Onwards and upwards he goes, keeping pace with the Kel Dor below him. He gives a shout to his new friends, "Come, Romund is not far now. Stay vigilant, who knows what we will find!" His voice carries caution, but also obvious excitement from being on a new adventure!
"I understand that thoughts of contention aid some sentients, so I won't discourage your motivations. I'm just thinking about how that notion doesn't help me now..."
"I also have been known to talk too much."
After a bit, the Kel Dor philosopher says, "But talking is what I do best, so I guess there's that."
"Physical competition- *hurgh!* and metaphysical philosophizing- *umph!* Are each essential in their own way. *Hah!* Learning to bring each of those parts of our psyche into balance- *hup!* is one step on the path to true enlightenment. *Yeagh!*"
Somehow even through his physical exertions, Dao still seems to lace his words with a hint of well-intentioned superiority.
"I am the most balanced..." he adds in a playfully mocking tone.

"If I had known it was a race I might not have chosen the path I did. Nonetheless, I admit your climbing prowess has bested me, this time. Well done, Pon!"
"Clearly, in this competition, you are the victor, Pon."
"But as Dao pointed out, we have not found Hethan Romund yet, and we must be careful."
The Kel Dor looks around for any signs leading them onward...
"Thank you for your hospitality, Gatekeeper. A friend called us here, we believe she may be in trouble and we are simply trying to find her. You mentioned we may be useful, is there some assistance we can offer?"
Dao Jodh had asked an appropriate question. Let the trap-bait illusion answer. Then there might be more to do. For now, Tarast would be on his guard.
"As to whether my companions and I are the people to help you," he adds looking about, "it seems we're the only ones here to help. If it's not us, then how long will you wait for others... in the hope that they are better?"
"But tell me, Keeper of the Gate, if we are working toward similar purpose, what dangers will we find on the way toward finding Hethan Romund and dealing with this Darkness you fear?"
Edit: add dice rolling...

"Please excuse my friend's careless words. What I said was true, we *are* here to search for our friend. However, our friend is more than just a friend. She was a mentor to each of us, opening our eyes to the ways of the Force. What kind of pupils would we be if we did not strive to uphold the ideals Romund has only begun to show us? Please Gatekeeper, allow us to assist you in cleansing this valley. And perhaps, if you find us worthy, share your great wisdom with us?"

Not wanting to be a hindrance, but unable to actually strike another person from behind, Dao steels himself the best he can and walks up behind one of the hunters looking as imposing as possible with his walking stick held across his body in both hands.
"Hey, you there! You and your hunting party are not welcome in this valley. Leave now and... and there will be no trouble!"

Pon: Since you were at medium range it will take two moves to enter the melee. You can do this but take two strain (for taking a second move maneuver) then attack 4 green die vs 2 purple.
Dao: You can attempt a Coercion check, fortunately for you the hunters are weak willed and easily manipulated. The difficulty is one purple die and a setback but you get two boost die. One from being Zabrak and the other for the surprise attack by charging Nautolan.
Speaking to himself, "Huh... Well that was easier than I thought! Why do people fight when teaching them the ways of peace seem so easy I wonder?" Satisfied with the outcome and brimming with confidence, Dao looks around for another hunter to show the error of their ways.

Pon you recover your strain and create a wide opening for the next attack

He crouches low, tensing his body for one great leap out of the pit. He clears his mind to call on the force, then he feels it, that energy that binds and surrounds all life. Drawing from that well spring, he energizes his muscles with that power. Confidence wells up in him, and he grins.
"Here goes nothing!" He says before taking the leap.

Dark side pips and Conflict do not necessarily mean using the dark side, it could represent distraction, frustration, fear at failure etc. All of that to say don't be afraid to use them once in a while just don't rely on them too much. At the end of a regular session we roll a d10 and compare it to the conflict you gained during session. So lets say you activate it now you would have one conflict, If I roll a 1 your morality (dark side/light side scale) makes no change. Say I roll a 5, that is 4 more than your conflict so your score would go up by that number (4) towards the light side. Lets say you have a conflict of 7 and we roll a 2 on the d10 after the session, you score would go down (toward dark side) 5 points. Everyone in this adventure started dead center at 50, 70+ is light side territory, 30- is dark side territory. You get bonuses and penalties for either.
"I am all right! Unharmed except my dignity, which has little value! How is everyone?"
He looks around for anything that he might use to climb out.
Listening to the Gatekeeper gives Tarast an idea.
The Kel Dor looks at what he can see out of the pit, if there's a tree branch or some vines he can manipulate with the Force lowering into the pit enough to grab onto.
But he remembered that he had friends, acquaintances really, both of whom knew his mentor and were with him on this journey. Sometimes the Force temps us so that we will learn to trust others...
Tarast lets go of his dark meditations, trusting that his friends will save him.
I will not activate my Force Power using the Dark Side. I trust my friends.

Dao begins to sweat and clinches his eyes shut. His fear and uncertainty in his actions cause him to struggle madly against the rising tide of dark energy rushing at him. He lets out a grunt as he pushes through the feeling to grab the rope with his mind and yank the end of it into the pit.
Dao, now panting, wipes the sweat from his brow and flops onto the ground for a moment. "Go on, Tarast. I need to meditate for a moment to recover from... whatever that was working against all of us. We had best be prepared for whatever awaits us at the end of this road we walk."

"What's going on in that temple has really crossed some wires in my head. I am starting to see why those hunters went mad. What about you guys?" Pon asked.
"I've got a bad feeling about this..."
"We seem to be facing a dark energy ahead of us, and the trial will be a difficult one. But let us not forget, Romund had enough faith in us to call us here to help her. We should take strength in that knowledge. She wants us to come rescue her... She *believes* in us. The least we can do is believe in ourselves!"
And with that, Dao twirls his walking staff around a few times and plants it in the ground. He has a renewed sense of adventure and a brightened outlook, almost as if his pep talk was as much for himself as it was for Pon or Tarast.

"Perfect!" he says to his companions, "we are on the right track! The temple is just up that hill... that steep hill, but we know we're close because these offworlders have marked our route!"
To the Advozse, he says, "I am Tarast Voon, famous archeologist/historian, and a dreadful man named Malefix or Malefax or some thing has hired me to interpret something in some temple. I assume that," he pointed up the steep slope, "is the temple."
"Are you here to lead us, or should we just continue on?"
