Act II: Ill Fortunes (Part 2, the morning after)

The elf sneers as he answers Darren.

"If we knew where to find Baragh, we would have killed him by now..."

He then turns to Roland.

"People who hunts us? So far there is only Barahg. Well, there used to be another one, a dwarf who dwelt somewhere near the Vistani camp. Good move on his part: we could not attack him without risking harming Vistanis, which would have put us at odd with Strahd for harming his agents... Well anyways, seems he stopped hunting us at some point and switched his focus on hunting humans. I am not sure why he changed his mind, nor do I care to find out."

"Well, if you have no more questions to ask of us, can we leave then?"

"A change of heart? Would you expect the wolf who hunts the dear to change its ways? How about the lion chasing the gazelle? Predators hun prey, isn't it the natural order of things?"

"Yes, sometimes the prey can get one up on the predator. It is rare, but it does happen, usually when the predator was careless, like we were. But it does not matter, the pack will know to not underestimate you again, whether we live to warn them, or they find our dead bodies. No, it does not matter. As to whether or not men are prey, I'd say it's a matter of perspective."

"An interesting proposition, but I do not have the authority to speak for the whole pack. Perhaps we could come to an understanding, but more than likely, it will include the death or at the very least the removal, using whatever means you feel is appropriate, of Janis Baragh. Perhaps it might also include convincing the pack of the ruin to join our pack and stop resisting us. But me and my friend would nee do head back to the pack."

"Sadly, we do not allow outsiders to our hideout. But yes, you would be safe from attacks from our pack."
