Off-hand Knife Attack
Primary Dagger Attack
Results: both Hit

With the hybrid on the right entangled in Ivor's net, Hinka waits for the right moment and then springs into action. He slices the creature on the back of the leg and then circles under and around it, jabbing his dagger into the low part of the creatures back near the kidneys.

Hybrid L
Round 1

Having committed too early to attack Rutcranna, the hybrid on the left is caught flat-footed as Kray, Thorn, and Brynn dive into the smoke, bringing a flurry of chopping and stabbing blades.

The large creature is slashed and pierced beyond description. Death falls upon it within seconds.

Hybrid R
Round 1

Captured in the net and also toppled prone on the ground, the hybrid is surrounded by Ivor, Maeriks, and Hinka. Heavily injured and seemingly terrorized, the creature has a look of a panicked cornered animal.

Round 2

Help Action.

Watching the injured and only remaining hybrid thrash in the net, Rutcranna stages up in the smoke, looking for an opening to help the others in their attacks if the creature gets free.

Hybrid R
Round 2

Attempt to escape net. DC 10 DEX.

Tossing the net off and casting it to the side, the creature lets out a deep hissing sound and takes up its spear, desperately trying to defend though it remains vulnerable on the ground.

Rutcranna leaps in and pulls the creature's arm, turning the fish hulk slightly off balance before it wrenches its clawed hand away from the witch. The brief falter and distraction makes the monstrosity even more open to incoming attacks from Maeriks and Ivor than it already was.

Bottom Round 2

Ivor or Maeriks can get Advantage on Attack against Hybrid R from Rutcranna's Help Action.
OOC:
I know that by the rules of a round it is a free-for-all and this target could really be open for anyone/everyone. At the same time,
for imagery and realism of the raid stack formation I would prefer if Jabes and CB be allowed to send Ivor/Maeriks in first. Hinka will probably get the picture that the big warriors have this in the bag already.
Won't wait all day though, so CB Jabes send it in if you want to lay into this fishy weightlifter before the rest of the crowd piles on.

Timing his attack to take advantage of the hybrid's effort to protect itself on multiple fronts, Maeriks silently swings with all he's got.

Probably doesn't matter now because I bet Maeriks took it out but did it save vs. Ivor's trip attack? Ivor's intent was to lay multiple conditions on it. He's holding onto the net now when casting it so he can rock Trip and Grapple attempts on top of Restrained.

Maeriks
Round 2

Maerik's heavy war club crashes down on the creatures skull before the tripped monster can get up. A grotesque crunching sound and the creature's head splatters against the hard stone of the floor.
Jul 17, 2017 5:09 pm
Ivor gives the big man a nod of respect and looks around the room for any further threats.
OOC:
Where the fuck's Gorolach?
Jul 17, 2017 5:44 pm
Kray's contentment at the sight of the fallen fish mongrels is fleeting as he motions for the group to press on.

Grunting his readyness to move ahead, Maeriks looks around, ready for more attackers.

The team presses through to the other side of the smoke and further into the room.

Rutcranna, slightly in the lead, speaks out without looking back, "Muirne, Naohm! Come through the smoke and use your pitcher of water to douse the flames of these cauldrons."

The room is large - roughly a square of about 150+ feet across each way, with high ceilings. Archways go off to the right and to the back right of the room. The entire place is lit fully with torch sconces, high cast-iron candle stands, and lanterns. Still the massive size of the room is vast, and shadows cast hear and there throughout.

To the right are several heavy wooden tables and chairs. A dining and serving area. They seem to be of rather recent construction.

In the middle is a large central fire pit, sunken into the floor. A large expanse with the embers of a fire still burning. In the high ceiling above is a flute for smoke to escape. Around the pit are a few different grates and hangers, apparently for grilling and smoking.

To the left is a long line of couches, beds, throw sacks, pillows, and cots. Most of the lounging furniture is covered with wool blankets or soft animal skins over stuffed sacks. Though a bit rugged, it looks like a series of stations of great comfort.

To the back left is an area that looks to be a throwing and archery range. There are several targets set up and barrels of javelins nearby, and a few javelins extending out rigid from the targets themselves.

In the center of the room, off center in truth, on the other side of the fire pit, two women are packing items from a large table and into 2 medium sized boxes sitting on the ground. They are Dannein girls, barefoot and scantily clad in simple buckskin and wool skirts and wraps. They are either late teens or early 20s. Dark hair.

