Yea the rogue is pretty versatile - those are some great additions for Kray. Starting out with rogue, my skill proficencies count at 8. So he will be a bit of a Jack of all trades and master of many.

On due date for updates, next week is fine. I don't see us getting into an action shoot out tomorrow and I don't want to start anything high stakes or stat heavy during casual weekend.

Nice. Love that rogue skill start. At some point I see Kray getting to at least 3rd Level in rogue, going swashbuckler archetype. It really suits his fighting style with the finesse weapons, charisma, and RP-wise for him fits much better than the classic thief. More privateer or pirate-like than dapper swashbuckler, though.

At any rate, although Kray can absolutely appreciate having a B&E guy on the team that knocks out locks and traps, I don't picture him doing that.

Ez, you're right about the timing of the attack on the trees. My concern too is that once we are detected in the BZ that reinforcements come sailing over. Priority information is to learn more from Rutcranna about whether or not the trees are listening posts and what she thinks the response time would be. Of course we also need to make an assessment about how far along we think we could get into the BZ without being detected. With all that we could make a better judgement about any potential tree attacks.

My assumption is that once we are detected inside the BZ that reinforcements will be dispatched. Ideally, attacks on the trees would occur the moment we are detected inside the BZ, triggering alarms in many spots at once and confusing the enemy. Hopefully destroyed trees will create bottlenecks that slow down the transportation of any enemy and the number of alarms will disperse the enemy's response.

Yo, Players' Club. I wanted to check in to say thanks for bearing with the slow week at Dark Thrones. I've been in a slump of posting I know, and definitely a bit distant. Same old excuse I guess: busy at work.

I want to revive full flow next week starting Monday for sure, but I also hope to weigh in a little on the down time this weekend if possible. Definitely nothing that will demand any attention or response, so don't feel obligated to monitor - just casual comms and housekeeping updates with anyone that wants to hang out with story news, character development, comments as it develops.

Hey, Ox. Would you be game with sharing Bryn's story sometime, maybe tell us what his motivations or recent experiences have been, maybe a teaser of what he is all about. I think that he and the rest of the crowd will hit it off pretty well.

Anyone else send me anything you need, questions, comments - I'm going to have some pretty good down time this weekend.

Let's be ready to rock on Monday, and make that a day of staging up for the raid.

And as the week goes on, I'd say get ready to ante up with whatever chips you're playing and get ready to throw some dice.

I'm not going to be "that rogue" that works against the party, Bryn will just play with his cards close to the chest until he feels he can trust the mercenaries.

Ox, sorry to hear about the back injury. Hoping for your speedy recovery.
Jun 16, 2017 9:06 pm
Get well soon, Ox! I know a bit of what it is like to be bed ridden from a spine injury. I broke my neck once and was stuck in bed for a month solid after the surgery. Took me three months before I could walk around without massive pain.

So who's swimming down there to go inside and open the front door?
Jun 16, 2017 10:51 pm
Damn, Ox. Hang in there. And damn CB, your neck? Both of you ...sounds horrible. Count me out, knock on wood, all that.

Fair enough.

Ha. Man, we're all swimming down. Besides, opening that massive door might as well ring a doorbell.

Are the Tcho-Tcho giving breath holding lessons?
Jun 16, 2017 11:42 pm
Isn't it +1 minutes per CON bonus? Maybe RC will brew something. Most of us are rocking good CONs though so I'm thinking we can make it.
Jun 16, 2017 11:44 pm
It is. Good thing Danniens are tough as nails.

SRD says:
A creature can hold its breath for a number of minutes equal to 1 + its Constitution modifier (minimum of 30 seconds).

When a creature runs out of breath or is choking, it can survive for a number of rounds equal to its Constitution modifier (minimum of 1 round). At the start of its next turn, it drops to 0 hit points and is dying, and it can't regain hit points or be stabilized until it can breathe again.

Hey CB, just noticed that Maeriks is Druid/Champion on Character list. Nice combo. Intriguing. Power hulk druid champion with some brute force and spell options. Dope.

The Battlemaster Gang has been diversified through death. Looking forward to see how M pans out.

I debated for a long time if I should keep it a secret that he is a druid or not. You all (players, not PCs) and Rutcranna know this before Maeriks does.

He is a simpleton. He speaks minimally. He is obnoxious. He does the most inane things that annoy the fuck out of everyone. They all still like the guy, yet can't stand him. Fucking Maeriks, the god damned dim wit.

Members of his tribe and visiting neighbors came to tolerate his bad temperament and simple mindedness due to some inexplicable sense of feeling good and doing well when he encouraged them. (He was casting Guidance on them, with out either party realizing it. And sometimes even Charm.) He is also the village cook, especially since he seems to always be able to get the fire going, no matter how bad the weather is. (Casting druidcraft without realizing it.) The food he cooks isn't really the best, but it's always done well enough, is never under prepared, and no one can complain about getting the shits after eating his meals. (Gourmand to cook it right, Casting Purify Food and Drink, Maybe a Goodberry. Again, without realizing it.) He is often seen talking like an idiot to the various wildlife. He has named every one of the crocodiles that frequent the waters around the village. Everyone in the village knows that the idiot is going to get eaten by them one of these days if he keeps getting so damned close to them. (Casting Animal Friendship and Speak with Animals.... without realizing he's casting it.)

As a druid, he doesn't train and doesn't even really know he's casting his spells. He "thinks real hard" some times before he has to do something. This is his way of meditating to prepare the spells he is going to need. Going to prepare dinner for the day? Think real hard and remember the things that needs - always have to make the fire, that can be real hard sometimes. The food is real dirty sometimes and needs to be cleaned real well. See an alligator swimming out in the waters? Better go tell that beast to stay away from his friends!

As a fighter, well that is the life of every Dannein. He doesn't know too much about fighting tactically, but he knows where it hurts to be hit and so he swings hard at those places. He is also always ready to help out when someone gets hurt. Sometimes it's just about yelling at his friend to tuff up be strong! (healing word), other times he has to help put the right plants on wounds to make them better. He's not sure how he knows, but when he thinks real hard he can always find what leaves, dirt, and spit have to be put on to help wounds heal much faster. (Cure wounds)

Like how M's druid spells are explained through his simplicity. The man doesn't even know he's using nature power.
