As the others leap into the water, Harbek checks his gear and make certain the two hand axes are secure on his belt before following. Doing his best to land among the rest of his traveling companions, he treads water and tries to talk to them in tones that they can hear without allowing the enemy pirates to also hear him.
"Good thinking. Let us catch up with the three pirates that leapt into the water ahead of us and hope we can scramble aboard their ship along with them. If Pelor smiles on us, we will get caught up in the confusion and be able to get down into the belly of the ship without drawing attention to ourselves."
Assuming the others have heard him, Harbek starts to swim as fast as he can towards the pirates swimming back towards their ship.

Just to make sure I've got this right. The Dreadship is drifting away, everyone except for Que quickly dresses in pirates clothing, takes up some rusty weapons (except Magak who keeps his axe). While that's going on Que leaps into the water. Rather than waiting for the pirates to attack, you've decided to swim to the pirate ship. Harbek suggests that you catch up to the swimming pirates and follow them aboard. Everyone knows the plan except for Que. Is this correct? If you would like to add any additional actions then please let me know.As it stands you didn't take the time to take a short rest.
So you didn't have the opportunity to recover your hps via hit dice. To compensate for this I'm going to give inspiration to Que for acting in character to the clear disadvantage of the party. I'm also going to give inspiration to Magak too for choosing to keep his greataxe which is also going to make life more difficult for you later. Please note that you can use your inspiration yourself or you can give it to another character. The choice is yours.

Saris looks over board to his his companions rushing toward the boat swimming. Saris has a look of sadness on his face. They just took the axes away from me. I had grabbed those for me. Saris turns to the captain. Sir I will be staying on board until they board us again. At this point I will board them and help the others if possible.

Captain Bates says Their plan is a good one. If you swim with the pirates then they will probably let you all on board. If you wait until the pirates attack again then I'm not sure if you will be able to find them. Trying to find the gunpowder hold alone will be almost impossible. Are you sure you want to stay?

Que is oblivious to the presence of the others in the water, and is swimming towards the ship. She will actively avoid any pirates in the water, attempting to find a rope or something by which she could climb up to the ship.

I would like athletics checks from everyone to determine your swimming speeds.

You all swim along and Magak and Glórendil manage to catch up to Que. You stop her and explain the plan. Then everyone catches up to the swimming pirates. At first they seem alarmed but after they spot your red bandannas they calm down. As you approach the Dreadship you follow the pirates as they swim around the back and climb a ladder up onto the main deck. The deck is full of pirates preparing for war. You see an entrance down to the hold but in order to get there you'll have to pass through the deck. You could attempt to sneak across the deck moving from shadow to shadow or you could pretend you are pirates and make your way in plain sight.
Magak you are at disadvantage because of your shinny greataxe. What do you do?

As soon as Que realized there was another plan in action other than her going in solo, she would have wanted to prepare a little bit. Going in like this without any coordination is suicide. Can we retcon that preparation?Apr 14, 2017 1:49 pm
OOC:
Rather than doing that planning here, I will open a new thread. You would have had a little time to discuss a plan while swimming.Apr 17, 2017 10:31 am
The pirate ship is about to launch its second attack. Saris is still aboard the Indomitable, waiting for his chance to sneak aboard the Dreadship.
Everyone else is aboard the pirate ship attempting to make it to the hold unnoticed.
You could attempt to sneak across the deck moving from shadow to shadow or you could pretend you are pirates and make your way in plain sight.
Magak I already have your rolls. What do you do?

Que, thinking quickly, steps confidently aboard the ship, adopting a smirk and a swagger as she strides among the unwashed masses of the pirates. She is making no attempts to hide herself.

Making his way towards the ship, and reaching out for hands to help him aboard, Harbek gets to his feet and places his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
"That didn't go as planned. Some of them be a might harder to kill than I be expectin'. Give me a minute to catch me breath lads, and I'll be good for another go at 'em."

Que whirls on Harbek. "Catch your breath?!" she snaps, "you louts were routed by a bunch of lousy merchants! Those brats just wallow in the laziness of their job all day, while we lead a hard life on the sea! How could you allow yourselves to be so disgraced?!" She gives all the pirates who'd swum with her a withering gaze before flicking her hair and swaggering towards the wheel, making sure her hips sway appropriately. "Where is the captain?" she says, twirling her scimitar idly. "I demand to speak to her."

I'm adding another performance check if you want it @Arina!Last edited April 17, 2017 3:15 pm
