OOC:
If you guys want to head back to the catacombs, let me know. You can easily make it back there without any real narrative impact. You know how to get out of here to the main gates of Rockblight and you know the way to the little chapel-y thing by this point.

OOC:
agreed let's go to the catacombs and cemos would talk to the ghost as soon as we get there.
Jan 24, 2018 6:42 pm
Cemos collects all that he can in his pack and heads off with the group to the catacombs.
Jan 24, 2018 6:58 pm
You make your way out of the Rockblight, stopping quickly by the medusa's location to recover Stool's body, casting a final look at her headless body.

When you trudge out of the main gate, Sark Axebarrel, the head guard stops you briefly to ask about the medusa. You turn the head over, somewhat quietly. He shakes his head when he looks inside and gives you each 50 gold. Additionally, he pulls a large diamond out of his pouch and offers it to you all for dispatching the beast. Finally, he gives you another 75 gold that should have been for Stool, as well as a small pittance for the loss of your friend.

When you get back to the catacombs, Glyphic meets you in the entry. Their face falls when they see Stool's body.

If you would like, we would be honored to inter him here in the catacombs. There is a place of natural dirt where we have had other myconids interred at their request.

I think he would like that but we should leave that decision to Dustin. cemos looks to dustin you knew him better then all of us. Should we let him rest here or take him with us to find our own place?
OOC:
just a thought but stool couldn't pull a groot could he? Like plant a bit of him in a pot and have a baby stool.
Just wondering.
Cemos turns to glyphic and pulls out the journal and shows him the bones. is there anything you can make of this? Something a ghost said about " they are coming"
Do you know of what he was speaking of?
Jan 26, 2018 5:07 pm
I believe that would be respectful, He did say he wished to be returned to the earth and dirt. He might be able to produce some sprouts Cemos. With that in mind Dustin will get a small pot and good quality dirt and plant some spores from Stool.
He will take care of it having a frame made for it to carry it safely.

Dustin will say words over Stool when he is buried recounting his high moments of heroism and wanting his friend to be buried as a hero. After all in his eyes his friend certainly earned it even when he was but a small sprout.

OOC:
so what's next guys?
Jan 31, 2018 3:07 pm
OOC:
Sorry for the delays!
Glyphic stands by quietly as you inter Stool and give him a proper send off. When you are completed with that, he moves over to look at the bones. Oh, these are certainly old! I don't quite know what he was speaking of. Jadger may know a bit more. You should take them to him. he says, flipping through the journal. He certainly was old. From this journal, he was a compatriot of Jadger's. He may have been alive during the drow invasions.

Drow!?! We have had our dealings with those creatures. We shall do as you say and bring these remains to the ghost and see what he has to say about all we have learned. cemos looks to his companions and makes signs to make ready. thank you again for your stewardship over the dead that rest here. cemos gives him the information about where he might find them at the tavern should he need them again. He then gathers his friends and makes off rward the area that Jadger resides.

Many thanks Glyphic. The loss of our dear friend is a bit more bearable knowing he's in such good hands. As Bildaweer walks, he pulls out the found book and studies, deeply. He stubs his toe and mumbles to himselfno pain, no gain.

No longer feeling happy and bouncy Heartboiler keeps mostly quiet, just making the appropriate sounds during the conversation. Her mind wanders off to the tavern when Cemos mentions it. Salivating from the thought of this delicious spider legs from last night she walks with the others. She can't keep her mind busy for long though, feeling the claustrophobia almost creep up on her, unable to make herself smaller while carrying the bones.
Feb 4, 2018 1:37 pm
As they walk cemos does his best to make small talk with the group, realising that he doesnt know much about heart he tries to discover more. so heart you have been with us for awhile now and yet I haven't asked much about you.
Where is it you come from? Were you born in the Underdark or do come from the surface world?
Feb 5, 2018 4:09 pm
Heartboiler sighs, staring ahead like she's picturing the mountain she talks about. We all lived on the mountain,
the whole Kalagiano clan. My childhood was a relatively normal one; I was a good fighter, intuitive, fast learning and when enraged more powerful than most. I impressed some men with that and three had the guts to ask for my hand.
She pulls her nose up in disgust, then grins slightly like a crazy person. I challenged them to a fight, if they won I would accept their proposal, if I won their heart belonged to me. Needless to say I ripped their hearts out and boiled them and are them. I had heard some old story that eating a warriors heart would give you their strength, don't know if it's true but it couldn't hurt anyway. After destroying the last man to want me, the fight was done in three minutes, he was just so slow in turning, I went up the mountain to boil his heart. I had made it this little ritual, some mothers didn't want their children to see. Weak little twats in the making of you asked me. So there I was, high up the mountain, when those pesky little fuckers from the Many Arrow orc tribe attacked. Her voice grows darker, a deep frown on her face.
It was a bloodbath. I couldn't make it back in time, I knew that when I saw it. Even sprinting I was at least 10 minutes away and when I heard the first sounds of battle I could see we would never win. So I hid and waited it out.
They fought like lions, decimating those vile creatures, but it wasn't enough. When the Chief got killed, letting out a massive scream I knew it was done. They were all gone. I waited until the orcs were gone and then went down to see if anyone had managed to hide as well. No survivers,
all men, women and children were dead. Everything we had, gone. I scavenged a bit, took all I could find, including the sword that belonged to my Chief, buried deep in the skull of one of the orcs. They had tried to take it out, their bloody handprints all over it. When I pulled it out it spoke to me, as it has done many times since. It guides me, tells me to protect those in need or those who can help me. It is now my life's mission to keep the Kalagiano name alive.
I failed them once, it won't happen again. I must make them proud!

The sadness that took over Heartboiler's face is now replaced by determination with a hint of anger. She tenses up until one of the bones she's carrying snaps in half and shocked she relaxes, sighing heavily.
So, yeah, that's my story. I came to the Underdark looking for one of the old contacts of my tribe. Mister Kazook Pickshine did business with one of the elders, I wanted to inform him about the tragedy and see if there was something I could do to keep our name living down here. When we were together and the jelly things attacked I was told to keep you guys safe. It doesn't seem you needed my help to stay safe, so I'm guessing there's another reason why I need to be with you.
She looks sideways at Cemos, wondering if he would know what that reason might be, but not asking about it.
Feb 5, 2018 6:37 pm
well that is a sad story indeed. And don't be so sure we won't be needin your help, something is happening in the Underdark. Something that is causing the Gods of chaos themselves to rise up and enter our domain. We have seen 2 of the breasts so far and you can be sure that there will be more to come. cemos looks down for a moment to utter a dwarven prayer and then looks up to heart. thank you again for you story.

Let's keep moving, it can't be far now.
Feb 5, 2018 7:08 pm
OOC:
2 of the breasts... Snort.... I'm sorry, I have to recover from this unsuspected change if character.... Never saw Cemos as someone obsessed with boobs.... And praying for them... Wow...
Feb 6, 2018 4:34 pm
OOC:
ahahahaha . . . freudian slip
Feb 6, 2018 4:43 pm
Bildaweer lifts his head from the book and listens to Heart's story. Thank you for sharing . . . life is hard. Seems as though the gods want to utilize us to make the world a better place for others. That's my feeling about the state of things. And, it's a very honorable way to live . . . while we can.
Feb 6, 2018 6:43 pm
Dustin nods, "A Demon Lord and Demon Lady, Both of them destroying and taking over parts of the underdark. If there were not some good people down here worth saving I would want to collapse the whole place down on them. Right now those horrors are beyond us to face in combat. One tore a whole city apart."
