OOC:
I'm back guys! Sorry for the absence; summer ended up being more busy than the school year.
Kaio snaps out of combat stance and watches as the interrogation goes down. He has not Geran's skill for such things, so he sees no need to interfere and thus begins gathering the weapons and gear of the slain.

Don't make me pick this one, too...
Sep 3, 2017 7:59 pm
Geran smiles, Lucky for you, I'm a bit tired. I'll give you a few hours to think on it while I rest, capiche?

Rixon's lips tighten in frustration and he grabs the keys from Geran's hand, trying them each in turn on the padlock holding the huge sack closed.

Stop taunting them. And secure them if you want them to stay put while you rest. There's likely a person in here. And if that is so... they have a much shorter lifespan than the couple hours you afford them.

Geran casts a scowl at Rixon, Do not lay a hand on them, understand? I need to get information out of them WITHOUT harming them. We will turn them over to the Sheriff for true justice. Enough blood has been spilled today. Any more, and we're hurting our cause for greater good, and becoming the evil we wish to vanquish. he takes a big breath and turns to the captives, Don't do anything stupid while I rest. Remember that I might have already been inside without you knowing yet. Geran shifts back into himself and stares at them with a smile, and without moving his mouth he speaks in their minds, Your next decisions will decide your fate. Remember that. and with that, Geran turns on his heel, and walks away without caring to bind them, knowing that they're already frozen in place. He pats down on a sleeping bag, and lies down to rest for a few short hours to rejuvenate his magic.

OOC:
Rixon shifts Hunter's Mark to one of the men. He also opens the sack. He has no interest in sitting still while Geran naps.
Sep 4, 2017 3:01 pm
When you open the sack with one of the heavy keys on the ring, a petite elvish woman crawls out, her face a purply-red mess of bruises, starting to tinge green-yellow around the edges. One eye is swollen closed, the other is open, just a little bit. Both arms hang limp by her side, clearly broken. Tears have streaked her face.

As Geran walks away and lies down to nap and the others look to the woman in the sack, the men look at each other slightly. They remain in place for a few minutes. As soon as there is no one immediately near to them, they scramble to their feet and run back towards the pass!

Geran sits up, Good, my plan worked. Why waste magic finding out info, when we can just have them lead us to it? Much faster. As with the girl... that I didnt expect. he turns to Thorolf, You're a ranger right? You can track them down, and Rixon can find out who the lass is? Sound good?

"Fighting, tracking and interrogating. Seems like that's all we do. Can't say that's a bad thing." I turn toward the others, giving a side-eye to Geran. "He's making all the decisions now? Who made him captain?"

As the elf tumbles out of the sack, Rixon sees the men fleeing and draws a javelin.

That does not sound good.

Rixon turns to Xaar, No one.

He looses the javelin at one of the fleeing men.
OOC:
Targeting the man WITHOUT hunter's mark.

Rolls

Javelin - (1d20+6, 1d6+4)

1d20+6 : (10) + 6 = 16

1d6+4 : (3) + 4 = 7

No! Geran yells, and points his palm in Rixons direction, his hand begins to glow with Eldritch energy Stand down, or I will have to intervene. You are trying to kill a fleeing unarmed man! Just please let me explain my plan, and know that they will face justice by real enforcers. Geran lowers his palm, Please. If you continue to do this, I will consider you both to be just as evil as them.
Sep 4, 2017 11:42 pm
You should've explained yourself before they were running, so I could object then instead of now. I will not let evil men flee. And if you attack me for trying to do right, it is you who are the evil one.

Killing an unarmed man isn't right- what's right is keeping them alive to help us find the root of their operation, where we can fully take care of it carefully, and if we can, try to spare lives, and turn them over to the council to receive proper judgement. We don't even know if they're truly evil yet- I apologize for not explaining my plan, but here it is. I took out their leader, so I could become him, and infiltrate their operation and find out info without harming anybody else. My aim is also for the greater good, but I find it hard to work with others. Let us please re-capture them, and we can discuss a plan together, and I promise I won't act on my own from now on. Just don't kill them, please. I don't want to spill blood that needn't be spilled. Geran says.

Rixon's javelin sails through the air after the fleeing men, his aim for the weaker of the two. While the distance is a little much to hear the effects, you see it bury itself in the man's back. In a flop, the man falls to the ground in a motionless heap.

The other man doesn't break his stride or even turn his head as his compatriot falls to the ground. In an instant, he's out of sight through the passage and beyond.

Killing an evil man, unarmed and fleeing just means it's easy.

He looks after the still-living fleeing man, quite dissatisfied that he's already well out of range. I can track that one. That is what you want? But first, Rixon kneels and holds out a waterskin to the beaten and bruised Elven woman. It's okay, you're safe here. Will you allow me to tend your wounds?

Kaio leans down to examine the woman, only to see the men running off. He approves of Rixon's actions, and draws his sword to follow the other. Before he goes, however, he turns to Geran. "You may be the most intellectual of us all, but don't make plans without consulting us first," he says sternly. "Brotherhoods are built on trust, and such breeches cannot be tolerated. Now explain your plan quickly or we will track that bastard down and kill him. Either way, you stay here. You are best equipped to tend to this poor soul." He indicates the elven woman on the ground.

Geran grits his teeth as he stares at the corpse on the ground. He then swiftly turns to reply to Kaio and Rixon, Easy? You just slew an unarmed man because it was the easy thing to do? It may have been easy, but it wasn't the right thing to do. Those men made some mistakes, but they had a chance at living! They might have spent some time in jail, but he didn't deserve to die. Geran scowls at the monk, Who are you to talk about brotherhood? I don't know a damned thing about any of you! You're not brothers, you're a bunch of random strangers I was ordered to follow along with. Kaio, don't you listen? I just explained the damn plan!
