Thorn carries one of Rhone's shoulder bags, while she has strapped the other on her back. After helping Maeriks, Rhone quickly runs over to another one of the shelves in the large room, a sort of bar and smoke table (it is where Bryn was hiding momentarily during the fight). She gathers up 2 flasks, a couple of other small bags, and a couple of leaf wraps tied with twine. She brings them back over to Thorn and asks if she can add these into the bag that he is carrying.

When she organizes the stuff in her bag, she also takes out a small bag already inside and opens it, dropping two rocks inside of it. Thorn sees that it is a bag full of rocks, with runic markings painted on them. He is sure they are similar to the items that he has seen Rutcranna carrying, and the bag he found on Fingol.

Seeing Thorn looking on, Rhone smiles and asks, "Do you know stone diagrams?"
OOC:
If Thorn's answer is anything short of "Fuck yea, girl. I know all that shit. What's up?"...
Then a follow-on question, with a curious look, "Did your mother work diagrams or hexes?"

Rutcranna walks over to Maeriks.

"My Norach, I am glad that the Locust Spear is in your sturdy hand. Well done, Maeriks. Your father would be proud of you."

She hugs him and smiles. Maeriks can tell she is worn down, shaky, but soldiering on.
OOC:
"My" Norach is not an expression of ownership or belittling. The opposite. Bat Hannocs say "My" in front of titles of authority or respected names in a show of solidarity and expression of closeness, support, recognition.
"We need to hurry and leave. Our enemies approach, arriving any minute. We must make way to a higher chamber, to the stone cube gate and prepare runes for a mighty spell. Rhone knows the way."

A hot brunette, around age 20, approaches Ivor, though cautiously. She carries two medium sized shields and one javelin. She looks Ivor up and down, maybe raising an eyebrow impressed, and then speaks, first looking at him and then bowing her head in subservience.

"My Champion, I would stand as your shield bearer. I have brought a shield for you as well. Would you take it, and would you have me at your left?"
Jul 26, 2017 2:14 pm
A green coin catches Bryns eye as he searches the area doing the type of hunt that is all too familiar to him Well, hello there. He scoops up the coin and checks weight, moving his hand up and down with the coin in his palm. Fuck, that's light... he gives the corner of the hexagonal coin a quick bite Tough too... he pops the coin into his pocket and goes back to the others.

Women In the Workforce Update:

There are a few shields in the area, but not many. Boanna directed the girls to get what weapons and shields are available and sent them out to different assignments according to Maeriks's original orders.

Here is a short review on age, duty, assignment, etc.:

Boanna: age 24, large shield, gladius, with Maeriks
Naohm: age 15, large shield, knife, with Maeriks

Derry: age 21, Medium shield, javelin, assigned to Ivor

Jilleen: age 16, Medium shield, hand axe, assigned to Thorn

That is all of the shields. Here are some other supporters:

Aisling: 18, visibly pregnant, comes up to Kray, has a quiver of some arrows and a spare shortbow, told to offer her service as ammunition and reloader

Isibeal: 19, visibly pregnant, approaches Brynn, carries arrows and 2 javelins for ammo

Laoise: 17, armed with shortbow, arrows, 3 javelins and atlatl
Casidhe: 13, armed with sling and bullets, knife
Doirind: 33, armed with spear from hybrid, short sword given by Rutcranna

Muirne:
20, visibly pregnant, armed with club

Elva: 30, visibly pregnant, armed with short sword until Rutcranna disarms her with a threatening scowl

Sine:
12, with Rhone
Rhone: 11, has a knife strapped to bag

Several of the women are carrying light supplies, like waterskins, small bag of bandages and clothes, small bag of tools, etc.

Kray sees one of the older of the women (though not an old woman, age 33) approach Rutcranna. The woman looks sturdy and carries a spear. She stops several paces away from Rutcranna and waits.

"Speak your mind, Doirind wife of Donncadh," Rutcranna says evenly, eyeing the woman.

Bracing herself first, Doirind speaks. "I want to declare that I have no quarrel with you Rutcranna Sign-Reader. A prisoner here, I rejoice at the defeat of Gorolach the Villain. I submit to Maeriks Mac Mahan as Norach. I am enemy to...." she falters in small hesitation, then continues " ....to the wretched abominations of the Hive Spawn of the Slug Monster, the beasts who killed the sons and husbands of the Bat Hannoc, those who bring us such shame." She sets her jaw steady and looks at Rutcranna with resolve.

Rutcranna eyes her, considering briefly, then walks towards her. She lifts the sword that she took from Elva moments before, but quickly turns it backwards, offering the hilt to the woman Doirind.

"You have no reason to think of me as your enemy, daughter of Corrine Goldstring." Rutcranna says, handing Doirind the blade and a belt to hang it own. "I mourn the death of your husband as much as you. We have all suffered in this dark time, and we are all likely to suffer more."

With that Rutcranna walks away. Doirind takes a deep breath and swallows heavily, her jaw still set like steel as she looks down briefly. Then she resets, lays her spear down for a moment as she dons the belt and sword, and then picks up the spear again.

OOC:
The women have no krekutils. Is there an above-water exit? Apologies if this has been discussed before.
"Do what you like, girl, just don't get in my way." Ivor says gruffly. He pushes her aside firmly but not ungently. "Beside me, not before me. I'm not hiding behind a woman." He refuses the extra shield, retrieves the handaxe he threw at Gorolach. "I don't suppose you know where the fish-men keep their nets?"

To the others he says, "Let's move!"

