Business before pleasure, right? I'll be ready to go when you are.

Yo, Players' Club.

Alright, so I've got X in the mix.
Ez making an entry.
Jabes, bro, we talked by PM - know you are out there.

Would like to get a roll call entry of sorts from everyone else: CB, Ox, Hyp. At this point I have to really understand that you guys are at the wheel, or not, before we drive on into this storyline.

To be straight: I have to know if I've got you guys at the helm on your characters on a daily/every-other-day basis, or if I need to plan on doing some best-effort NPC management. The second is not optimal. I don't want that. But it might be necessary if there is no other option.

Not every scene is like this, but this one I think will demand a pretty good measure of uninterrupted post-read-respond flow from you guys to work.

What do you say?

Everyone on staff?

Players' Club UP!

Save any unexpected work bullshit; I should be ready for the pedal to hit the metal. I don't know anything about cars to keep this car metaphor going so, yeah, I'm ready.
HypCo says:
He quietly and quickly asks Bryn and Iasu for any arrows to spare before falling into a good position for range.
Also, this. Was it missed or is y'all just being stingy with your pointy sticks? Jokes aside, I'm not trying to guilt you into giving your arrows up; it makes sense, Ryhim is new, not sure if he is trusted yet, totes fine. I just want to see if I should mark down a number of arrows or annex the bow and plan for that course. PC not mad, character not mad, simply looking for confirmation, be it declination or acceptance.

Hyp, quit getting so hostile, bro. It’s just a story game.

Sorry, I totally missed it. Iasu is low on ammo himself (only 6 arrows left). When asked, he would have given Ryhim 2 arrows.

OOC:
One last short pause there, chance for Players to keep it moving or not after that one final threat, full clarity on conditions in effect, and seeing situation fully.
When I say stuff like this to my players, it is often DM-speak for "Y'all are about to do something really, really stupid."

Ha ha, whether you mean it that way or not, J, the Basement has been a fun ride. Creepy as hell and plenty of Holy-Shit-I'm-Going-To-Die.

Ha! More like this I think...
In an effort to wait for input, check again for compliance, and avoid DM-takeover, I'm probably overselling it at this point.

Nah probably not. You know it's going to be nasty.

Set up in an alcove: Iasu likes it. Light source beside him painting a target on his fucking forehead: Iasu does not like.
If that's a torch, I'm yanking it from the holder and tossing it to the merc unit. If not, well what are my options?

I hear you, Jabes. Check the picture that gives more detail than the map representation.
The light source in the corner is not a torch. It’s a structural stone fire place built into the wall. It does create some shadows around the structure below and around it, also might give some slight cover if you crouch down off to the side of it, and alternatively has a higher perch to jump up onto if one needed to move quickly to some higher ground for sighting, evasion, whatever. For those reasons, I thought of it as having some potential as something better than nothing on terrain optimization.

But as far as lighting goes, you guys are pretty well covered in fire-based light. This room isn't going to be the light and visibility challenge as the Chessboard Battle Scene was. There are 2 big cauldrons on the main floor, plus the fireplace sitting high. Kray just threw down another torch. It’s a pretty small place too – not much floor to choose from. Nice shadowy nook hiding places to completely withdraw into are going to be in short supply unfortunately.

Best hiding efforts would be to withdraw out of the room and back up the ramp of the ascending (from this position) tunnel. With the upward slant there, it isn’t long before visibility is cut off by the line of sight angle through the threshold.
Your call – name a place and Iasu has position there.

I guess I'll take my chances in this little nook. Elevation, such as it is, is gold for an archer.

Alert Feat: Player can choose up to two different Category of Action dice, and use the next die lower for the Initiative roll on each of them.
What if it's already a d4? Do I get to convert to a d2? Hehe! Sorry, I forgot what we did before.

DMJ

Ha! Not sure.
1d2 sounds fine.

Last time I don’t think we moved any d4s. Maybe some d6s TO d4s.

Hey J, want to bounce somethin off your dome piece. Since Ryhim is borderline useless combat wise due to unobtainable sneak attack, low chance of hitting from disadvantage, and only a finite amount of ammo I was thinking of my other choices.

For this modified initiative, what does it cost to speak? See specifically the Actor feat. My hope is to attempt to mimic Suter-shit's voice to make these edamame bounce, what would be the die size for this? Also, to hide as a BA from cunning action, is that a d6?

Just covering my bases here, are free actions not a thing here? IE the classic drop and draw switch. Do I need to roll for that?

You should be able to get sneak attacks in enemies engaged with others. Advantage attack.

Hyp, sounds like 1d6 for Move and 1d6 for Hide. No cost to speak.

Ez, let’s just keep Commander Strike linked to the Attack like all other Maneuvers. No extra Initiative cost but it becomes activated for use at the sequence of the Attack.
Mar 23, 2019 1:44 am
Sounds good.

Suter-Set... and that image you threw down for him... not so good.

Damn it to hell... don't know why I just thought of this: we should've set up some fire arrows and set Suter-Set's desiccated ass on fire. Maybe he's fire resistant, but if not, that would've been some dope track to drop on him. Fire barrels all around to use for that move.

Did you miss a die roll for Elam? If not, can you explain; I'm trying to grasp this initiative still, I think.
Mar 23, 2019 11:59 am
Yeah I count 4d4 based on the action list.
