Veroth simply nods. He checks his weapons, and then checks to make sure no one left any belongings.

"I am too. So, where is the Holy symbol?"
Apr 1, 2017 11:59 am
Still standing at the door, Durgrim looks inpatient. "Aye. Let's be on our way! Ah, the Gypsy woman told us it was in a marsh down river from their camp. 'Where the river flows into the land'. Do ye ken the place?"
Apr 1, 2017 12:46 pm
"That sounds like the Ivlish Marsh. It's pretty much directly straight south-east from here. I'd say about a quarter of a mile or so."
Apr 1, 2017 5:35 pm
"Do we take the horses then?"
OOC:
Where are the horses?
Apr 1, 2017 7:34 pm
OOC:
I think they would still be at the Blood on the Vine Tavern...

Let us go and retrieve our animals from the stables, and make our way to the holy symbol.

As you make your way towards the Blood on the Vine Tavern, you notice through the mist-enshrouded streets that daily life has resumed as best it can. Merchants have their shops open, people go about their business children play in the street under the watchful eyes of their parents, though everyone looks sorrowful and defeated but try their best to mask it. As you reach the Blood of the Vine tavern, you are surprised to see a quatuor of Vistani in front of the establishment engaged in a loud and colorful conversation which clashes with the dourness of the village of Barovia. They seem to be entirely absorbed in their own conversation-which is in a language none of you understand-and pay you no heed...

Times like this make me wish I had prepared Comprehend Languages...oh well...
Weiryn watches the group of Vistani, remembering the encounter at the encampment, as they approach. He's looking to see if there is any hostility or anger in their words, despite not being able to speak the language.

Sense Motive - (1d20+3)

(20) + 3 = 23

OOC:
OH! I do have something that can tell me what's up! Depending on the result of that Sense Motive check, I might have to use a Domain spell... >.>
Apr 4, 2017 3:59 pm
Weiryn does not sense any hostility emanating from the Vistanis, but he does have the feeling that this animated discussion to be an elaborate act. This whole thing feels staged. Even though Weiryn does not understand to language, he has the feeling the Vistanis are struggling to keep coming up with new subjects of conversation in order to keep the charade going, and their exaggerated motions while talking seems to serve only as a distraction so that your eyes would be drawn to them in the hope you'd overlook something else...

Standard perception check coming into town, I do not have sense motive so I do not know that this is a ruse.

Weiryn will frown slightly while slowing his pace just a moment, and then put a hand on his holy symbol and mutter a brief prayer to Pharasma, asking for her aid.
OOC:
So, it turns out that Comprehend Languages and Detect Thoughts are both Domain Spells for me, and I have them prepared. Almost forgot all about preparing spells before we jumped to the part two forum. Therefore, I'll be using my domain spell Detect Thoughts to see if I can get an idea of what's on the Vistanis' minds. Will DC 15 to resist me picking up surface thoughts, but it doesn't specify if they sense it or not.

I depends on whether they save or not. I'm pretty sure I saw somewhere that if you successfully save, you are aware something happened, but not necessarily what it was... Also, do you have a way to mask your casting, like Still Spell or Silent Spell?

Roland will notice that the first 3 Vistani's loud and colorful conversation is meant to hide the fourth one which is silently observing the party, but otherwise not taking any sort of action against you...

OOC:
I do not, unfortunately. That's why I hung back a little bit to let the others get in front of Weiryn. I can roll something to try and obfuscate what I'm doing, if you like.

Roland quietly passes the information along to his companions, without stopping which might alert the vistani

@ irvanovich: Hmm, sounds like you're hiding your casting, so a Stealth check opposed by their Perception? Perhaps a Bluff too if you are are trying to pass your casting as something else?

Edit: also, your detect thoughts link leads to comprehend language...
