Ulfren inwardly wonders how much further the keep is.
Jun 8, 2017 12:00 am
Outwardly it appears to be about two blocks away. ;)

The ground is still covered in gore, but most of the bodies are being cleared up. a dead gobling with a collar and chains is being carried through the court yard.
Jun 9, 2017 5:11 pm
Ulfren continues forward, striding across the courtyard. He will stop before any of the great doors that would appear to be the front entrance, and announces himself and his companions, proclaiming that they have been sent by their king to provide assistance to Lord Reinhel, and to request an audience.
Jun 9, 2017 6:11 pm
Phineas follows behind Ulfren closely, quietly contemplating Zeno's Paradox.

A man in robes of silk is walking in just ahead of you, "No one is holding court, it is an open door policy for now. You might as well walk in. Don't start trouble though, a few guards linger around in the shadows."
Jun 11, 2017 12:06 am
Ulfren shrugs off the makeshift sled harness and leaves it where it is. He strides forward after the silk-robed man, not bothering to wipe his boots.

The inside of the castle is literally dripping with water and slick on all surfaces. It appears though, the fighting never made it into the castle. You follow right into a common room and there is someone walking around with a regal air to him with two kids in tow. He rarely takes his eyes off of them. He is talking to several other people.

Might Phineas recognize the man? He casts guidance to let the smell of damp stone percolate through his memories and call forth an answer.
OOC:
If history (+5), the roll was a 9. If just an Int check, my roll was a 7.

This room pales in comparison to the grand hall of his king, but Ulfren realizes that not everyone has the regal sense of dwarves. He continues his entrance into the chamber, muddied boots tracking a direct line towards the gathered crowd.

OOC:
Either way, Phineas has never met the man before, and he is not known enough to have been in books really.

Baern has been silent this entire time, his thoughts elsewhere. As they walk through the castle, he takes in stoically the dripping situation and the meager population of the place. He is, however, surprised to see the children beside the king. He thought children would have been kept elsewhere at such a time as this.
OOC:
Needless to say, I'm back! My trip was great, and I'm now ready to hop back in.

OOC:
Great!
Jun 16, 2017 4:07 pm
Having come in with the rest, Gunnar peers at the man and the children curiously.
Jun 16, 2017 4:13 pm
Ulfren coughs, clearing his throat.
Jun 18, 2017 11:13 pm
With people moving around, no one hears, or seems to hear to throat clearing.

"Yes, yes, do as you see fit, you are my man at arms. Gather any advisors that are still here or around and we will have a meeting first thing tomorrow morning over breakfast." The man with the children says to several people following him around.
Jun 19, 2017 12:17 am
Gunnar turns his attention to the man-at-arms, taking the measure of the man.

"Lord Rain-Hell?" Ulfren calls out, looking to see which person decides to turn around at the name.
Jun 19, 2017 3:43 am
Phineas buries his head in his hand in embarrassment.

"Your pardon Ulfren, but this is the arena that Billy is most formidable in." Phineas turns to Billy to speak to both at the same time. "Perhaps we should stand aside and let him initiate relations?"
Jun 19, 2017 5:53 pm
OOC:
Damn, son! Putting me on the spot!
Billy chuckles. Not sure where you get the idea I'm any better at speakin' the language of high muckety-mucks. I'll write the song about it, but I ain't the one ta relation with no kings.

He claps Phineas on the back. If any of us got the words or education ta speak with eloquence to royalty, it's you, my boy! I have faith in you!

Billy gives Phineas Bardic Inspiration and Guidance, letting him add a d6 and a d4 to whatever ability roll he needs to work his magic with the king.

Everyone has stopped and is looking at the new comers to the hall. Their eyes go from Ulfren, to Phineas, to Billy and back to Phineas.
