If I want Mayron to orientate himself and push off the ceiling to get to the other side of the non-grav area, what difficulty is that?
At the moment he is just a metre or so up. The ceiling is a huge transparisteel dome fifty metres up. He's travelling slowly so it will take a while to get there, but I'd say it would be a Hard Athletics check with a Setback for the dizziness caused by the zero-gee.
Oh, and he's not going straight up. He's going at about a 45 degree angle, so he would reach the ceiling about fifty metres away from where the zero-gee started too.
Hmmm, I'd been kinda hoping it would be a coordination check since he's not using brute strength as much as he is judging distances and a finely tuned push.
Dang, it's just one thing after another. Ok, can G'Rehth see a reasonable way to proceed through this section? Are there handholds or something along emerge wall? Does he think he can just shoot through there, like push of diving into the corridor?
ShowMeDaMonehs; Co-ordination makes sense. Use that.
Flamiel: Do an Average Perception check to look for something to use as handholds. Let's say each success will get you ten metres further (using things like fixed furniture, door/window frames, etc.). I'll figure out Advantages/Disadvantages and Triumphs/Despairs if and when they come up.
Galrion; can you do another Co-ordination check to try to grab the fence? This will be an Average check, but two Setbacks because of weightlessness and the shock.
Falmiel; can you roll an Average Perception check to try to find something to use to catch him? Three (or more) Succeses and you're right on top of it, two and it's five metres away, one and it's back a ways.
Okay Flamiel, how do you intend to use the pipe? Do you want Ta'hida to climb along it or are you going to swing him yourself? Or anything else you might have in mind.
So, I'm imagining that Ta'hida is weightless, while I am on firm footing. I think it's as thinking just holding it straight out to him and pulling him in while he also pulls himself along it. It's a weird scenario, as I've never thought about grav/non-grav partitions like this.
G'Rehth hasn't got past the non-grav area yet, he just got thirty metres out of ninety (iirc, I'll check again when I can but it won't be far off). So he could hold the pipe out one-handed while holding on with the other, or try to tangle his feet around something, or... well, you decide.
:-)
I thought I'd put distances in the posts describing Mayron's acrobatics, but must have forgotten! But, yeah, it's a ninety metre zero-grav area. He went fifty metres along as he floated to the ceiling, then pushed down at a similar angle so he would have landed at an even hundred metres, but the grab kicked back in just before he got there.
Okay, I'd say that's a Hard Athletics check for G'Rehth to keep the pole steady one handed. As always, if you can think of a good reason to get a Boost let me know. :-)
