He produces a scroll of parchment from a pouch on his back, makes a few quick marks, and then presses his thumb to the bottom, magic singing a sigil onto the bottom of the sheet. He offers it to Heartboiler with another quick set of words in Undercommon. With a quick glance to Bildabrew, he smiles and continues in Undercommon.

My thanks. It has been a very long time indeed. Bildaweer takes the papers and smiles back. Come everyone. Let's be on our way. He then looks back and asks who is the king now?

Uhmn Mentor, what were they all saying ?

The guard says, a strange smile on his face.
Jul 11, 2017 4:19 pm
He says that we'll have to take several trips using the lifts to move the goods into the city. But, we're to meet a quartermaster ath the top of the lift. If we play our cards right, then the quartermaster may allow us to continue on the High Road. Otherwise, we'll be escorted through. Apparently, there's no king, but a council of sorts leading different areas of the city.
OOC:

Do you think a gift for the Quartermaster might work ?
Jul 11, 2017 4:37 pm
Bildaweer quietly says to Dustin, Sounds like a plan. I've never been good at persuading people on way or the other. Perhaps we should choose someone with better capabilities to deliver the gift? If need be, I can serve as the translator.

"Alright then, so what do we have to offer as a gift ?"
Jul 11, 2017 5:51 pm
Well, our economy is centered on mining. Perhaps some precious stones?
Jul 11, 2017 6:29 pm
Dustin checks for what precious stones he might have.

Takes one of the Amethysts and one of the small diamonds.

"Alright let's give this a try."

Mentor tell the quartermaster that the surface dwellers would like to offer a gift to the quartermaster as a show of respect for the hard work they do.

Having decided on your stones, you make your way to the lift. A small being, formed solely of rock, stands at the bottom and guides you to the sled where you can load your carts. You cycle yourselves until you all arrive at the top of the lift, and face a wide smooth roadway. A pair of deep gnomes and a single larger creature, similar to the one below, stand at the top. One of the gnomes wears a purple and gold tabard with a goldworked design of a set of scales over a crossed quill and key.

You lot are the ones taking Dasco's load in? Leave it here and then head back down the lift. We'll take it from here, all looks to be in order. the tabard-wearing gnome says in stilted common.

Dustin speaks and waits for his Mentor to translate his words.

He gives a deep bow.
