Ya, Ez. Jabes and I had to go Secret Squirrel the whole way. Hiding conveniently behind "Blind Character Generation" with the "(Overtaken)" label tacked on to boot. Your brainchild from back in the day by the way, so that is extra cool to hear that it foiled your would-be espionage for the Top Secret CharGen Folder. Ha!

I'm pretty sure Jabes is one of the best character creators in the Conference. He had 4 amazing ideas for characters, and I really liked all of them. I think he picked the best one to field though. I know Iasu is going to be a big addition to the story. I THINK he's going to be a big addition to the party. We'll see about that I guess. This group is a weird bunch, not sure how they will respond to Iasu who is just as weird - especially when he's SERVING UP POISON AND MIND CONTROL DRUGS TO ALL PCs RIGHT NOW!!!

Players' Club,

I'm going to call a strategic pause on the game. I'm heading into some heavy work over the weekend and early next week, and then rolling right to family vacation on/after 4th of July. It also sounds from sidebar convos that a lot of others are slammed by RL obligations right now as well.

After a break, maybe later in the week of 9 July, I'll reach out to you guys here on Admin collectively and on PM individually to get your assessments on continuing the game or not. I'd love to keep on to the end of the Episode 2 with anyone that wants to reboot in mid or late July. If some people can't swing it because of RL commitment, or just wants to bow out for any other reasons, we can make the adjustment then.

Again, I hope to take a break, regroup, and then game. I really love hanging out with you guys every minute, love the characters, love the veteran style of you guys as players, love the OOC and comedy - the whole nine yards - so I hope I'm coming across the right way and not being perceived as cold or dour or scolding in the message here.

I don't know for sure, depends on character directions and choices, but I could see Ep 2 lasting about 45 or 60 more days if we stick with it. I'll catch up with you on the other side after some time away to think it over - we can talk then and see who's game for game-on to finish out the story however it is going to go.

For those of you celebrating, have an awesome 4th of July. For those of you coming back to DT, I'm really looking forward to getting back to the virtual table to game with you and seeing what the hell is going on with these battling factions.

Nice cliffhanger, J. Yeah, I know it wasn't pre-planned like some TV show, but it sure as hell turned out the way. Coming in to that camp/battleground, witnessing the battle, myrmidon on fire, giant spiders crawling over the walls, the last second appearance of Iasu to help the crew mend...

I can just imagine the credits on the episode rolling and thinking "What the fuck happens next?"

Sorry that I have been absent we have been prepping our house to sell and trying to find a new home.
We ended up selling our house in under 24 hours of being on the market (fuck yeah) but we are still trying to firm up a deal on a new place.

Happy Canada Day and 4th of July everybody. I'm also sorry for my mediocre game involvement. I feel especially bad since J is super prolific with the details and story lines and I've been barely able to scrape ten words together. I have to admit I'm having a bit of a hard time finding my place in the group and getting used to this game's style, but I'm also guilty of not putting the time in on my end.

Oxbox, good luck with the house hunting. Always a huge stress but sounds like it's falling in place.

A strange circumstance that you guys forced after blowing out of that trap room - a costly route, but a real monkey-wrench in the predictability of the story flow. Kray chilling out smoking in the catacomb lounge, starting up conversations with armed strangers like it's nothing special - I can see it now. Of course he is.

Len, thanks for sticking with it. Man, I think you might be blown away at how much Sizhen might be able to capitalize on in these coming circumstance. This story as you see needs a Sherlock Holmes in a bad way. I really love having you on the boards, bro - you are a great storyteller and a master at character development. I get it that sometimes it takes a bit to get a flow in some scenes, I know too DT is a clunky machine of late, but I really hope you might give it another go to see what happens. I think we're right there at the explosive points in combat, RP, abilities, story exploitation - everything. Give me one more at-bat, bro.

X, I can sympathize on the job demands - I may get hit by another tidal wave on new projects upcoming too - I know that is always a delicate balancing act. Good luck on getting to normalization, I look forward to catching up with you in a week or so and get things on full flow. Suspect Thorn will be going full Voltron against some giant boss robot, alien, monster. And all the while I'm generally wondering if Thorn will turn into a DT Paladin and go rescue some damsel right after he cuts someone in half.

Jabes, Iasu is soaking in the spotlight on the upcoming scenes it seems to me! I think I know a decent amount about this guy, but I know you tend to leave a lot of character style development to active play, so that is something I'm looking forward to.

J, I'm not going anywhere.

When I said I'd join the game, I knew you were spending a significant amount of time to work things to make room for me. And when I say you have a great thing going here, I mean it. This is a monumental achievement in PbP that you have all made and I'm blown away by it. I want to contribute to it, to be a part of it.

When it comes down to it, I respect the time of everyone in this game, especially J who puts in a huge amount of creativity and energy. J's not a guy with a lot of free time, so this comes from a place of passion.

I also recognize that the game is in a bit of a transitionary phase. Lots of cut scenes as J tries to believably bring new players together with old. The lack of freedom chafes a bit but I know J is trying to get things on track and has a lot of balls in the air. Its gotta be that way sometimes.

And I also recognize that during my time here, the whole team has been busy as hell IRL and it's hard to do much more than keep up with the events nevermind side interactions and such. I have also been struggling with IRL shit.

But when I say I'm struggling, I'm not saying I'm giving up or anything. I'm just putting my struggles out there to let everyone know where I am at, because I want to find a solution. And, I want people to know my slower post frequency did not come from a place of disinterest.

I am in it for the long haul :)
