Over time and after extended chopping damage, a net would be weakened - eventually ruined.
But I don't think of that as the same as a captured person cutting their way out of being entangled.
(Going to leave this purposefully vague, but if you cause 10 HP damage chopping someone in the back while they are Restrained, it's not going to be the 10 hp they need to end the condition.)

I kept the ball rolling and posted up opponent Actions for Round 1. Most of them require responses from some of you before we see all results.

I know it is the weekend, so this is a slow-roll. Participate at whatever speed you want, if at all.

I've got a slow weekend with a good amount of time open for drinking and gaming intermittently, so I'll pop in and out to respond as possible depending on what you guys post up, BUT I'll hold back until Monday and make sure everyone is caught up before we get back to regular schedj.

That was a productive Top of Round for you guys. Goat Fighters had bad luck (sorry Ox, Ez - you know it was going to happen to somebody), but the other two crews drew some real blood and it shows. Keep fighting!!!

I've been thinking since the beginning of this current combat: shouldn't we have formed up defensively around the throne instead of squaring off separately?

Dammit! Worst timing ever for a pair of failed saves.
I've been thinking the same thing. Especially in light of current domination...

Seemed a given to form up defensively. The way I pictured it the group was formed up loosely within the rune circles waiting for the incoming assault.

I picture it generally the same as Ez says. These guys are coming from three different angles, so you all shifted around to receive them coming in. No one charged out to the perimeter or anything.
Assuming everyone spaced out on the ground floor, right near the edge of the single rise platform that counts as the innermost circle. The non-combatants plus Rutcranna and Hinka are huddled up on top of that at the Throne.
Because of the spacing of the Throne, the girls defended, and the single step stair, the layout would not have been optimal to hug in really close for a shoulder to shoulder defense, back to the Throne and on top of one another, with a stair to stumble over at any false step during combat.
But still, you guys are right their close to one another. 5' adjacent for Sentinel shots to other sub-teams? No. Not enough people to do that and cover all assailants. But at the most, each team is only about 15 or 20 feet away from each other - easy space to cover if you want to shift.

This is still a shitty situation no matter how we slice it.

Our damage output has been pitiful and no one has dropped yet. Hopefully we have better luck and Rutcranna doesn't get fucked up.

For starters, it's gonna be a bitch grinding through all that Damage Resistance! Gotta create Advantage whenever possible, and make sure to get Reactions in. Even then it's a shitfest.

Oh, don't take this as a complaint, J! This shit is awesome! :-D

Thanks for the shout. As a fan of the party, I enjoyed watching how all of your guys' Actions and all of the dice landed to culminate to that series and ending. And it was dependent on each Saving Throw and EVERY SINGLE POINT OF DAMAGE (got him to zero HP on the dot that delivered the Exhaustion levels on him, made him fail Save by Disadvantage, etc.).
