Rixon grimaces at the onslaught of magical energy from the old man, but manages to step aside this time.

He then pivots on his foot after stepping wide, and stabs forward with both rapiers.

Geran continues his side activity as Bojangles, By the way buddy, my friends and I are in a bad situation, so if it goes bad for us, can I rely on your help? I'll owe you an enormous favor if it comes to that. Also, hows the search coming?

As the creature staggers off towards Jean and Thorolf, Xaar and Rixon both make attempts against the creature, cutting it down where it shambles. Rixon and Kaio lay into the old man, finally dealing a fatal blow to him. He drops like a sack and you can see his breathing is labored. The other undead creature stands, unmoving.

Xaar leaps at it, swinging her mighty blade as Jean sends another bolt whistling through the night at it. Axe and arrow meet, dropping the creature in a shamble of body parts.

Thorolf, your shot goes wide of the remaining creature.

You are all back up. You have an unconscious, dying old man and some scattered undead. The big guy has stopped breathing and looks to be fully dead.

OOC:
Are we out of initiative?

Also, I was imagining the camp as about 10-12 people on our first encounter. Is that right? If so, where are they sleeping?
Jun 28, 2017 1:12 am
"Is there no one left to question?"
Jun 28, 2017 9:58 pm
Kaio straightens out of his offensive stance and walks quickly over to the old man. "Who are you? What have you done here?" he asks, his sword at the prone man's throat.
Jun 29, 2017 5:49 pm
OOC:
You aren't precisely out of initiative. Combat itself is over, but the old man is dying. You've got about 2 rounds worth of time before he is straight up dead. He is currently unconscious, so he can't reply to Kaio.

There were four other people here when you first got to the camp, however, you don't see a tent for them....nor do you see them.
Jun 29, 2017 6:57 pm
Rixon walks up next to Kaio and places the tip of his sword on the dying man's chest, We'll question the others, wherever they've gone. This one dies.

And with that pronouncement, Rixon drives the tip of his sword through the man's heart.
Jun 29, 2017 7:16 pm
The man twitches once, and then stops, his cloudy eyes go dull and his hands drop open, slowly.
Jun 29, 2017 9:04 pm
Kaio kicks the corpse lightly, possibly to check if it is really dead and possibly because he felt like it. Probably a large share of one and a small share of the other; I'll let y'all guess. "We should find the others," Kaio comments flatly.
Jun 29, 2017 11:06 pm
Four others... Rixon ticks corpses on his fingers as he looks about the battlefield. Hm. Any chance those we saw during daylight were actually dead?

Let's see what we can find.

Rixon begins to search the camp for any useful gear and for any sign of the others he'd met earlier.

As you hunt around the camp you do find another two bodies inside the tent the old man had been in. From the looks of it, they were both killed, and recently. Their throats lie open, from ear to ear near to where the two undead creatures rose up.
Jun 30, 2017 8:32 pm
Rixon sighs in disgust, Weren't some of these people his sons? Good riddance, old man. That accounts for three of the crew...

After scouting the rest of the camp, Rixon returns to the scene of the battle,

Uh, is Geran okay?
OOC:
Assuming there's nothing to find? I'd hoped to confirm or deny that these were our bandits.

Thorolf slowly approaches Rixon. "I hope so. Let's go try to find him."
Jun 30, 2017 11:03 pm
He's... he's right there on the ground. He just hasn't moved in awhile.

Rixon makes his way over and examines Geran's (still paralyzed?) form.
OOC:
Fine, let's do this. How does this out-of-body thing work? How the heck does Geran realistically know when to come back?

You search about, but find nothing to show where the other two may have gone. You do, however, find a bag of grisly talismans on the old man's body, a battered sickle on his belt, and a small prayer book full of unholy incantations. Buried in several small jars throughout the garden area, you do find a host of gems and coins.
