I certainly didn't. It's particularly weird to me, too. I've thought about it a lot.

I don't think she's doing it much for a very good moral reason. There's a couple of other reasons, though. Primarily, she didn't meet this god of death and has only heard of what Khiva and Elspa have said. Based on that, she thinks the group is being tricked and that it'd get her killed. No love for death gods. If she believed in the plan and thought it was her best/only chance of surviving, she'd probably be stealing the gem too.

Additionally, Khiva and Co. have been particularly kind to her, when she feels that she has primarily been berated/neglected/ignored/attacked by some others in her group. In short, she likes them more, and she's good to those that she likes.

The biggest moral struggle that I could imagine for her right now is either A) Frick was on team Elspa/Rygnar, or B) if stealing the gem really was Ygne's best chance of surviving. During either of those events, I'm not sure what she'd do, honestly. She may not be as kind to her tribal friends.

Interesting, thanks for your thoughts on Ygne's perspective. It really is a complex situation for her, and I like the idea that it hasn't anything to do with morality even if it looks that way on the surface.

I'm on the edge of my seat watching things spiral back at the village. I'm quite honestly glad Jarveena isn't there.

Regarding fast hands and magic items, the DMG on p. 141 specifically calls out fast hands as not working with magic items that require activation:
[ +- ] DMG p. 141
The twig fetish is considered to have the consumable activation type. Naatkinson and others, can you confirm if this is correct by RAW?

I suspect that they are trying to prevent some kind of healing potion cheese where a character has a belt of potions and chugs one every turn and still gets to attack. Sure limits the class feature though.

I'm not opposed to breaking RAW, but I want to make sure I understand the rule first before we break it.

As a DM, I have never felt so little control over a combat as this one. I love it.

The rules in question:
[ +- ] Fast Hands
[ +- ] Use an Object
[ +- ] Your Turn
[ +- ] List of actions that generally use the Use an Object action/Free object interaction
I'd say that, based on the stuff above, a magical item with a specific time to use it, you'd have to actually go by the item's description. Further backed up with a Sage Advice answer from JC

Wow, that was painful to type/research lol

That's a shame (for fast hands), but understandable. Thanks for the clarification! I'm glad my turn didn't depend on it, and now I know. :)

CancerMan says:
As the heat of battle commences, Elspa's blood boils to match. "I wonder how your leg will taste!" she snarls, launching herself at the large feathered animal that used to be Khiva.
Moss could already tell you, it's not bad !!
deadpool_qc says:
[i]Moss then goes to see the creatures corpses, taking a slice off the leg of one of them and tasting it raw.

CancerMan, am I missing something or did you forget to add your +2 damage bonus for rage?

I did forget!

I have a feeling that it probably didn't make a difference in the number of hits you got.

It also probably doesn't make a difference in the number of hits that Frick got.
Probably but Frick did get a natural 1 on his first attack, I don't think I've seen Len punish a nat 1 though. It's mostly me trying to find a way to keep Rygnar afloat.

Wow, will there be a party to come back to ? The suspense is killing me, I want to know what will happen after the fight right now !! lol

That attack missed with advantage too.

Edit: Oh I see, yes it is a crit fail but I don't do crit fumbles or anything.

Thank you for that. I hate Fumbles as a general rule.

Not sure on the rules for tossing a player over the edge without an action, but it's pretty awesome so I'll go with it! If anyone knows if this breaks any rules, please comment in the OOC thread. There are many monsters with auto-grapple on hit.
PHB pg. 195 (Under Grappling): The condition specifies the things that end it, and you can release the target whenever you like (no action required).

OOC:
On another note, you will present Frick with an opportunity attack if Naatkinson wants to take it, and Elspa's wolf totem ability only grants advantage on melee attacks.
I knew I'd present the OA, didn't know about the melee only. If I'm not able to get into melee with Khiva but still able to javelin it up, it'd still be a 2017*bane* to hit.
