Plus Ygne is waaay more fun when she's being put in her place by the powers that be. :)
That's really cool that you have such a solid grasp on your character already. What do you mean by the powers that be - the DM? Authority figure NPCs? Other PCs? If something makes your character more fun, then I want to understand that button so I can push it effectively.

MoMo: Then we will consider Ygne hidden for the start of your turn on the current round, meaning she won't have to roll a Con save. Without the skulker feat, attacking will reveal yourself in most situations, but you can use some creativity and cinematography to convince me to give you advantage from being hidden. For example, you can hide behind Frick* and take a triggered action to attack when somebody stabs at Frick. When they miss Frick, your knife comes out and skewers them. Just an example. Maybe you could think of better ones!

Anyway, it's your turn - good luck stabbing things!

To be fair, I've used Ygne's personality before for other characters (maybe totaling only 3 game sessions worth of play), which is probably the only reason I'm semi-comfortable saying that.

So, to explain, Ygne is really cocky; she thinks she's faster, stronger, and cooler than she actually is. It's more fun (than with other characters) when she's given the time to talk herself up, and then just gets knocked down several pegs, because she won't stop thinking that she's great. She'll blame something else for her failures. So by "powers that be," I suppose authority figure NPCs, or just natural forces (such as something heavy on the ship striking her head mid-speech), or certain enemies. DM probably counts in that, too.

Dunno if it'll take any specific action on your part. Like you've said, the dice let us fail enough. But, I suppose it's more just that I don't mind when Ygne fails spectacularly (which applies to most characters/players). Rather, it's kinda funny.

I'm writing another post for Jarveena (I figure this is when she finds Captain Gabranth's corpse) but I think I want to watch the Elspa/Frick/Ygne action first! :-D

My schedule has kept me to only posting at nighttime (and I'm already in pacific time), so I apologize for the posts being outside of (what seems to be) everyone else's normal hours. Things should calm down for me soon. :)

I don't know what you mean by that. I am quite enjoying everyone's scenes and so would like to see your combat play out rather than interrupt it. :-)

If you're talking about having a different schedule from everyone else, well yeah it's kinda hard. :-)

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about :)

So far I've been thoroughly enjoying the game!

Hey I'm on Pacific time too (Vancouver, Canada). I think your post frequency has been fine. If you are standing out as slower than the rest then it's because we've all been posting on overdrive. I've been in front of my computer a lot lately (I'm a teacher and it's report card time) so I've been all sorts of willing to get distracted :)

Ygne seems like a great character and I can see why you like playing her. I'll be sure to give her opportunities to take risks and get in trouble, but I'll always try to leave that up you whether she gets in trouble or not, and leave it up to the dice to see how things play out.

Glad you are enjoying the game, as am I!

Haha, maybe the only reason that I'm concerned is because I'm usually the one on posting overdrive. I'm actually in a Masters program to be certified as a teacher (In Vancouver, Washington), so hey! Small world-ish.

Sounds good for Ygne plans! I'm good to adapt to whatever's going on, and if I have any ideas I'll let you know.

CancerMan: I think you technically should have made a Con save vs. stench there since you don't have immunity yet, but let's not bother to reroll all the attacks. This fight is pretty much over, let's wind it up. Besides, Elspa was not born to fight solo so I imagine you are looking forward to future battles where you can really test her mechanics.

She did make a Con. save; Page 3, about the middle of the page.

Ahh, and that's the sign I should go to bed. Thanks HypCo.

Happy to help, have a good one.

I am really enjoying the game too :-)

I normally post more, but not much on the weekends usually.

Yes, Elspa failed her CON save. She's just been trying to find advantages to cancel out the disadvantage. I hope I'm not confusing when I roll an "Extra Reckless Attack" where I mean Extra Attack, not Advantage. My personal convention is to include Advantage in the same line, so I would roll "Extra Reckless Attack, Advantage" and have "1d20, 1d20."

Wow, it is a small world. What age group and subjects do you want to teach? I was originally computer science and social studies (what we call civics, history, government, and geography in Canada), but the jobs were more for math / compsci so that's what I ended up teaching. Turns out to have been a great move, I have enjoyed teaching math a great deal, and compsci is always awesome.
