Chapter 5: Blingdenstone

His eyes scrunch, dictating a smile "Quite the jumpy bunch you are; not a very strong trait in the Underdark." He relaxes his grip on the gnomes shoulder, pats it "I do apologize, it was not my intent to sneak up on you; it just seems to happen."

He stands up, his eyes coming to rest on this Misha "I come for one thing only, whether you can supply me with that thing or not is undetermined at the moment. Do you know one Grynom Stonebeard?"

As Bildaweer stares, appraising him, there isn't much to gain. He wears loose fitting robes and has his head and face wrapped with a cloth. The one thing that might draw his attention are his eyes: black pits sit in the sockets, no whites, no browns, no greens, no blues, just black. He also hasn't blinked since the gnome started his appraisal.

When the huge goliath had walked over to join the group, Misha had returned her forced smile with a light-hearted and infectious grin. The woman loved meeting new people and cultures, and she had never met a Goliath before. Only read about them in her father's library.

The tiny warrior's face quirks at the odd individual and his question. "No Stranger, can't say I know anyone by that name" Misha replies honestly, both hands on her hips. She doesn't seem overly perturbed by the new arrival's strange eyes, to say the least, and meets them calmly with her own pair, the colour of dark amber or honey.

OOC:
HypCo, go ahead and give me a perception check as well as whatever response you have for Misha.

The wrapped man raises an eyebrow "Curious. Perhaps you do not deal in names...or there is a different Misha I must seek out." He taps a finger on the cloth approximately where his mouth would be "Perhaps, perhaps. Have you had a run in with a particularly nasty Duergar recently?"

stonebeard? Sounds like a dwarven name.

OOC:
Cemos, you know that Duergar are the dark dwarves that live in the Underdark. You fought them on the second boat you all stole and Heartboiler tied one of them up in the Foaming Mug your first night in Blingdenstone.

Misha tilts her head as the strange man speaks farther. "Duergar? I fought one Stranger. But I did not learn his name" she replies honestly, glancing at the dwarf as he comments. The warrior scratches at the neck of her armour and then glances around at the motley group before her.

"Perhaps you and your friends can finish telling me your tale later tonight over dinner Bildaweer?" Misha suggests, thinking that a tavern seat would be a better place to listen to such a story then standing in a marketplace.

Heartboiler tied one of them up in the Foaming Mug your first night in Blingdenstone.
OOC:
"Tied one up"? "Kicked his ass! (And then tied him up)" He looked at her funny, or perhaps he didn't, but in the end we knew he deserved it and the gnomes didn't sustain lasting injuries. It's not her fault, stop looking at me like that!:-p
Heartboiler snorts at the covered man. You got lucky, most things that startle me don't survive. We fought a Duergar two nights ago, big wuss. Can't be the one you are talking about. It was a fun fight, starting with some gnome tossing because they were talking too loud and I couldn't quite hear the other gnomes talking about Stoneheart Enclave and that they were very close to finding a solution to Ogremoch's Bane there. They made it sound very important, didn't mean much to me but wanted to tell my new friends. And then mister Duergar came to challenge me and we knocked him out in two blows. Those spider legs Tappy made for me for doing that were damn good. You should come over tonight and try some!
OOC:
oh and Bildaweer introduced us all! "The small elderly fellow introduces his friends and tells the newcomer about their long and dangerous travels through the Underdark."

Woops! Edited xD

The man reciprocates Heartboiler's snort with a smile "I suppose that makes two under the shining light of luck because most things I startle don't end up with me in conversation." He taps the air with his finger "Your words are disconcerting though; you speak of a fight but not a kill. Does this monster still draw life?"

Misha shrugs. "Maybe. There was an earthquake and the tunnel collapsed. I lost him in the dust. He could be buried, or perhaps he escaped." she tells him. Slightly irritated at the memory.

stole is a harsh word. I'd say liberated.

well perhaps we should continue our investigation of the the jelly problem and other answers about this duarger will come to light. demos turns to jarlep ( jelly man )
any suggestions on where to start searching?

Misha perks up at Cemos' comment. She had heard the gnomes talking about some sort of problem with dangerous Jelly's on her way into Blingdenstone, and had been curious then.

"You are trying to deal with these... Jellies? I heard a guard mention them earlier. What exactly is the matter?" she asks, curious gaze flicking back and forth between the party members.

"Is the city in danger?"

it would seem that they have been showing up recently.
We have encountered a few of the monstrous creatures on our journey and have even killed some in this city. But as for where they come from or why they have made their way so deep into the city is still a mystery to us.
Jun 20, 2018 3:46 pm
We are trying to eradicate the problem and could certainly use some assistance. Would you be in a position to help us Misha? And then looking at the covered face and black pits of the other newcomer Bildaweer asks I don't believe you've introduced yourself. What about you? Would you mind helping us?
Jun 20, 2018 10:15 pm
Misha listens to both of the adventurer's words and nods "I have been well treated by the gnomes since my arrival. Jellies are dangerous creatures. I will gladly help you find the source of this problem." she replies with a smile, then hesitates and draws the over-sized weapon that hangs from her back.

"Unfortunately, I need to visit a weapon smith first," she tells them, presenting the remains of her sword to her new companions. The greatsword has been shattered, the antique weapon's blade ending in a jagged edge only 2 feet from the hilt. "The guard said to talk to a smith by the name of Dargren if I needed a weapon" she continues, looking in the direction the guard had pointed and taking a few steps in that direction.

"Hopefully it won't take too long"

Jarlep looks nervously at the lot of you. Hunting jellies is dangerous work. I really think the city is in a lot of danger. I've never seen so many jellies in one place. It seems every one we've seen in the city have all headed to one spot. Truth be told, it's almost dumb luck I made it out. If you're going there, be careful, please. he says quietly to all of you. But if you are looking for a good weaponsmith, definitely see Dargren. He's over here, a good lot. he says, gesturing towards one of the booths.

Heartboiler, you see a number of heavy hammers hanging from his stall as well.
Jun 22, 2018 6:32 pm
Misha will head over to the stalls assuming no one says anything farther to her. Looking for this Dargren individual and taking a moment to look over the weapons for sale, and their prices.
Jun 22, 2018 7:03 pm
Heartboiler puts a hand on Misha's shoulder. Swampbreath's farts! What did you do with that?! Yes, let's go to Dargren immediately! He can take care of the poor baby and I think he could sell me one of those hammers!
She gives Misha a small push in the right direction and then strides over to the stall, moving towards the hammers and looking at each of them, trying to find the biggest, baddest of them all.
