OOC:
Either way, Rixon is last in line, bringing up the rear.

(Didn't notice we were near a pagebreak... See question bottom of last page!)

Rolls

Dex Save - (1d20+4)

(13) + 4 = 17

I am second in line. When I hear the rumble, I attempt to lean into the mountain.

Rolls

Dex save (w/Advantage due to danger sense?) - (1d20+2, 1d20+2)

1d20+2 : (20) + 2 = 22

1d20+2 : (13) + 2 = 15

Kaio is walking fourth in line, just in front of Rixon. As the rumbling begins, he holds awaits whatever is coming on the balls of his feet.

Rolls

DEX Save - (1d20+6)

(18) + 6 = 24

As you all hear the rumbles, Thorolf flings a hand up and stops suddenly. As he does, you see a cascade of rocks come careening over the edge of the canyon lip some 20' over your heads! Thankfully, through quick ears and quicker toes, you are almost all able to dive into a roll out of the way. Jean is the only one that didn't quite escape the wrath of gravity and he catches a rock a little smaller than an apple on the upper arm, taking 2 points of bludgeoning damage but nothing more extreme. You see a few heads poking over the edge of the canyon.

You dolts! How could you miss! Fish in a barrel, that's what they ar....... you hear a gruff voice yell out before fading out of earshot.

You now find yourselves faced with a patch of difficult terrain some 10 feet across, and then it's another 60 or so to the opposite edge of the tight passage. You don't know what lies beyond that point. Behind you some distance is the fork where Geran continues to be out of his body.
OOC:
As of yet, Geran hasn't indicated that he's returned his observation to his own senses, until then, he's effectively a breathing ragdoll.

OOC:
Geran can hear from his body, though? So we can tell him "We found the bandits, time to come back"? Personally I’m fine leaving him there, and it seems to work for his IRL temporary posting limitations.
Rixon calls out, We’re here on behalf of Willowdark. I don’t intend any harm, I just want words! But I promise that will not hold if you don’t act likewise!
OOC:
If they were within 90’ and in sight, Rixon will cast Hunter’s Mark.
Apr 5, 2017 10:59 pm
OOC:
Persuasion roll if relevant...

Rolls

Persuasion - (1d20+4)

(19) + 4 = 23

Apr 5, 2017 11:42 pm
As Rixon yells up, Kaio begins moving forward as quickly as the terrains allows.
OOC:
20' movement to cross the patch, then 20' past that.
Apr 6, 2017 1:06 am
OOC:
Nope, he is unable to use any of his actual senses when he's checking things out through Bojangles.
Willowdark? Maybe we throw down a rope, and maybe you come up and we talk huh? says a new voice over the edge as a head peeks out, only to have another voice jump on the end, ...get yer swarthy rear form the edge Petyr! You don't speak fer...... and the voice fades away as the head is snatched back.
OOC:
Hunter's mark is on the one they called Petyr, he was the last back from the edge last time and the one that popped back over after you talked to him. No initiatives yet.
Apr 6, 2017 1:31 am
OOC:
Kaio will just keep moving until something interesting happens/stops him. He's trying to get up behind the talkers.
Apr 6, 2017 9:19 pm
Petyr has the right idea, I'd say. You likely outnumber us. Do us the kindness of hearing our message delivered before you dump another load of rock on us.

Rixon starts walking up the difficult slope as he talks, slower than Kaio.

Thorolf climbs up the slope, keeping his hands near his bow.
Apr 7, 2017 1:14 pm
OOC:
Are you asking them to throw down a rope? This is a near vertical cliff face. Or are you following Kaio, walking down and out of the narrow pass and looking for a way up from there?
Apr 7, 2017 6:51 pm
OOC:
i misunderstood the geography, sorry! Following Kaio out of the pass to the far side, but slower.
Rixon says a quick prayer, hoping he was holding their attention with his offer while Kaio moves.
Apr 7, 2017 6:55 pm
As you all make your way out of the pass and hook around, you find a thin worn trail in the sparse grass. Following it back, and up, you spot the vagabonds that tried pelting you with rocks. Four men stand around, looking worried. They have on pretty heavily worn clothes. Out of a small tent pops a man with leather armor and a frail old man that limps towards all of you on a gnarled walking stick.
Apr 7, 2017 11:11 pm
Rixon stops when he sees the old man making his way towards them and calls out, Greetings, ambushers. Shall we have words, then?
Apr 8, 2017 3:44 pm
OOC:
If Rixon can see them, than Kaio is probably in the open and discovered. If not @Drama, lemme know and I'll edit.
Kaio keeps his hand near to his sword, but not openly cautious. "And who may you be?" he asks, his tone demanding rather than inquisitive.
Apr 18, 2017 1:15 pm
OOC:
@Kaio, as you came to the end of the chasm and started climbing the slope toward the ambushers, you can choose to hide in the outcroppings there if you'd like. You'd end up about 40' away from the group if you were to hide in the nearest outcropping, however.
The old man pushes forth, I'm Caruthers Sterngaze, and who are you to be crossing our path? M'boy here tells me yer from Willowdark. Those uppity folk about to get themselves into a heap a troubles if they sent you out into these hills to collect us. he says, voice full of contempt.
Apr 18, 2017 6:26 pm
On the contrary, Caruthers. We’ve seen to it that collections are over. Willowdark is even now fortifying against whoever will replace the last Collector, Rixon lets the implication hang for a second before he continues speaking.

Tell me, are you out here to avoid the Collections? Keep what’s yours? I understand that.
