Iasu's resignation to a cruel fate is a heartbreaker, Jabes. Fucking Elam is out of control. Of all the possible outcomes, with all of the members of the two factions who could have had so many other story lines - and it ends up this guy weasels his way all the way to the end, lone conspirator, unbridled, ... turns into sharknado and annihilates the whole Ep!

Looks like the team is leaving... or is it?

Kray is out in the open on his choice.
What about Thorn and Ryhim?
How does Thorn think about this with his heart that is still pumping blood through his veins because Iasu pulled him out of the jaws of death, and with his mind that is still coming up with thoughts because it wasn't eaten by dogs a couple of hours ago?
Does Ryhim even remember more than half of his remaining teammates' names in the Chamber of the Pit?
We shall see.

Looks like NPC Bryn just joined a one-man suicide squad...or did he?
Is no one even willing to cover him with some Range or risk a snatch and Disengage?
Does Bryn have anything up his NPC sleeve?
Could opposing Arcana contest rolls ever be NOT lame?
Can J contain his rampant distaste for NPC vs. NPC battles and actually manage such a scene fairly without either overwriting it or completely losing interest?
We shall see.

Just to be clear, Iasu has given up, but Jabes has not! I agree with Kray's assessment of this situation (Ez, you're playing him wonderfully! Admiration right back at you!) but heck, if something changes and the balance shifts even just a little then Iasu just might decide, "Fuck it, why can't I be the one that lives?"

No matter what happens here, this continues to be one hell of a ride, and I am not stepping off!

It's been an riveting game.

I must admit, I had a very hard time figuring out how someone like Thorn would react after a near-death experience. Part of me really wanted to have him say "Fuck all of you. I'm not going to the Seance Chamber until I've had 8 hours!" He's been next to useless, and I almost lost him again anyway, so that part of me is relieved that the rest of the players are on board with getting the hell out of Dodge, as much as that sucks regarding leaving people behind and never finding out what was on the other side of the vault door.

Jesus. This is the kind of stress I signed up for in the first place, J!

Absolutely riveting. Right word for it X. I check in on DT regularly, but this climax scene has me checking the boards for the last few weeks like a crackhead who won the lotto into a crackhouse.

Intense, weighty shit going on.

Like you said, riveting.

Fuck.

Sorry it took so long to post, like I said I've been at a loss. Between choosing which option I felt made the most sense, going against my better judgement when the Save Iasu fit the best, then work interupting my post; it's been a journey to say the least.

Ryhim is GTFO'ing the second Iasu even looks like he stops breathing. Hiccups? Good enough for me, see ya. I do have very good reasons for the choice, partially detailed in my post, others behind the scene.

Fuck.

Yo, Players' Club. Worst of timing here, but I'm getting caught in the crossfire in The Real.
Just got some really difficult assignments dropped in my lap that are an immediate hard hit and probably going to get worse right away.
Also, will admit I'm a little out of gas on the gaming from flooring it pedal-to-the-metal during this Ultimate Showdown of Intrigue, Doom, and Adventure that has exploded on the boards. My behind-the-screen timetable and input tracker is killing me with all of the developments and news that I have to translate into written post descriptions - slightly intimidated probably.
I regret having to say it because I want to game this hardcore for the record books, but with this thing going on at work I have to face facts: I've got to step away for a bit to stabilize before I fuck up and drop the ball on something high visibility/ high impact.

I need the rest of the work week off. Hoping to get back and reset on Friday night maybe or sometime Saturday.

Really hate it because I'm riding the tidal wave of this scene you guys have going. With Kray and Thorn making the decision to initiate EXFIL, and then Ryhim going to join NPC Bryn for a shot at saving Iasu - I was like "BRO. HOLY. THE ACTUAL. WTF. Never seen anything so OFF THE CHAIN!" (off The Irons? off the Small Irons, specifically?)

Really appreciate all the drama. All the participation. All the HARDCORE GAME gasoline that you guys are pouring onto this high mound of burning tires stacked over top of six barrels of napalm in the middle.

I'll be back, will get reorganized, and will get this end scene - correction - THESE TWO end scenes into Action.
Sealed script.
No one knows what is going to happen.
Bros, is anyone going to take up the task of converting y'alls' story to screenplay?

Thanks for patience, fellas.

As always, RL first. Take em out, J. A short pause isn't a bad thing here, either. It has been pedal to the medal, and a great ride, to be absolutely certain. A pit (ha!) stop will be good to rotate the tires and refuel.

Very much looking forward to getting back in action, but do you what you've gotta do first.

Xorthan says:
As Kray comes between him and the wretch, Thorn runs back up the hallway, back toward the broken door, back toward the surface. The muscles in his legs burn and ache, and his pace is really more of an awkward, limping, stride.

DMJ says:
OOC:
Jabes, last pop summary Character sheet had Iasu at 23 HP. I hate to say it, but I think it's lower.

Start at 61.
Then I think Iasu had some Temp HPs. This is the entry I couldn't find. I think it may be 9.
So say 70.

Small Irons caused 22 and 25. Total 47. Moves HP down to 23.

CON Saves for CON loss was one Fail and one Save. That means -3 CON.
CON originally 14, giving +2 HP/level. CON is reduced to 11, giving 0 Mod/Level.
That makes another loss of 16 HP.

Current HP is 7.
I think.

Sorry to be such an asshole policing. Unfortunately I'm having to be devastatingly brutal on this and pry on the numbers because several other PC/NPC actions and choices are being built around 1) time and 2) Iasu's health and status.

Show me I'm wrong. I could very well be. I just need to be sure to track what happens.

J-Ruthless
Nah, I'm sure you've got it right. Honestly, I'm surprised I'm not ZHP yet.

Hyp with the mimicry again. Man, Ryhim needs to bail on the dangerous life and get his DT acting career going.

Kray will be his agent! Ha!

Out of town with family rest of the week. Not much spacing, privacy, time, etc. Will do what I can on posting - might be sporadic, brief.

On travel again and in meetings all week. Unpredictable availability.

Been slammed by work and a cold. So pretty much like Thorn... just limping along, trying to keep track of what the hell is going on at the moment, and glad not much is resting on his shoulders or mine at the moment! He would have picked up Elam's pack for sure, but Ez beat me to it, just like Kray beat Thorn to it.

I got the part about Kray's shield, Ez, so Thorn at least has that to use to increase the usefulness of the Dodge action should it become necessary.

Can't remember DT kukri stats.

Let’s say 1d6 Light
Apr 24, 2019 4:19 pm
Is 'Light' changed in DT from regular? Melee was brought to my thoughts the other day and I've been trying to remember what you said about it. Went and found it:
Quote:
I'm not a big fan of the arrow as a Melee weapon, getting the DEX Mod as if it is a Finesse trait hand-held weapon. Will roll with it this time, but in the future, that's an Improvised Weapon with STR as Modifier. Run that same scenario with a kukri, scimitar, short sword, etc. - no complaints.
No complaints; just clarification. How us Dex bois 'posed to get up close and kissy?

Update: or I may have misremembered what's what. Disregard. Finesse is what Dex bois are after, Light just allows dual wielding.

Yeah. Maybe kukri has Finesse also. Forgot that.

Just say kukri is like short sword in characteristics.
Apr 24, 2019 5:24 pm
If finesse, then this attack would have been +8 to hit, 1d6+5 damage.
