Gameplay 3 - Demonic Petitioner

Mar 2, 2017 9:46 pm
Having barely got his bearings from the last onslaught of hail, the dragonborn finds himself pummeled by ice again. Still he has no idea of who or where the arcane assailant is.

But it doesn't matter...the silver scaled warrior and his mount crumble to the ground under the unnatural storm and he sees Owen is hurt, "Stay in the fight, Ranger," the bloodied paladin commands as divine energy heals their tracker.
OOC:
Jhishma is barely still on his feet, having failed both saves, but resistance to cold saved him. Lay On Hands to Owen for 10HP.

Nar rides up, Owen's bolt lancing over his head but bouncing harmlessly off her (AC 16) but Cyrind'ae's arrow striking home (11 damage), and slams his maul into her. (22 more damage) Grok runs up growling and spitting with the burden of vengeance plain on his face.

Fritz raises his arms above his head in a futile attempt to stop the onslaught of hail.

"Apollo have mercy!"

He clutches his necklace and whispers a prayer, hoping to heal himself before being knocked out.
[ +- ] Cure Wounds (lvl 2)

Rolls

DEX save (please god) - (1d20+1)

(20) + 1 = 21

Cure Wounds (lvl 2) - (2d8+4)

(24) + 4 = 10

Hooda takes horrific damage immediately after she gains your attention. She backs off and flings her hands out to her sides. Six tiny rocks materialize in the air, and she directs one each at Nar and Grok. The meteors explode each catching both of you (since you're side by side) in their fiery balls.
Two dexterity saves from each of you, please, DC 15 for half damage. This is fire damage for those playing Damage Type Bingo at home.

Rolls

Minute Meteor 1 - (2d6)

(14) = 5

Minute Meteor 2 - (2d6)

(31) = 4

Mar 7, 2017 4:25 am
Nar dodges the worst of the fiery explosions and swings his maul in a vicious upper cut.

It occurs to him while he's swinging that she is a mystery and in interrogation may be in order...and it was enough to distract him from hitting his mark!

Frustration leading to focus, he cast's hunter's mark on his foe for next turn...

Grok dodges out of the way of the meteorites, cutting it close but getting through with barely being singed by the blast. He takes up his blade and plunges it into the caster with a great cry of rage.
OOC:
I forget. Do we always round down? I.e. Grok just took 4 damage, not 5? Anyways.. Rage-time!

Edit: Forgot rage damage, add +2

"Wait, I surrender!" she calls, before the next blow lands. She is hurt badly, near death.
Mar 7, 2017 3:54 pm
OOC:
if Nar can act
Nar rushes to wrap a beefy arm around her from behind to cover her mouth. He growls in her ear, "No tricks, and drop the rocks."

"Someone bind her hands."
Mar 7, 2017 4:11 pm
OOC:
Nat can act, but let's give the others who haven't acted a chance to act beforehand.
Mar 7, 2017 5:41 pm
Jhishma, hurt bad from the icy blasts, glances regretfully back at his dead horse, then walks painfully forward with grim purpose in his eyes, "Nar, Grok, well done," says the paladin flatly, without taking his eyes off the necromancer/witch.

"Darling," the silver-scaled dragonborn growls sarcastically, now speaking to the woman, "you've been a bad girl, haven't you?" The Knight of the Queen of Winter grasps the cast-iron snowflake at his breast. "We need to have a talk..."
OOC:
Jhishma casts charm person.

As Grok is about to stab again, blind with rage and oblivious to anything happening around him, he suddenly sees Nar in front of him and snaps out of it.

He looks confused around him, at Nar, the hooded caster, Jishma, the others. As Jishma approaches Nar and the caster Grok get's the vibe that bloody murder is no longer on the menu, and deflates a bit. Breathing hard, he goes and tends to his battered horse.

Seeing Fritz fall, Cyrind'ae will make her way to him, casting Healing Word on him, hoping she's not too late...

Rolls

Healing Word - (1d4+4)

(4) + 4 = 8

Mar 7, 2017 9:31 pm
Fritz dusts himself off and rises back to his feet. He looks up at the bard, his face beet red with embarrassment. He tries to put some bass in his voice. "Thanks, my lady."

OOC:
Save vs Charm Person

Rolls

Wisdom save - (1d20+0)

(7) = 7

Mar 7, 2017 11:02 pm
Nar feels the tension leave the witch, and releases her, but remains vigilant for a magical escape.

"She's all yours, boss," Nar says, nodding to Jhishma.
Mar 7, 2017 11:22 pm
Owen wanders up as this occurs, still sour from her bewitchment of him. "Foul bitch." He says spitting to the side. "Whatever else happens, know I am on board if we decide to string her up. Witch's usually hang in these parts."
Mar 8, 2017 12:59 am
Jhishma folds his arms across his armoured chest and regards the woman, "Let's get to know each other better," he says, "I'm Jhishma, Paladin of the Queen of Winter. Please tell me your name..."

After pausing to hear her introduce herself, the dragonborn continues, "Hooda, I would very much like to know who your associates in necromancy are, as well as their intentions and whereabouts. And while you're at it - between us, as friends - I hope you'll confide in me all you know regarding their powers and their weaknesses. Take your time, we can enjoy a break here this afternoon in these beautiful woods."

Rolls

persuasion with advantage - (1d20+5, 1d20+5)

1d20+5 : (20) + 5 = 25

1d20+5 : (8) + 5 = 13

Mar 8, 2017 3:37 pm
The woman appears deathly, with inordinately pale features. Sunken cheeks, withdrawn gums. Yet she breathes rapidly in fear, and so you know she is one of the living.

The light of defiance in her eyes quickly fades. "I had hoped to kill a few of you at the least and then escape. My master will not tolerate my failure. If I tell you what you ask, will you free me? Let me live?"
Mar 8, 2017 3:54 pm
"She seems to fear her master much more than us... I doubt she'll give us any trouble in the future. Most likely, she'll find a way to hide from her master..."

She then turns to Fritz. "Sorry to bother you father, but can you spare some healing? I am pretty badly injured myself..."
