iCryotic says:
The only reason I was hesitant to have Grigor be a knight is because they are specially trained to become paladins, whereas Grigor is a fighter.

If you are stretching this out for me, I would be more than okay with him not being a part of a faction. Whichever you might prefer.
Guy could tell me otherwise, but I felt the Knights weren't neccescairily Paladins. The distinction between the Knights and the guards in my mind was going to be one is more heavily armoured and meant for melee, and the guards were going to be more in leathers with bows.

You don't need to make a group; I just realised that I should have a place for you guys to record them as they are created.

In that case, he would be a knight. I had just read the description and it had said "trained to be paladins."

That could just be her particular path, others train as tacticians, or bulwarks etc. a knighthood of just Paladins lacks a certain amount of combat versatility after all.

I was thinking of adding the remnants of a Rangers/Druids group; I was planning a single 5th level Druid and maybe 4 rangers of lower levels. The Druid can bless what few fields that are safe to have double the yield, and between all of them they can provide 14 castings of Goodberry; enough to sustain 140 people, which is more then my planned town size. So the town can certainly subsist on what's available.
On motivation to quest; with the falling of a new star the town needs someone to go out and investigate.
Perfect, this answered my lingering questions and is exactly why goodberry was on my spell list from the start. Sending 5% of the towns folk out to investigate the second star would be a big decision for the town council. Particularly since those sent are necessarily above average in capability.

Well that raises two questions. 1: would you guys have volunteered to join this mission. 2: would you like to play out that scene as our chapter 0?

I was just thinking that the innkeeper, Dernal, has had his role in town expanded from the standard "consoler pouring drinks" to unofficial town clerk/judge. He gets involved in resolving conflicts and suggesting minor punishments if there is an issue. He also expanded his management skill from the inn (seeing how there are no customers anyway) to the town, directing people when there is a special task needed. In this case there are many townsfolk worried about the new star fall, and trying to calm their fear, a suggestion is made to send out a team. He is loath to risk anyone, everyone in town is a friend he would rather not lose.

Flynn felt called to do this, yes he did. He'd sung his songs and done his dances more times 'n he cares to count, but he's yearnin' to do somethin' greater. This looks like as gooda chance as any.

Lilith would have volunteered, yes.

Don't know if it was brought up earlier. What're we doing for languages? Just common?

I'm sorry, I can clarify that no, not all Knights are specifically Paladins. Each child trained is evaluated and then get assigned to a specific field of training based off their skillset. THEY DO however have to follow the Paladins Oath of the Crown. If you're character is in the Knights, make sure to alter your background to fit since every Knight trains all of their youth. Also, add in what your symbol is. Basically think Spartans from Halo.

#FireteamOsiris Halo is amazing. @my avatar.

So just alter the background to add in his childhood/training and give him a KoUA symbol?

I assumed you meant to add in more information as his path to become an official Knight.
Feb 24, 2017 4:03 am
Yeah, add in why Ser Claymore picked you, what kind of training you had, and the symbol that represents you. Genisis, do you want me to create the other NPC Knights? Or would you want to do that yourself?

I'll leave it loose for now, so that if we need a knight in the future to fit a particular narrative space we can just add them in.

I found this image. I am not a big Halo person, so I do not know the Halo meaning of this image. But I found that it can hold several meanings to it which is why I love it.

P.S.: I hadn't realized how big it was until I posted it.

In response to your PM @Cryo, I don't know what that symbol is--I've never seen it before. I'd guess a Fireteam sign, but you can put whatever meaning to it you want.

Sounds good to me. I thought I'd run by it with you as I had assumed you know a bit about Halo.

I do, but I've never seen that before. Was there no description with it?

I was not able to go to the website on my school laptop.
