Darren stands back, allowing the others to deal with this man, keeping an eye out for any sign of the horrible beasts that they have been warned about.
At Veroth's excemation, Durgrim spins around and brings up his hammer. "Oy, ye filthy mutt. I though we'd thought ye a bloody good lesson the last time!"
Roland keeps the hackbutt aimed squarely at the elf, never faltering. This may be an ambush, but if I have to go to hell today this tricksy son of a bitch is going with me.
At the party's reaction, the elf lifts his longbow and notches an arrow. It seems the situation has degenerated into combat. You can place yourselves on the northern half of the map; you were probably maneuvering to get on the open trail...
"Nooo!" Ujjaya exclaims, standing between the elf and his friends. His bow is lowered to his side, and his other hand is held up in a placating gesture. "Peace, brothers! Peace, friend elf! If we fight amongst ourselves we do Strahd's work for him!"
I've placed Ujjaya on the map, trying to position himself between the elf and the party, hoping to diffuse the situation. I'm adding an initiative roll below but seriously trying to avoid combat. Is everyone seriously just ignoring his plea for everyone to calm down right now? Durgrim and maybe Darren and Heather should have detected evil auras here, right?
"Please let us not escalate to violence unecessarily, perhaps we can discuss things further."
OOC:
Heather is going to try to help settle the situation,
but does not put her mace away. Jabres, I think I can only sense evil if I cast spells? I am still not sure how that works.
I'll wait for Veroth and Darren to position themselves, then I'll go a head with the fight. And yes Jabes, everyone seems to be ignoring your pleas for peace, including the elf...
As a player, I have absolutely no problem with the PC's ignoring Ujjaya and turning to violence. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't a case of the other players having missed my post. :-)
