"Sounds a solid enough plan," Kaio confirms. "Not many terribly good places to hide here though."
Jul 18, 2017 12:59 am
Rixon spends another five minutes on the chests, finally popping that last nasty lock. You swing the lid open and inside are all manner of folded lengths of supple leather, silken cloth in a rainbow of colors, spools of both silver and golden threads. There's a velvet bag with five large diamonds inside.

"This is a strange treasure trove, to be sure," Kaio says, brows furrowed. "Sadly there are no weapons."
Jul 18, 2017 1:12 am
Hide in plain sight then. Tie fake knots, and fake you as my slaves.
Jul 18, 2017 1:12 am
Strange and suspicious. It all but confirms the guilt of whoever accumulated it, but I'd hear it from them.

I don't want to lay in the dirt all day, perhaps we keep a watch just outside?
OOC:
A couple questions: how far is this cave from the old man's garden? And what time of day is it?
Jul 18, 2017 1:20 am
All told, you are about 2 hours away from the old man's garden. It's about 1030 or 1100 in the morning.
Jul 18, 2017 1:21 am
it's worth noting that folks might be hostile towards the old man; we are somewhat removed from his camp.

Then again, these may be those that we saw with him. At any rate, I'd prefer hiding out of sight.

Rixon pockets the pouch of diamonds, then locks the chest again.

Lets get these hidden, quick. Xaar, do you mind? These are... way too heavy for me.
Jul 20, 2017 2:05 am
"I won't be much help either," Kaio comments reluctantly.
Jul 24, 2017 2:54 pm
Xaar comes over, and with a little help from her friends, they manage to get the chests back in their holes and covered up, all in all a labor of about 20 minutes. You've spent a little over an hour here in the cave and as you look outside, you notice that the sun is high in the sky. There are a few rocks and outcroppings behind which you could hide in the clearing outside the cave mouth. As you had noticed, there isn't much in the way of hiding places inside the cave.

As far as planning this ambush goes... I'll set myself up behind some of those rocks, but near enough the trail that I can cut them off and herd them into the cave once the trap is sprung.
Jul 26, 2017 5:25 pm
"I'll take post opposite you," Kaio volunteers.
Jul 26, 2017 7:33 pm
"I can go wherever I am needed."
Jul 26, 2017 7:57 pm
Why don't you go up there, Rixon points to some rocks above and to the side of the cave, to provide some ranged cover fire. Jean, maybe a similar post? That will allow Kaio, Xaar and I to close the ambush from behind.

We should be able to surround them this way.

"Aye, that's good with me." Thorolf heads to the rocks.
Jul 28, 2017 12:06 am
Should I continue to play the part of the old man? In case they are the bandits? Maybe I can get some information faster and easier compared to beating it out of them?
Jul 28, 2017 12:27 am
Agreed. Stay sharp, all. Rixon turns to take up his post and wait it out.
OOC:
Not so stealthy...

Geran reshapes himself into the necromancer, and tests out an impression of him, Greetings, I am Richard Cranium, and I love to play with corpses. he chuckles.

You all move to take your positions for the ambush and settle in, waiting for the bandits to arrive. Minutes tick by, slowly dragging out into an hour. Then 2. As the sun starts to fall behind the mountain line, casting the little clearing into shadow, you hear voices coming down the trail, not attempting stealth at all. You cannot make out what they are saying, however, those of you in the clearing do see four people in dark-ish clothing wandering in. The two in the back have what appears to be heavy burlap bags in their hands, about the size of a cantaloupe. The person in second position has a very large sack slung over his shoulder. The lead person is the only one that doesn't appear to be talking at all. They all look to have long curved blades at their hips.

Geran resets the timer on his disguise before approaching the men. Jumping right into character he limps over to the approaching persons, Ye' lads gonna give this old man a hand? he speaks in Caruthers voice.
