Maeriks is all for pressing forward and seeing if we can help those calling with the horn - or at least learn what is going on. We know now that these hounds are dangerous, but Maeriks suggests that killing them, the second time, with javelins would work. They were also trying to stop the group from getting to the robed man. Maeriks would like to see how comfortable that man is when his protectors are about to explode right next to him.

Man, many of the BLR songs are ridiculously hilarious even while catchy. I think it's also funny because by the sound of them, if you ignore the words, you would think they are real pop songs that you could reasonably hear on the radio. But inside they are all complete nonsense, to show you that real pop song sounds are really just pretty easy to churn out and verbal content doesn't really matter.

I like how you are staging it up for us to drive the story more. I have some ideas and will post something this weekend.

Well, to be honest I will proba ly start this weekend and finish the post on Monday.

I have reading and catching up to do, I will hopefully be good to go for Monday.

I have become a professional mushroom at work, always in the dark with a fresh sprinkling of shit from time to time. We are going to be busy for a while, so if I'm holding things up, please auto me.

Back in the saddle after the flu has been handing me my ass since Saturday. I forgot how damn miserable the flu is.

Sorry to hear about the sickness, Ez. Flu has been a bulldozer this year sounds like. Two family members in NC were laid out for an entire week. Two employees here in DC were hospitalized. I'm counting myself lucky for dodging that.

He's getting overrun by brutal 60 hour work weeks because his skills and expertise are so sought after. ;) He's a badass for getting it done, but says he's falling asleep exhausted every minute he gets free. Needless to say, he's had trouble posting. Understandable, Ox - good luck, bro!

Still he has been keeping up with the story and wants Bryn to get involved. He sent me a set of ideas that he wishes to field, so I am going to carefully try to put those forward in limited scope following his direction, just to briefly frame Bryn's use of time during these story developments, until Ox can hopefully get to the other side of this work surge and take over active play.

Ox, hope to catch up with you later. Get that money when you put in that work, son!

Players' Club,

I just kicked off a new thread in Games Tavern seeing if there is any interest from the GP crowd about joining in on a new phase of DT Expansion. I have talked to some of you on the side about this already, but I'm blowing it wide open right now here on the home Admin boards too to address the topic however we need to.

We've been rocking this game for a long run now, and I want to keep it going. For the sake of keeping a healthy dose of change and willingness to evolve, I want to open up the possibility of adding 1 - 3 new players.

My hope is that we could find some new blood to give us a boost and some fresh ideas, new spin, etc. I also want a dash of chaos and unpredictability, which is one of the things that we are all about here.

If we expand to 6 or 8 players, I think it will open the door to more input and more gas in the tank to keep the story driving forward with cool scenes. With that size roster we can also deal with it a little better when one of us inevitably has a lull in availability.

This isn't going to be "first come, first served" program on people joining. I want to do my best effort of finding good players to match our game style, so we'll see how it goes on the interest post and what that generates. I'll definitely be sending you guys questions/info about potential candidates. If you guys have recommendations (on good candidates or anything else), definitely let me know. In any case, we won't rush into anything.

But I don't want this to sidetrack the active game, which is the top priority. We're moving forward full throttle as normal. The Dark Thrones culture and legacy is really important to me, and you guys are the founders of it (should we say Dark Fathers?). I want to protect what we are doing here and also set us up for success as we go into Dark Thrones Year 2. If you are inclined, I invite any of you guys to weigh in on the Games Tavern announcement post. You guys are the best recruiters we have, and I think the crowd would value testimonial or answers from people actually playing the game advertised. This isn't required by any means, but it's definitely welcomed.

Wanted to follow up with the DT Expansion Plan. Pretty much to say that Expansion is over and we are transitioning into the Dark Thrones Character Generation Plan for our newest 3 members.

Thanks for the plug on the Games Tavern board, too. I had really good response right away by PM, and to me it did not take long at all to find good talent to join us.

After conversation about joining our group and hearing their character ideas and gaming styles, I think these guys are going to be heavyweight contenders.

Old school Dark Fathers feel free to let these guys know the ropes if they need anything. In the background, I'm working with everyone as they shape out characters, trying to weave intro framework that fits with the setting. Still keeping up the tradition, tacitly at least, about not discussing character design in advance. That may flex a little later, depending on what we need to integrate. Not exactly sure when or how the characters will make first appearances on the narrative, but these guys are in the Players' Club as of now! Don't hesitate to open comms any way you see fit here on Admin.

The Ep 2 story is still pedal down, and goal will be to merge new stories with this one as soon as it can work, with minimum interruption and maximum theatrics. Can't wait to see it happen.
