that has no place in this neck of the woods. Just off to the west. Sounded like maybe... A greater cliffgull? That or a spotted fisher I'd say. They're easily confused. They look completely different of course but the calls are nigh-on identical."
Felor gets momentarily lost in a reverie about a time he caught a fat sea trout and cooked it on the beach with some gulls eggs before a thought strikes him.
"But... You don't suppose that's a signal of some sort? From whoever it is those buggers were supposed to meet?"
Apr 14, 2015 9:47 pm
"A signal? What do you mean?"

OOC: Vad isn't really the outdoors type.
Apr 14, 2015 11:50 pm
"I mean it might be our man out there making the noise, waiting for his men to signal back."
Apr 15, 2015 12:23 am
"Ah, I hadn't thought of that", Vad says, realizing that he hadn't thought of that.

"Shall we attempt to signal him back?"
Apr 15, 2015 12:51 am
"I can be quite adapt at mimicking sounds, if you would like me to call back." Tzipporah posed to the others
Apr 15, 2015 7:21 am
"Aye, you go ahead lass. It's worth a try."
Apr 15, 2015 11:16 am
Cupping her hands around her mouth Tzipporah leans her head back to the sky and attempts to mimic the call.

I used performance for this but if I can use deception add +2 to the roll.

Rolls

Performace Check - (1d20+5)

(13) + 5 = 18

Performance Check Advantage - (1d20+5)

(17) + 5 = 22

Tzipporah makes a pretty convincing answering call. There's a long pause, and then the call from the west repeats. It almost seems...hesitant this time.

(Why do you get Performance advantage? Not doubting it, just wondering)

[Actor Feat says You gain advantage on deception and performance checks to impersonate someone else, you can imitate the sounds or speech of another creature, and you gain +1 Cha. It could be interrupted two different ways I suppose. If you say no advantage then disregard the second die result. I good with it either way.]

No it's good. I was guessing it was a background thing.

[I probably should stated it when I made the roll. Just to avoid confusion. Will do in the future]

Who wants to make a Perception check?
Apr 15, 2015 5:33 pm
Felor listens to the second bird call.

Rolls

Perception skill check - (1d20+2)

(16) + 2 = 18

Apr 15, 2015 5:35 pm
The call repeats again, and to Felor's ear it sounds a little closer this time.
Apr 15, 2015 5:37 pm
Tzipporah calls out again. Putting some force behind it this time.

Rolls

Performace Check - (1d20+5)

(1) + 5 = 6

Performance Check Advantage - (1d20+5)

(20) + 5 = 25

"I think he's getting closer" Felor mutters in lowered voice. "We best get ready to receive our guest."
Felor unshoulders his shield and positions himself behind a section of wall inside the longhouse, ready to ambush the "bird" as if he enters the longhouse.

Where is everybody positioned? Is anyone looking outside?
Apr 15, 2015 5:53 pm
Stepping as far away from the main entrance to building Tzipporah attempts to hide in the shadows of the ruined structure.

Rolls

Stealth - (1d20+2)

(3) + 2 = 5

Apr 15, 2015 5:59 pm
You can hear leaves rustling and branches snapping outside. Something is coming closer.