The two girls look terrified to see the team walk in and seem to double their efforts of packing material into the boxes. Upon closer attention (by look and sound) it becomes clear that the girls are moving coins and other metal objects off of the great table and into the boxes.

From further on in the back of the room, a heavy masculine voice rings out, "Now, you slow bitches! Bring it! Pick up the boxes and run! NOW!!!"

With that the frightened girls give a big heave and start running with boxes towards the back of the room. One of the girls makes it. The other one looses her footing in the rush. She tumbles forward, sprawling headlong down on the stone floor. The heavy chest filled with coins and other treasures crashes with a loud BANG and a rattle and clang of metal on stone echoes through the great chamber as a great hiss. Coins, goblets, plates, jewelry, and other metal wares cascade forward onto the floor in the back of the room.

Scuffed up and terrified, the girl pushes up to her knees and looks overwhelmed with terror. She looks towards the back of the room, and then spins to look back at the approaching party. Her eyes are wide with fright. She frantically starts trying to scrape the coins up into piles. She is visibly quaking from head to toe and bursts into tears.

"Jilleen Ing Nashi! You stay where you are, girl! Lay flat down on the ground. If you stand up and move one step, these men will shoot you with an arrow in your heart! LIE DOWN!!"

Young Jilleen quakes and lets out a yell of despair. She heaves in great breathes and coughs as she cries with abandon. She moves slowly, shaking, to the floor - lying prostrate and sobbing loudly into the room. Gold coins and precious baubles are cast all around her.

Rutcranna walks forward steadily, eyes locked on the back of the room.

As the team gets up close to the fire pit, now traveling around it, it becomes clear what is in the back of the room.

About 50' away, elevated up a dais of stairs leading up to a higher platform....

A huddle of a dozen or so Dannein women and girls. All dressed with few clothes, their flesh exposed - they are all grouped up tightly in a formation. Some in the front row are crouched down on their knees. A second row stands upright. The faces of the girls are wrought with fear and trepidation. Many of them are shaking. A few are crying. Some shudder as the group approaches. They give a collective murmur as moans and sobs of fear escape from their lips as they try to strengthen their resolve.

The other woman with the heavy box finishes her hard run, climbs the stairs, and reaches the group. The girls let her pass and she gets into the center of the group. A crash rings through the chamber, the heavy box being dropped hard onto the floor within the formation.

Behind the standing women, in the middle of the huddle formation, stand several full-size body shields. Something or someone is being protected in the middle. Surrounded by a collection of human and wooden shields.

"Stop right there, witch! Tell your men to stop right where they are." A strong voice booms out from the center of the formation. His form is yet unseen, but his voice suggests that he is a large and gruff man

"STOP, I SAY!", he yells.

Then shifting to a lower volume, but firmly. "I have the girl. I will kill her, Rutcranna."

Finally Rutcranna slows her beeline march. In a few steps she stops. About 40' away from the formation at the top of the elevated platform.

OOC:
Stopping there to allow you guys to give me an update of what you do. This has been a fast development, a flood of scene and situation to take in. Think of the characters' vantage point and capture on all of this unfolding so fast, and be realistic about what can be done.

I don't mind questions and discussion for clarity, for some level of talk on the layout and that sort of thing if it is really warranted, but let's try to build a serious and important scene with character actions, complete with character based communications one to another in a realistic way.

What I'm getting at is I'd like to guard a bit against a long and deliberated OOC Admin discussion between all of us IRL. The character don't have in-ear radio comms, much less telepathic links with one another. Their info trade and leading one another should be reflected in the game rather than on a side board bouncing ideas back and forth at leisure over a week here at GP.

I know it's a cheesy request. I can't help it. I'm hoping for a moment in the Ep that is as high-stakes, nerve-wracking, uncertain,
and even confusing as it really would be. Play along? Thanks playerz!

Thorn, having wiped his blade of its recent encounter, sheathes it and halts, arms crossed, glancing at Rutcranna and Kray to see if either of them will take the lead on this. Out of the corner of his eye, he notices that the Tcho-Tcho and the rake have disappeared.

Sneaky fuckers...

His eyes dart back to the formation of women and the cowards they are protecting, searching for a weakness in the wall of shields — a gap in the formation or a shield being held by a weaker fighter.
