Hey Guys, lets talk about Maeriks for a moment. During the down time he went through some heavy depression and began to wild shape during periods when he was balck-out drunk. He progressively did more and more destructive things while in his wild shape until he started to get his life back in order and gain control of the wild shape ability.

What does the group know of Maeriks' wild shape ability? Has he shared it with you all? Anyone? He certainly wouldn't let this be some sort of public domain knowledge. But I don't think that this would be entirely kept just to himself.

In part, I ask because I have a vision of a cool scene where a bull suddenly comes charging out of the dissipating fog.

Ivor is pretty vocal about his aversion to druids. If he finds out Maeriks is a druid I don't think he'll freak out but he will begin to treat Maeriks with a certain level of mistrust. He'll remember the ziggurat and think, "so he WASN'T just being mind-controlled; part of him WANTED to betray us!"

Pre-Ziggurat Bryn would probably be freaked the fuck out by Maeriks turning into a mother fucking bull, but post-ziggurat Bryn who has now seen some fucked up magic shit, would totally be ok with it, and might even try to ride the lumbering beast into combat.

Maybe when Bryn hits his next ASI level, he will take the mounted combatant feat, bahaha.

Hey guys, the fam and I are spending tomorrow flying to Montana for Christmas, so I probably won't get any posting in until later on Thursday... Feel free to roll for Thorn if need be.

On that topic, fellas:
I want to post updates today Wednesday and tomorrow Thursday if you guys are up for it, but I think we should take a hard break from Friday - Monday entirely away from the game.
For me it will be tempting to hang out on the boards and post because I will be home with free time during most of that stretch, but I really need to stay off of the computer screen for family time over Christmas weekend.

I'm on board for that schedule, J. I'll be hanging around too, but some time to focus on family and the holidays is welcome.

Broke my own downtime scheduling plan, but I wanted to post in the updates of all Actions in and close out the final layout of the scene for the pause. I'm not breaking any family time, no one is awake in the house now, so not worried about it.

Freakin crazy. The party overtakes a pirate ship, in short order. Maybe put that fire out and enjoy the new ride?

Y'all, 'tis the season, and I believe in magic. But you know, low magic. So I just wanted to say that I believe in Dark Thrones: West Marches. This is a Christmas Letter for that:


Dear Dark Thrones: West Marches,

I hope you can be resurrected for a Christmas Miracle, even though I'm pretty sure that Resurrection doesn't really exist within you as a world.

Behroz is a really cool character. He really wants to survive to make it to second level. Rest assured, if he did, he would not take up one of the preferred ratio allotments for magical classes permitted in the group.

Gurganus is very hard to understand, but he is very fat and jolly in a deranged violent butcher kind of way. Maybe he can play the role of Santa Claus in the setting if you need someone for that.

Navarro needs more time to develop the entire set of Esosanan curse words and slang phrases. Please allow.

And lastly, maybe Oxbox can get some sort of character off the ground during 2018, although I know he is scared to play Barbarians. There are enough strong characters in the party to protect him I think, so consider granting him his request that he made to you by PM, which is to play a Bard. Our team could use some good guitar or flute music in the background.

I rolled up and made a Barbarian for DTWM, I just never started because I was strapped for time. But he's a beast.