OOC:
A general idea, but extreme lack of details so far. Intentions have always been to get in by krekutil underwater infil - then get out through ground entrance with Rutcranna/Rhone moving the big cube stone door that was once seen opening on the north side.
If that works, would be an exit on the great external stairway that faces the forest, faces away from the lake.

Krekutil exfil then is like a back-up plan rather than the primary.

Ivor ...refuses the extra shield, retrieves the handaxe he threw at Gorolach. "I don't suppose you know where the fish-men keep their nets?"
"I think the ulathi have some nets down in the water port bays, where we get the packages," Derry answers.

Ivor suspects he knows what she is talking about. Those chambers are back the way they had already come, in the lower levels around the corner from the filtered water pool. He did not notice nets there, but was not truly looking for any among the clutter either.

Derry gives the shield away to others after hearing that Ivor would not use it.

Kray gave Ivor a knowing look, sure that the ex-gladiator could appreciate that their need to move ahead was a priority over back-tracking for a favored tool, although Kray could certainly appreciate Ivor's interest in optimizing his combat preparedness. He looked toward Rutcranna and Sorcha. "Whenever you're ready, the sooner the better."

Although I imagine Rutcranna and Sorcha will be guiding the tour, I'm all for Kray, Brynn, and Hinka leading the way, based on their directions. Whatever we run into, I want to get the drop on it, so let's move with stealth in front. I know we've got a marching order somewhere, I'm sure that will do fine if nobody opposes it.

Also, J I don't want to imply that the group isn't moving with some haste, I just want the scout types in front for an ideal approach. Fast moving stealth, keeping the less stealthy types back aways.

The water port bays. Ivor grimaces. Fuck that. There's no backtracking unless they all want to die. Ivor meets Kray's look with a nod.

Thorn follows Rutcranna's daughter around, taking the things from her that she hands him and storing them in his bag. He tries to keep his sense of urgency. Grab what we need and get the hell out of here.

Then a follow-on question, with a curious look, "Did your mother work diagrams or hexes?"
Thorn never stops working as he talks. "I never knew my mother. Interesting; your mother said something very similar. What makes you ask this question?"

While talking to Sorcha, a young girl with a shield and a hand axe approaches, apparently having been assigned to Thorn. The Yuroic smiles gently at her, and motions with his head for her to follow Sorcha and him around, gathering what they need.

He finally makes his way over to Kray as everyone is nearly ready to leave.

"Gorolach's protector isn't dead, in case you'd like to know," he mutters in a low voice. "Don't know how I feel about that."

"You have a blessing," Rhone says, stopping briefly to look at Thorn. "I can see it. It is in your eyes. And I hear it carry in your voice." She says scanning him over a bit longer, squinting her bright green eyes thoughtfully. "It was likely woven by your mother. Maybe by an aunt or sister, but I think not." She smiles at him warmly, and then moves on, taking the hand of her friend Sine.

The rest of the crowd is good with this plan. To put it in action, send Stealth Checks for Kray and Bryn.
"That way," Rhone says, leading back out into the oval statue room and up a stairwell. "Climb these stairs then left. Follow the wall along the high landing of the auditorium, to the larger spiral stair case on the far corner that climbs again."

"Gorolach's protector isn't dead, in case you'd like to know," he mutters in a low voice. "Don't know how I feel about that."
Kray made sure they were out of earshot. "Less than sunny, I'll assume. I'm of the same state on it. There's one Rutcranna seems concerned about. Bitch named Elva. Asked me to keep an eye on her." He chewed once on the spliff and continued. "Not a good sign. I'm almost of a mind to just execute the lot that seems snake-like and be done with it. One less concern. Let's me keep both eyes on getting out of this shit hole." A singular hollow chuckle escaped him. "Of course, that could be a blow to morale at large, panic included." He was clearly amused by the thought of dealing with such a mess.

Kray's demeanor changed in an instant to one absolutely sincere. "Something else to consider. Are we bringing women carrying slug-spawn out into the world?" He let that statement work on its own. In his mind it didn't need any help. Are we helping Glaaki spread his seed?

He cast his eyes over the menagerie of warriors, witches, women, and girls. "I suppose we keep it simple for now. Keep close to the one you trust the least and be ready to open her up."

To clarify here, J, between Thorn and Kray could we get a list of suspected potential traitors? Also, going to throw this out there: really, should we be helping to potentially spread Glaaki slug team seed? What these ladies are carrying might be less than human.

Stealth check- hidden to keep the mystery high!
OOC:

A perfect timing for sneaky stealth...

One suspect actively in the group has been identified by Rutcranna. That is the 30 year old, disarmed by Rutcranna also. She is often lurking on the periphery, eyes darting about. Elva is her name, as you said.

Your call on the others. They all have histories that are largely unknown to you visitors. From the info gathered (from MacRu, from Maeriks, from Rutcranna, etc.) many stories among all Bat Hannocs ranging from active collaboration on one extreme to devout resistance followed by crushing defeat/forced slavery on the other extreme, everywhere in between, and some people who were worn down from one to another over time too. So probably really hard to say for sure what internal motivations are on each.

Idea of slug babies (are there really slug babies?) is up to the crowd to figure out, decide on, of course. Or not.
Kray has sort of understood that Rutcranna is tabling the issue, at least for a time. Maybe? Maybe to maintain control and avoid an all-out mental freak-out en-masse?
It is pretty clear that the women, if they are indeed impregnated with not-fully-human kids, they either don't know it or don't believe that to be the case. They think that Big Gorolach is baby daddy for all.

Maeriks has considered the preggo women and figures he will just kill the Gorolach spawn when born. Then take them all to be his wives.
