"Praise Apollo!" says the dragonborn with a grateful nod to Fritz.

...assuming the door is locked...

"Grok, Nar, together you bust down that door on your first try, I'm sure!"
OOC:
Jhishma readies his wand for an Eldritch Blast over Grok and Nar as soon as they break down the door

Nar throws the door open if it's unlocked -- otherwise will break it down, assuming Grok is "helping"

Rolls

Break door (Athletics/STR, Adv help) - (1d20+5, 1d20+5)

1d20+5 : (16) + 5 = 21

1d20+5 : (3) + 5 = 8

May 1, 2017 12:33 pm
You burst into the room, weapons at the ready. You see a man staked out across the wooden floor within a faintly glowing arcane sigil. His head has been separated by a headman's axe still buried and quivering in the floor.

The axe wielder is backing away to the corner (where you were told a secret door lies), his hands gesturing feebly. Spittle flecks his face, a fanatical sheen burns in his eyes.

Most remarkably, however, is the glowing purple fissure at the far end of the room. Some of you will recall facing this exact occurrence on the streets of Marian Town - a portal to the nether realms from which demons poured!

The madman is trying to flee, so each of you may act, but roll Initiative with your post for next round.

Rolls

Initiative 1, cultist - (1d20+1)

(7) + 1 = 8

Initiative 2, ??? - (1d20+3)

(1) + 3 = 4

May 1, 2017 4:57 pm
Enraged by the callous execution, Nar lunges at the axeman, heedless of the need to question him about the portal!
OOC:
17 to hit AC, 21 bludgeoning damage; if he kills him, he gets a bonus swing and will address anything coming from the portal, if it has emerged yet. I'll wait for DM to say if Nar sees anything to use it on yet.

GWM maul damage - (2d6+14)

(12) + 14 = 17

GWF re-roll 1s&2s (redo all) - (2d6+14)

(61) + 14 = 21

Initiative - (1d20+1)

(15) + 1 = 16

Cyrind'ae will shoot the fleeing executioner.

Rolls

1d8+3 : (1) + 3 = 4

Initiative - (1d20+2)

(12) + 2 = 14

Coming in right behind Nar, Grok jumps the axeman and tries to grab him. "You stay, Badman!"

Rolls

Grapple check - (1d20+7)

(12) + 7 = 19

Initiative - (1d20+2)

(15) + 2 = 17

May 1, 2017 11:11 pm
Nar's attack lands and does grievous damage. An arrow from Cyrind'ae thwacks the wall behind, but Grok hard charges and puts him into a bear hug.
May 2, 2017 12:28 am
Fritz draws his shield and readies himself behind the big guys.

(17) + 1 = 18

May 2, 2017 2:37 am
Jhishma's readied Eldritch Blast erupts towards the cultist.

EB attack - (1d20+6, 1d10+1)

1d20+6 : (16) + 6 = 22

1d10+1 : (9) + 1 = 10

Initiative - (1d20)

(1) = 1

The cultist falls to the ground, save for Grok holding/propping him up. (Insert Wilhelm scream)

A pair of clawed hands burst from the fissure, grab a hold of reality, and pull a creature of nightmare into the realm.

Each of you who aren't a Dragonborn will act before Mr. Creepy.

I'd have to check my notes, but not sure an 11 is gonna cut it.
May 2, 2017 3:46 am
OOC:
figued not -- didn't bother rolling damage
May 2, 2017 6:27 am
Letting the dead cultist slide down to the floor, Grok takes one look at the nightmarish creature, and takes out his Greataxe instead of Sharpie. "More uglies? Needs smashing!" Grok rolls over next to Nar and swings his axe at the beast.
OOC:

OOC:
don't forget your normal extra d12 for a crit! For a 1/2 orc it's one for the hit, one for the crit, and one for Savage.
May 2, 2017 12:34 pm
Nar's attack is batted clumsily aside, but Grok lands a nearly perfect hit, dealing massive damage to the creature. (30 damage)
May 2, 2017 4:43 pm
Doubting arrows will be of much use right now, Cyrind'ae will use a 2nd level slot to cast Heroism on the half-orc brothers.
[ +- ] Heroism
May 2, 2017 5:15 pm
Note on Heroism - at the start of each of their turns, Nar and Grok will gain 4 temporary hps.

Fritz says a prayer and points a finger in the monster's direction.
